[ALS] Anvil’s Last Stand Guild Leader
So I logged into WvW yesterday and some people were going to camp flip, so I decided to join them for a bit. When we moved out this guy started heading off to the side, at first I thought maybe he need some stuff at the merchant but he kept running past them. The other guys followed him and I was thinking to myself “wtf are these noobs doing”. After debating to myself for a second on wether to ditch them all or follow them, I decided to follow them, at least it’s a good story to tell my guild about the noobs later. To my surprise there is ANOTHER path out of our spawn, in fact there is one on each side, and the exits are pretty far apart, making it hard for people to cover them all. Not only is this a good, sneaky way to leave but it could be used to avoid being spawn camped. Wish I found out about this earlier.

Wait, so, you’re following ‘noobs’ who knew there was side exits? Or is this your way of saying spawn camping is ok?
Insert facepalming sound effect here.

I read it with a bit of irony, many dont know that.
About keineng influx, it will be a nice test to NSP, at least for me it will, i want to see how top tiers players play.
So far i imagine something like a zerg of glass cannons pretending they still on Jade Querry, and treb spamming in key casltes.

It’s a sarcastic way of saying its nigh impossible to get spawn camp. Those who continuously charge out through the front is looking only for a fight, thinking they are some sort of epic PvP hero. They are worst than those who sit infornt of the front entrance at the very least they have all/most of the map and is killing time. Walk around, I doubt they have 10+ people blocking every exit. If they could chances are they wouldn’t be anywhere near the lower/mid tier, if they are them it won’t be for long.
I read that note about side exits as sarcasm, not sure but maybe was to just provide some insight to avoid the spawn camp topic noted above?
Anyways, looking forward to playing against you guys in a few hours. Hell I’m looking forward to something to do. Painted maps are never fun for any side. If your not on the side that’s trying to get out from spawn camp situations, your on the side that is running around aimlessly trying to beat the other guys to the 1 or 2 items that are not colored your servers color.
Will send message now. Glass cannons a must for this weeks fight =) or upscaled alts.
None of that pvt ppt crap. Who needs it anyway. I wasnt my p/h/cond *duration <<- OP
… o.o – see ya in a few hours folks.

EDIT:
Cant wait to get spawn camped
^^ won’t be doing that unless you were one of the guys who were turfing the folks from DH/NSP in the EB JP. Even then – not my style, there’s better ways to deal with this.

It’s not ‘nigh impossible’ it’s incredibly easy. If you’re spawn camping, it’s most likely because you’ve capped the entire map. Which means all three exits will lead to an enemy tower.
There will never be an acceptable excuse for spawn camping and it will always be done by lame players. That’s the nature of the game.
First rule of “Being Spawn Camped”:
- Don’t Fight At Spawn
You are being camped for a reason. It is either strategic, tactical, or mindless farming.
Which ever it is… the economics of continuing to fight at spawn are against you.
- Take another exit. Every spawn has three exits. Not all are ideal, but they exist.
- Go to another map. Rally to a larger force. Put pressure elsewhere.
- Wait. Pull out of sight and just wait. Campers are not typically patient.
If you are being camped for strategic or tactical reasons, you need to understand why. Perhaps it is because a nearby asset is the objective of assault. Camping is a legitimate tactic in this case. Perhaps the campers WANT you to move to another map because they are under 2v1 pressure. Camping is a legitimate strategy in this case.
If it is mindless farming? STOP feeding them badges.
If it is a “drive-by” zerg? STOP provoking them so they will move on…

I started slow-clapping after reading this…very good analysis and agreed on pretty much all counts.

Okay, this is ridiculous. I know I’m posting in the old matchup, but I didn’t know spawncamping was even a thing that was complained about. There are 3 exits from spawn that all have legendary defenders. What the hell else do you need, orbital drops anywhere on the map?
Complaints about spawncamping here are ridiculous. And for the record I would never spawncamp because the likelyhood of actually killing anyone that’s worth killing vs the risk of half the noobs in the zerg getting gibbed by defenders is pretty bad. A single spawn exit is a natural bottleneck like a bridge that’s actually in the spawner’s favor. They don’t even have to go through it.
Spawncamping complaints are legit only when there’s little that can be done about it, for example Halo-style spawn anywhere in crossfire BS, or TF2 when there’s only one spawn door because of a poorly designed map.
The spawns in WvW are really well designed. Anybody who knows anything needs to stop complaining about spawncamping right now. It’s your own fault if you graveyard-rush the enemy zerg and die over and over feeding them badges. Sharks are drawn to blood, it’s not their fault you put razors in your scuba-suit.
