Badges of Honor, best ways?
well if spending excesive amounts of time doing WvW isnt your thing how do you like jumping puzzles? you get a few BoH each time you compleat a jumping puzzle in WvW. There is 1 long one in the eternal BG and 1 in each boarderland you can do each day although chances are you will be better off just runing alts through your home BG puzzle vs trying to do the enemy ones unless your server is very dominant.
I have just over 5000 kills in WvW so far and I have gotten ~350 badges total in all that time.
Sadly, the best way to get badges of “Honor” is by doing jumping puzzles
Playing a various Stormspire alt – if it’s Stormspire, it’s probably me
Guilds: Elder Prophets [EP], Principality of New Katulus (PiNK)
Here’s the best advice you’ll receive:
Find 4 other guys who want to kill red instead of kill brown keep doors. Log on at prime time (prime pvp time is 6pm cst to about 12pm) and run nightly. Focus on killing red and red only. We run every night and average over a 100 a night easily. That’s in a real time span of 3-4 hours. Anywhere from 150-300 kills. Do that and you’ll have your 500 in a week or two. Plus have the most rewarding feeling about winning fights you shouldn’t.
1) Find a guild that knows to play effective Zerg (20-40 ppl) vs Zerg fights.
2) Participate with an AoE char Necro, DD-Ele, Warrior and Guardian are great for that
3) Build a party of 5 such chars.
4) Consume buf-food & Oil
5) Kill, Collect & maybe die …
Should give 20-100 badges per hour if you find enemies doing so as well.
PS: ca 12k kills produced 2.5k badges

How is this possible? I have about 8k and over 1300 badges….

Prob Zerg kills. Less bags than small man.

Might explain it, I run in a group of 2 but do Zerg dives also…. That # just seems way too low or it’s exaggerated

Yeah that seems odd, I average a badge every 4-5 kills
ps – you also get 10 for each WvW zone you complete so that’s 40 right there
Malzerius – Thief
Dark Covenant (SBI)
2300 kills, 520 badges. Most of my badges, I think, came from supply camp supervisors. You get some from JPs (as already reported) and from wvw map completion. The rest of mine come in low frequency from battles. Your chances improve if you kill level 80 players, and if you can drive the stake in.
Mar Steadfast G, Silent Intrigue T, Mar Fidget Engi, Mar Fierce W, Silent Awe M
In GW2 since BWE1 ~ ~ ~ Guild leader of Legio Romana [LR], too
As someone once referred to them in a video, they are better off called badges of jumping.
Arkham (Ark)
To get badge drops you need a significant amount of damage in a kill. In a big zerg where you tag everyone with 1 skill you’ll get small bags and other junk. I seem to get around 1 badge every 3 – 3.5 kills on average.
AOE zergs with an elementalist or necro to get lots of badges.

o.O
I find this hard to believe.
I get about 1 badge every 4 kills.
(4.5k total kills)
lv80 Necromancer, all professional skills unlocked, working on the final norn elite skills.
I made a tutorial not to long ago on how to make badges easily in WvW:
- Find a hardcore WvW guild on your server
- Ask to run with them (and to invite you in a party)
- ???
- Profit
It’s also the most fun way, really.
I would tend to agree timewise that 20+ vs 20+ fighting or jumping puzzles using portals are likely the best ways to gain badges.
For myself though, I have under 6k kills, I am wearing a set of full badge bought armor, two badge purchased daggers and have around 600 in the vault. My way was small teams, camp flipping and fighting other yak/camp teams. 1400+ hrs into the game though.
if you’re good at the game, then just go kill people. doing EB jumping puzzle nets you badges as a reward AND gets you tons of kills along the way, win-win.
if you’re bad at the game, join your nearest zerg and sit in there and be bad. you get fewer badges this way.
i net about a badge every 4 kills.
You get about 1 badge for every 5 kills if you keep looting actively.
So you’ll need to start looting more and 2500 kills.
Thats 2 days for HC raid bombing in action packed day.
Prolly about week of active play for normal raid.
Upto a month for soloer running around casually.
Some of the statistics people have been throwing around can’t really be backed up. The truth of the matter is you get Badges of Honor by getting loot drops and the only way to get loot drops is to deal a significant amount of damage to an opponent so if you are running in a zerg it is less likely you will get loot drops. It’s also worth noting that Guild Claiming and Keep Lords drop badges quite consistently. If you really want badges you should run a 5 man havoc squad, flip camps, and gank enemy players while traveling to new camps. On my tank necromancer I get about 30 to 40 badges an hour just by doing the above.
80 Necromancer [Munchies Survives]
I have around 3.5k kills and I have made over 1.1k badges
Gift of battle + invader shoulder + invader shortbow and still around 100 badges in storage.
I just go out and kill people. that what I do in wvw.
I have around 8k kills and I have made over 4.5k badges.
Having 8 toons and hitting the JP every couple of days with all 8 of them + WvW kills makes this really easy.
I’ve also learned that you have more of a chance getting badge drops if you’re higher level, whether this is based upon damage output or just the higher level, I’m not quite sure yet.
AoE definitely brings the badges to the yard. If you’re able to throw down some AoE right off the bat, you’ll be raking in the badges once the bodies start piling up.
Also, be sure to be one of the first people doing the damage to your opponent(s), since that also seems to be a big variable in having the badges drop at an increased rate.
Just last night I was in a small group of about 5v5 with my Mesmer: I was able to throw down some AoE (chaos) right off the bat and I was able to pull 10 badges from 5 kills right then. That obviously doesn’t happen every single time, since random/luck also plays a big part, too, but that did happen recently.
Just my two cents.
maguuma
1.- find your server’s zerg
2.- follow your zerg till find enemy zerg.
3.- jump in the middle with shadowstep + dagger storm
4.- shadow return
5.- ????
6.- Badges.

Badge drop rate should be ~18-25% of your kill count, assuming you are getting bags while in a full party.
If you’re doing it solo, I imagine it is as horrifying as some people have described.
For my experience 5000 kills, I have a total of 1200 badges hope it helps you work your math and yeah support guardian is not good for badge farm but gs – staff works fine
and for the record no more than 150 of those badges were farmed from puzzles even less! I hate the jp
Classes that do more single target damage get more badges imo. I played a staff ele for a long time at level 80 and hardly got any badges. I started playing ranger after that and get about 3 times more badges because i can make a larger part of someone red bar go down faster than AoE classes can.
