And I’ll just assume you think ppt is main goal in wvw, or you’re like DK and sending 200 people to die to kill 2-3 catas is “tactical win” if you manage to kill said catas

We have two full servers that do not have a linked server, and one the is linked and still open for transfers. We can see some effect from the scoring changes that have already been put in, but we do not have full implementation yet. I really don’t think we can say we have achieved balance in T1 yet. A sampling that is a few weeks old is not enough data. It sure does not feel balanced.

Doesn’t stop the BG players from drinking the same hiber kool-aid.

And I don’t go there nowadays as I can’t smack talk to full potential after vacation and traveling, seeing as how I’ve logged in about four times total since beta linking began. I don’t know who is where anymore and don’t care enough to find out. Too many anon accounts echoing in there anyway. At this point I’m reading for signs that gw2 has a future.

Yeah, I don’t personally care who wins T1 right now. The score is close, and (with some exceptions) we get good fights when we want them. Like Tuesday night in EB…

You underestimate the bandwagon train onto ET. It was crazy. 4 map queues during weekdays during NA. 2 map queues for OCX. Since the unlink, I’ve just been seeing outnumbered buff for BG OCX unless me and KnM runs at the same time.

If thats the case it beggars belief that ET was put into the 4 server link. What the hell were they thinking?

However it does raise the question of why BG was the only server to remain closed after being unlinked if its population was no better than say TCs. Either people are bored on BG and not playing or anets population calculations are wrong.

You could say ET came out of hibernation too. Remember that their server has lacked meaningful leadership basically since AA left. The lack of organisation and guilds means dead server. BG has the server structure in place which I would guess, brought out a lot of ET players. Not to mention the dozens that went to ET to play with BG (bandwagoners)

A few hours ago I was watching BG and TC scrimming and not caring at all about DB being in first. T1 is not balanced, it’s simply that they are letting DB win. This way DB gains Glicko and it will put the T1 wall back up for now.

I can’t speak for BG but there are a significant number of people on TC that would prefer JQ over DB. You’ll find out why if you ever have to face kittenain now that they’ve absorbed a large amount of YB.

They had found a semi balance last week, but they neglected to close DB and IOJ for this week. Anyone wishing to get into tier 1 has only to bandwagon onto DB or IOJ and what was starting to become balanced is now shattered. All this is yours for the small price of 500 gems (IOJ) or 1800 gems (DB).

Well at least we know how ANet will pay their employees for working on WvW.

It’s just a giant mess, really. If you hit T1, you should lose your linked server and close. That’s… really it. That’s the only way to keep it at least somewhat balanced.

You’re just saying that because it’s Saturday and your server is already behind the other two by 10K. :-)

We’re not linked and yet are still neck n neck with DB (who is linked).

Of course BG is hibernating. We all know what’s going to happen:

1. BG hibernating
2. BG will become very high
3. People will bandwagon to them
4. And guilds will “be able to get their long lost brothers onto the server”
5. Next linking or change BG dominates
6. People complain on the forums how BG should never go off full
7. Repeat 1 -6

True but then the majority of the alliance leaders hate the server system full stop. I can’t speak for Mal, but I know he’s passionate about the game and if he doesn’t want JQ I suspect it’s about the lack of fights they would bring in NA more than anything else.
