I apologize for lumping all of SoR into that claim, certainly just because I’ve never seen a choo or TW commander leading anything but a ton of other choo or TW + accompanied (PC Term) “militia,” doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen: anecdotal evidence is rarely relevant.

The point was that if SoR wants even fights, they needed to learn to split single guilds into multiple BL’s, to match their opponents movements, instead of just whining about their opponents not wanting to fight. They’ll get their fights, and they might actually get some PPT too.

SoR has never stated we are outmanned during NA primetime. We openly acknowledge that is our strongest coverage. It just takes us so long to get up there in the 350+ ppt because JQ starts with everything upgraded to the hilt because of FOO. It takes us a while to widdle supply down and eventually take fully upgraded and defended keeps. Luckily our non US coverage has been doing an outstanding job lately minimizing it as much as they can.

This would be great! We love Blackgate, because they don’t quit, ever!

A lot of people talking about how even T2 is so close. Personally I think it looks like it could be pretty boring.

The only thing keeping it close is BG and Kain huge coverage gaps during each others main coverage. So they take turns turning the map all one color during Sea/EU. Then TC comes on during NA and keeps BG from completely turning the map green during that time. Based on the points progression on Mos it looks like Kain is basically just WM and no one fight at any other time.

I’d rather have JQ destroy us in points but have good fights during NA Prime then have a close match with Kain with neither server having much opposition.

Just a thing to think about.

How can it be fun to play on SEA if you play on JQ? Atm having 3 fully capped BL’s (apart from 1 tower). And we just had 10 people defending our last fortified tower in homeland to 50+ JQ, they built 3 trebs & 4 catas to take it down.

Yesterday the mighty Merc and Magikarp the Magnificent posted a screenshot of their exploits with a 595 ppt tick…. The most amusing thing is that someone said 525 and he came back and say, no way, 595. Now if they can’t be bothered to wait around and get everything upgraded and deploy siege then who’s fault is that? Pot kettle black? You familar with that?

Every server has periods of strong and light cover. Its what they choose to do in those periods that makes the difference.

For 8 weeks SoS rolled through tier 1. Everyone had fun. There was much joy in the world and people frolicked in the streets.

Times have changed. JQ has taken roids. SBI has disappeared and been replaced, first by a tenacious little pitbull named Blackgate, now by a larger, angrier mob named SoR.

Running to another server (a couple of our hardcore pvp guilds) or dropping to another tier to hide from JQ is for sissies.

The entitlement culture seems strong in some elements of the GW2 WvW community.

Before I say anything let me just say I am a random BG guild member. Not a leader, not part of the BG war council, not anyone of particular importance really. With that being said….

This is pretty much true. Kaineng’s major strength is in their oceanic coverage due to WM fielding 500+ korean members. BG’s coverage gap = oceanic. Oceanic is the only time of day that Kaineng has a higher ppt than BG. TC’s strongest coverage is NA and they don’t play for second that’s for sure.

So this is what happens, BG oceanic is two guilds that are outmanned but not completely out played. So they hold what keeps they can. SEA logs in (HUGE HUGE THAI alliance, ND, URGE, LLB). They completely wipe Kaineng’s insominac oceanic’s and SEA while flipping t2/t3 Kaineng’s new keeps/towers. BG SEA hands it off to EU which further flips more keeps/towers. Our EU likes to stay up til 4AM everyday of the week so they overlap with NA, so NA logs and finish painting the BL’s green. NA stays up til 2AMish and hands it over to oceanics (2 guilds) which starts the vicious cycle over again.

Now, I have been developing an extremely high amount of pride for my server (BG). The amount of coordination, communication, and dedication is overhelming visible if you use BG’s public TS3 server and check the blackgatewvw forums and open your eyes to what is really going on. We have commander chat for when a BL is in need of help or to help further coordinate a move together. We have schedules for the days of the week.

That being said, and please don’t take this as a “my ego is bigger than yours” post, I seriously believe that if BG’s oceanic coverage gap were to be filled, hint hint, than BG would easily go neck and neck against JQ.

Anyways, sorry for the derailment. Hopefully everyone is enjoying the great competition in tier 1! BG’s been sharpening our swords and cleaning the blood off our boots in tier 2.

FOO left ET and reached out to other communities and was welcomed to JQ that’s the simple fact of the matter in how we got FOO. Are we grateful? Not really SoR has two gaps( 1 1/2) to fill in order to be able to challenge JQ. Our Oceanic is non-existent but we are light during EU also. Especially early EU. To really challenge JQ we have about a 12 hours gap that needs filled some parts more then others.

SoS could probably do it with more EU. Sounds like BG could probably do it with more Oceanic(not sure since we haven’t seen the new BG).

I think a SoS/SoR/BG matchup would be epic NA Prime time fights. I think SoS would run away with the score though because BG and SoR wouldn’t be able to stand up to their Oceanic presence. BG and SoR would probably battle for PTT during EU keeping each other low. So SoS would be ticking 600+ for 5ish hours a day and BG and SoR would never tick more then 400ish.

I would have to throw WHO Ostermark circa 2009 was a special place to play as well. Many of the current JQ original core came together there. Pheonix Throne as another great WHO community. JQ, for me and others

They were great servers cut my teeth on Ostermark then the move to Pheonix Throne and finally on to Badlands. Fun times.

But you said that FOO left ET for a Free ride (They fought WM for over a month). Stop changing the subject or trying to shift the focus to a different point. You said FOO came for a free ride when they came here WM was still on SBI and they were extremely dangerous but it’s not FOO’s fault that WM left SBI or that other server’s SEA wasn’t able to stand against them.

Two points;

I have personally fought Foo for weeks on end when SoS oceanic was staying online 10-12 hrs daily holding the line, FOO is a fine opponent and very difficult to hold at bay.

If the forum Monkey’s infractions were counted against their servers ingame scores, we three servers would meet in tier 8.

Even though Kreen said he is leaving the forums and never coming back (yeah right) I find this post amusing. Why bother spending coin to upgrade when the JQ zerg machine will wake up and stomp everyone. Doesn’t matter how upgraded keeps are if there is no one to man the siege weapons, why bother? Oh look at all the pretty siege weapons, luckily we upgraded the keeps that will deter them for a few more seconds. well worth spending the coin.

I think you’re misunderstanding the fact that FOO moved to JQ wayyyy back before we were #1, just before HoD’s downfall, which also happened to be when ET fell too.

So no, we weren’t the “winning team”. They simply wanted a new home to stay in a competitive WvW server at the time.

Honour (Honor ) is a strange thing.

Some might think that openly exploiting is dishonourable. Some might think that sending trash talk PMs to enemy commanders in game is dishonourable. Some might even think you can never regain honour once it is lost.

We are playing an online game. IMHO, it may be best not to use Honour or courage to describe other gamers actions. Live and play to your own codes, preferrably within the rules of the games and forums.

It may even be better to post the score. Please.

Yes at that time HOD was still#1 but the rumour about TA disbanding already start to circulating around and even if TA did not disband,nobody want to move there to have bloody long hours queque.

And at that time if FOO want to move to competitive/top servers they only have 2 choice (JQ/SBI) Since SBI have WM then the only logical choice for FOO is JQ. Communication is so much phun! It would be great if player coverage was more even. Yes, we agree. At Sea of Sorrows, we shed a tear when we remember the glory days holding the top spot in NA tier one. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to play with fine communities like JQ, SoR, SBI, BG, and TC [Including the transfers from ET & HoD]. But, wait, my happiness doesn’t stop there. I am also happy to have played with CD, YB, FA, DH, IoJ…Yes, everyone.

At the same time I worry about the competence of some posters, their mental health/disorders, the general level of education of forum posters [I’m interested in being an educator], and their social skills (or lack of). Please improve.

STOP THE ANGER. If you are trying to gain status here…or respect just log off please. You are better served with people you can visit in person. Work with the people around you, respect the red names in front of you, and attempt to be a better human being.

The developers may or may not move the game in the direction we want. There will be other games. Try to remember the people you spend time with…and ask yourself if it is time well spent…

It will be a fight to the death for SoR and SoS this last day.

Ranger in the Guild Vanguard or Valhalla, something along those lines. He was a human with a Greatsword. We were fighting between Vale and Briar on the SoS map a few minutes ago. Pretty impressive man, good job. I would love to talk to you if anyone knows who this is or if you can PM me I would appreciate it.

Also, sorry to bail on you the second time we fought, my Queue for EB popped, I didn’t mean to frustrate you. I was the Mesmer, and the Ele that was with me also commented on how well you fought.

While I was posting the above, I read through a few pages of the WvW thread. I would like to mention that just because you don’t hear people talk with respect from another server, ALL servers included, does not mean that they are not there. Most of the people that would speak with respect are hugely turned off by the distasteful tone of these threads, so they probably wont post. It compounds itself when people that cannot control themselves continue to talk and talk, making servers look worse and worse. I am sorry for all the hate, but I also realise that the people that speak the loudest don’t speak for everyone.

I dont’ fault them, I just don’t play for the same reasons they do. I want good fights. I want balanced matches. I want that more then just on the weekend. People who stack servers ruin that.
