Personally, I think the poll fails because the answer isn’t a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
Do I want the desert to come back? depends…

• If it’s unchanged —> rotate it with EoTM
• If it’s changed, then they need to make it less vertical, remove the pve elements (it’s a pvp map after all, pve people already have enough maps), add strategy (like give everything some strategic use as some certain towers currently don’t have ANY strategic use)

The reason the alpine border hasn’t brought back more people is because:

• most people who cared about realm vs realm stuff moved onto a different game, where the devs don’t ignore the game mode for 3 entire years.
• they came back, saw nothing actually changed (as in, none of the balance problems got fixed) and instead they are practically forced to grind out pve maps as most wvw unlocked stuff was taken away from them and moved behind (very) expensive guild hall upgrades. Then add how, specializations are more powerful then their base class and you get that players coming back who feel being forced to upgrade to HoT just to grind pve for a few months just to get their guild unlocks to the same level as before HoT. And that’s something they don’t want to do (I know several people/guilds that refuse to come back just ‘cause of that reason alone) and it’s too little too late for these people no matter what anet does.

• anet asking us, if they should delete something? the fact they are even asking shows that they have no idea what direction to take their game in…
• besides people who never did wvw shouldn’t be able to vote anyway. They may just see ‘remove map’ and go like ‘noooooo’ with no idea on what map the question is about. If the poll was set to be fair, you would get an in game screen with the poll on it when you are of a certain wvw level…

What? Silenced? You were the group silencing the majority. At some point you guys will have to grow up and realize that you are in the minority, and the poll is now proof of that.

That’s still bunk as where were the actual “PLAYERS” on these maps then? Have a reward track were you have to earn the right to vote on the poll and the results would be different. Have a Dev come out and say, “Hey, if you really don’t like the Desert map, let us know by voting to delete it and we’ll make another map for you.” then see how much the poll differs. Fear and guilt swayed this far more than players actually “liking” the map or planning to use it.

EotM stays as is with no changes. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Dev’s need to focus on what is broken first.

We’ve been through this the players forced them into this poll.

No, actually Anet forced this poll. The polling players asked for was to be sent to all WvW players past and present over a certain rank via email to ensure only WvW players voted and not a ton of duplicate accounts. This poll, along with all the others they put on these forums thus far is rubbish and unorganized rubbish at that.

Numerous players asked for other options, they were not presented. Doing it this way just forces players on one side or the other to give up on the game and leave. This is going to have worse results than even the tournaments did due to how they chose to go about this. No one can take blame for that except for Anet.

They had a choice between running off players or having an opportunity to increase player base, increase player satisfaction and increase the games longevity. They chose the former.

You cannot blame others for their actions, they chose to do it wrong.
