That’s usually how it works. Stay on a specific server and you’ll eventually just get caught.

Prior to our match last week I don’t recall any legitimate accusations of cheating/exploiting. Because these exploits have been allowed to exist for so long, more and more people are beginning to utilize them (with basically no repercussions at all). This is true on all servers, unfortunately.

As has been mentioned, the vast majority of players on Dragonbrand are strongly against any form of cheating. This is especially true for those of us who have been here since launch. Those who DO purposely exploit likely transferred some time recently and have no pride in the server they’re playing on. They just want to troll.

I’m amazed the scores are anywhere near close. DB probably has the least amount of players that celebrate Christmas, just another day to them. Some of you Mags took that bullet for the team. Bravo gentleman. You are a better Maguuman than I.

The last few pages of their last matchup was rife with such talk. People should have looked that over before giving EB the boot down so fast.

Even though that is the same thing they were focused on for, it wasn’t nearly to the level we’ve seen this week.

I am slowly losing respect for Yaks Bend server. A majority of their posts are QQ propaganda. Posting exploits is bad practice I hope that guy has been banned. what a shame I thought you guys over at Yaks were stand up guys, you have proven me wrong. GL with that guys.

You pretty much just tarred the whole of Yak’s Bend as a bunch of QQ propagandists which isn’t much different to a YB poster tarring the whole of Dragonbrand as a bunch of cheaters.

DB seemed to give up entirely too easily this morning. They’d hit something, get pushed, then go to another BL. No seige, no adjusted plans, no hitting from a different door, just map back. Thanks for the late Christmas present, I guess.

To clarify, I’m talking about the pages and pages of accusations and discussions about cheating.. Much of which has already been deleted or locked by moderators. This isn’t about one or two posts, and it applies to future threads as well.

I guess that puts things in perspective, but with all your numbers, do you really need commanders? I mean, aren’t people competent enough to lead themselves in small groups or parties and communicate through voice comms and/or team chat? I’m not trying to sound insulting, it just always seems odd to me when people use the lack of a commander as excuse (or reason, w/e) despite having overwhelming numbers. The ability to siege and know what to hit and how shouldn’t be limited to the select few with a shiny icon.

I can understand if more Yaks and Mags were on, but you guys still outnumbered us by quite a bit. I wasn’t even aware that Yak was a contender in the numbers game this morning since their BL was mopped by DB with little time and resistance.

I can’t wait till all of the teams are at full strength after the holidays. I think that we’ll see a more accurate point score when all the teams are firing on all cyllinders again. Just from a YB perspective we are down a lot of players because of the holidays. I imagine that the other 2 servers are in a similar boat.

As for any exploits, don’t judge the server, report the idiot who’s doing it. As a YB player I recall our commanders returning Orbs taken by exploit and allowing Keeps/towers taken the same way to be retaken. As a server we try to play honorably, but there will always be some jerk who will cheat. Our commanders don’t use spy intell , they will purposfully go a different route rather than be cheap.

I have seen some great pvp this week. To me it looks like DB is in the same situation as we were a few months ago. If they can get a solid NA presence they’re gonna be dangerous. Mag’s have been tough since we first ran into them. Those dirty little golems of theirs… The straight up battles have been intense from both sides and I’d love another week of fighting you both so we can have a solid full strength fight.

yeah and while we were clearing yak bl. magumma retook there BL and yaks broke out in EB followed by maguma. there was alot more of you guys on come 6am then normally. 26th is a day alot of people don’t go to work NA players were alot more active. i know because i was one of them.

I ‘m aware, and there’s been storms and all those good stuff keeping people away from work. But it’s still the holidays, so presence is fluctuating between everyone. And whether it’s up or down, this morning, DB still outnumbered us. But as I said, DB just seemed to give up when they were pushed but still had us outnumbered. It’s like nothing was a serious. I rarely saw siege placed other than flame rams, then once those were down and we arrow carted DB away from the gate, they backed off like that was their first and only plan.

East keep on DB BL seemed to be the only thing you really wanted. But I’m only speaking from what I saw, I’m just trying to understand.

Pugs’s don’t place seige in my experience.

This has been the most competitive matchup, and the best week of WVWVW, that I’ve had since the game came out. My own theory on why the number of players are what they are (holidays notwithstanding), is the closeness of the match. Because the effort of every players matters in this matchup, I have seen that people are loathe to go to sleep, they are getting on earlier than normal, etc. It is EXCITING this week. I know it’s unsustainable given tier mechanics, but I’d take this grouping every week til the February patch.

And because I am having a blast, I have noticed not a peep of exploiting, I haven’t been griefed by “OP thieves”, I even find the fickle quaggans more tolerable than normal. If you are enjoying the game, it is hard to find things to whinge about.

especially MG and golem rush YB BL since its the easiest to capture…
Time is precious for us we need to gain more points asap so that for NA prime time defending it our score could be close

And for MG holding our Hills in BL which is a very nice tactics took us very much time to retake it
It doesn’t matter if we drop down tier next week, DB isn’t ready for t4 yet

This is one match-up I don’t want to see ending………No server deserves to be dropped to T5. It si just that EB have so dominated the T5 match-up that someone WILL be dropped which is a pitty….You just cant afford to go to sleep with these 3 servers DB have brought a new dimension to T4 WvW. I suspect that EB have gained some mercenary guilds since last match. If they haven’t then they wont last long in T4 and if they have …How long will the mercenaries stay around???

What I dislike most about this match is the time differences in the servers peaks. Yeah mag and yaks overlap a but dragon is completely out of either of our peak times. I really suck to log on to nothing as fight for hrs getting it back just to lose it. I don’t mind getting beat I just ish there was something we could actually do about it. I’m sure there r people of mag with the same feeling and probably on dragon as well. I just think that even with close point totals it not really that good of match.

Not really. We get nightcapped pretty much every week and are used to losing everything overnight vs Crystal Desert, Dragonbrand, Fort Aspenwood etc. I haven’t seen anyone complain about the cost of upgrades because its just something you have to do. If you don’t upgrade your stuff, your borderland is basically the first stop for the overnight karma train.

DB doesn’t have one specific “peak time” as a lot of servers do. Our NA primetime population is just a large as the oceanic contingent, but we have a lot stronger resistance to deal with during the day.

Don’t discount your own night/morning crew, either. The only reason DB hasn’t completely ran away with this match is the fact that you DO have people defending and slowing us down significantly.

Wasn’t me… Was just loling at how quick it got removed! Relax partner before someone condemns all of Yak’s for spreading propaganda! Oh wait, too late…never mind!

Uhhmmmm… Just want to say DB has a big Oceanic presence. Which means us AUSSIES and KIWIS do celebrate our Christmas and Boxing day. Cheers!

Happy Holidays to all players. I’m from Yaks Bend, and this has been a really tough fight for us this week. I have seen some pretty tenacious groups from both Mag and DB this week. You guys are doing great.

I would like to say one thing about our server though that relates to some of these posts, and that is nobody is complaining about us cheating. In the past we have had incidents where we had hackers on our server steal an orb. We gave it back. That’s how we roll, and we are proud of it.

If you guys are so against cheating, why don’t you go ahead and report your players that are contesting our keeps under the map. You can see on the map that there will be swords on our inner keeps with no walls down. Go report them. Live up to what you claim, because I’m getting pretty tired of seeing your players glitch into a keep, or contest our stuff under the map.

I realize that these cheaters are not the reason you guys are winning, but it is your reputation. I know our reputation is secure, and we are proud of that. Proof of this is in these threads.

Even though Yaks is losing, I’m enjoying this fight immensely. Its been back and forth since the beginning of the group. I thought Maguma was out of it until the other night.

side note – 12/26 – to the two warriors I just had a 10 minute long run round eternal battlegrounds fight with ( I was the giant ugly Norn engi with TACO guild)… I was laughing the entire time, it was a fun fight! Although did you HAVE to jump on my corpse when you finally downed me?

As a DB asian player, I felt tried to face someone upgrade the keep while enemies start to attack, and someone built many rams which far away from gate when we try to assault a keep. In other word, one of our active oceanic Commander has been blocked by Anet for three days due to warn someone don’t hit the gate by hand.
But we oceanic players are tough guys, I believe we can still bring both YB and MG a good fight.

Glad to hear it is slowing you down. It usually doesn’t feel like it in game sometimes. Defending so often is an exercise in frustration cause no matter what you do, you still lose most of the time, and too often you lose a fully upgraded keep full of siege way too fast.

I was frustrated this morning. Spent a lot of time running supplies to SE tower in DB BL to build siege to try to slow the DB zerg. Put down some siege I had to buy and I don’t have a lot of money and can’t stand doing jumping puzzles. But no matter what we did could not stop the catapults in tunnel from taking out wall.

Then went to East keep to defend. We put up a pretty good defense for awhile and stopped one wave incoming to lord room. Maybe two. Did get a good many loot bags while on a arrow cart but still frustrated cause so many DB it didn’t matter in the end.

Should have logged then…but went to help defend Maguuma garrison in EB. Basically DB was able to mostly auto attack the inner gate down seemed to me. And there was a ton of manned siege in the lord room and it did not make the slightest difference. So frustrating.

Don’t blame you DB guys cause Maguuma and every other server will always zerg everything down whenever they can do it. Just wish it wasn’t so easy. Defending should be easier and more rewarding. Zerging is just too darn easy in this game and it makes all the gold and time spent putting up siege, keeping it refreshed, all seem pointless when you get outmanned 3 to 1, or 4 to 1. Not saying a large force should not eventually win. But it should take a lot longer and be more frustrating for the attackers rather than so frustrating for the defenders IMO.

It’s alright, your english is pretty good and was able to understand. It sucks when spies or whoever sabotages keep defense or when assaulting one. It happens to us all.

I’ve never seen so many rams placed at supply camps. What’s up with that Mag and YB? It doesn’t slow us down and you aren’t siege capping your own team.

Doesn’t matter to me at all, I’ve just never seen it so much before. The other day I helped flip 5 Mag camps and saw 4 rams at each. Today there was about 8 at one camp.

Well, I haven’t seen it recently, but sometimes we seriously get bored and start putting rams down everywhere. We have some pics posted in previous threads that I won’t bother to look for. Don’t have my own with me right now.

It goes back to Ramelot, which was a south east supply camp defense where Starfleet Dental built something insane like 40+ flame rams, 10+ ballistas and 5+ trebs.

It was all a bit of fun, but people were really behind it and rallied to Ramelot to the death. Ever since then we have players that just like building random flame rams in odd places. The flame ram is sort of like the Maguuma mascot now.

Edit: I’m trying to dig up some screenshots of Ramelot. It was beautiful.

Which goes back to my original question, why cant they? I highly doubt every single last person that morning was new, a little odd that just because you lack commanders, everyone seems to act like they cant make decisions for themselves past “place flame ram here.”

This one really confuses me. You know who did it (because you can just mouse over the icon), they were obviously online, and you’re in the same server. But instead of PMing them and asking them directly or saying something in chat, you come to the WvW forum that includes other servers…? Am I missing something?

For those of you looking at the score and wondering where DB went remember this. a portion of our night time crew does celebrate Christmas, and our NA crew was small to begin with. Having anybody not long in during the NA prime hurts us more then the other servers.

not making excuses why we are losing (ya’ll are putting up a hell of a fight) just wanted to make sure DB’ers knew what was going on. Keep up the good fight Yak and Mag, and no matter who gets dropped to T5 i’m certain we will be fighting again soon.
