Actually people/guilds moved from SoS to BG over the last few weeks. So its not like the original BG members fought their way back in some heroic fashion. They just acquired better players which still wont be good enough to beat JQ

speaking as someone who has been on both BG and JQ.
BG fought their way into T1 vs JQ and SBI. What followed was the most hilarious kittenfest ever, where JQ and SBI both complained 24/7 that BG was using portals, something that literally every other tier besides 1 was using. Eventually SoS pushed up past BG in rank, and dominated.

BG fights its way back into tier 1 by beating SoR, a lot, booting out SBI. The following JQ/BG/SoS matchup was insanely close between BG and SoS, proving that BG was competent enough to hang out in T1 again.

SoR then beats up a dead server (SBI) and leapfrogs back over BG.

Bg then has to face kaineng (another decent server) to get back into t1 again.

BG has climbed into tier one three times. Each time against other reasonably decent servers (twice, against SoR, another tier 1 server, for starters)
This was done long before they got any SoS transfers

You would be hard pressed to find a server that has had to climb back into tier 1 by actually fighting their way through tier 2 as much as blackgate has.

The match isn’t over, so please stop talking as if it were. It’s a very close game, and BG is incredibly strong during oceanic time. Sometimes they get 400+per tic. I’m biased, so for JQ’s sake I hope we have some NA players who can stay up late. In any case, great match up, and to all the servers and players best of luck.

You shouldn’t judge a server by a one-day observation, specially today. They were certainly kicking kittenbutt earlier in the match. I think people are just trying to get some rest and not overplay/burn out. It has been a great week considering we kept the score extremely close.

Great fighting @ Hills on JQBL, you guys are tucked in there pretty good. So far this has been one of the best match ups i’ve played in and i’m looking forward to more. Though its a shame to see some people from my server constantly referring to you guys as “failgate”, I quite simply don’t see it like that. You guys fight hard and never give an inch without us fighting hard for it, for that I respect you/your server. Thank you guys for bringing a great fight to T1, its much appreciated and I expect nothing less than this for the next match up

Personally I think it’s been an awesome week of fighting so far and I’ve enjoyed it. I think the top 2 worlds are pretty close, although JQQueue still has the edge in numbers, and it would be nice if SoR had more people so they could be competitive rather than being 70k behind. Imagine 3 worlds evenly matched – WvW would be awesome!!

I hope everyone has a blast next week and keeps it going. Also hope the forum trolls on all sides get a severe case of sthu-itis and stop being such tools.

BG has the strongest euro coverage out of all the NA servers in tier 1 and 2. So, in a way, I do understand why BG’s euro group will think it’s an insult with your comment. You’re essentially saying even though BG has more players in euro time zone, they’re losing to the other servers who have less players. In other words, you’re implying that they suck.

Whether this is because JQ decided to team up with SOR or because JQ’s other guilds are working overtime is up to anyone’s interpretation. I think it was you saying BG lacked euro presence, when that is pretty much a very solid core for them …. HB comes to mind. It just shows a lack of understanding of the server and potentially insults your teammates.

Then they are simply being complacent if they believe BG’s coverage is that great. It is lacking in some parts and JQ outclasses them in this area. BG has the strongest euro coverage out of all the NA servers in tier 1 and 2. So, in a way, I do understand why BG’s euro group will think it’s an insult with your comment. You’re essentially saying even though BG has more players in euro time zone, they’re losing to the other servers who have less players.

If you think that it was just 1 day, you wouldn’t say they need MORE euro coverage. By saying that, it seems like you think that the lack of coverage is not temporary but permanent. BG’s euro group definitely knows that they do not need more coverage. By implying that they do, you’re saying they are playing down to the numbers of the other servers.

I mean if you think it’s just that 1 day, you would probably say “Today, there are less people in euro time slot but it’s probably due to people taking breaks for tomorrow’s push” and not “We need more euro coverage since even though we have 30 people, we’re losing to 15 people and it seems we like only have 10.”

If I were you, I’d drop the sense of entitlement to 1st place and focus on strengthening our weaknesses via proper recruitment. :/ For now, BG can’t beat JQ. Hard fact. This is just a matter of interpretation at this point. Regardless, I am not taking a jab AGAINST BG Euro, I’m merely saying it would be great if more people would come to make whatever time advantage BG has at the moment more expansive. Geez.

No no no. It’s people taking it as if I’m claiming to have my word as gospel. I’m not. Maybe I just got trolled by some poster pretending to be from BG or something. We were doing fine until the conversation turned so messed up lol. Although I do admit I am very opinionated and combative, but only when I feel like I have been attacked unnecessarily. Honestly if Blackgate won despite SOR’s best efforts to"double team" I would think SOR would be insulted.

JQ found their swagger mid match, good for them. They played hard and if they win they deserve it.

SOR letting the past dictate how they play the final 24 hours of round 1, bring it on I say. Its flattering when one server has so much malice against us they decide to focus. It means we left an impression.

This was the point of contention for me, but let’s move past this.

Just thought i’d stop by to say what a great day this have. You sure kept us busy JQ. Last night I went bed thinking we would be fine in the morning, and then waking up and seeing I had to rally everyone in my guild into WvW. To bad my connection went splat or I would still be in there.

Bah finally able to get into WvW and the server keeps DCing me due to maintenance
