I want to say that this has been a really fun match, but mostly I’m shocked at how little aggression there is. Even though we’re in third place, I have no complaints. When Yak attacked AB on their Borderland the other day, they didn’t do it with mesmer portals, culling exploits and stacks. They did it through organization and building 3 friggen trebuchets inside the keep. When they hit Redbriar, they hit the one wall I never expected anyone to hit and did so with five catapults.

CD’s not without exemption either. Their placement of siege equipment to attack Redbriar was also impressive. They built a total of three trebuchets to try and counter our advance. Darkhaven won in the end, but I attribute that to CD simply getting outmanned later in the night.

Then weird kittentarted happening when Yak’s essentially replaced CD on that map, leading me to believe CD was the new Ehmry Bay, but I can clearly see that was an anomaly.

Regardless, this has been a good matchup so far. Its a shame that the Halloween events are kind of ruining WvW, but it is good nonetheless. We’ve ascended numerous tiers to get where we are now. Even if we don’t progress any further, fourth tier isn’t bad at all. Ever since SoR’s hacking days we’ve been all over the list. I believe this is where we are meant to be.

Hello, SoS visitor here. I just wanna say CD can match both SoS and SoR scores during the weekend last week so don’t expect them to go down easily.

It’s the re balancing that I see. IoJ 2 weeks ago and SoS last week, both servers have had an influx of quality guilds, CD as such struggled against them. Concurrently we see the decline of ET and HoD but given their scores CD isn’t in the same tier as them. Over the next couple weeks CD will be back up a tier, the tier were in atm is too low.

No, We were mostly neck and neck but Yaks was in the lead the rest of the night after midnight or so central. by a pretty good margin for a while. we had 100% map on Darkhaven borderland and at least 1/2 to 1/3 on every other. i have multiple screenshots of the night some of which show the map but i’m not going to bother posting them. It doesn’t really matter who led for 3 or 4 hours out of the matchup to me.

Yaks wins friday night in every matchup.. thats nothing new for us. We even had 95-100% total map control friday night the week SOR beat us by a huge margin before the Jade Quarry guilds and them transferred over to their server.

it is because we have several extremely good and coordinated guilds with awesome players who know how to shut down a map. but those awesome players don’t stay logged in 24/7.

No, Yaks only started taking the lead AFTER NA prime
time was over, and it was by the smallest of margins. The score gap didn’t even go above 1k. During NA prime time, we had the lead the whole time.

This was because, like i said, CD has a more spread out population, thus we don’t have as much NA as you guys. But once our Asians start to play, it’s a different story.

Sorry, but there is no way CD would lose to Yaks with equal number of players. Just look at the PPT now

NA prime time for Ambrosiaa seems to be the times when CD has a lead, ending when CD does not. Eh well, can’t argue with someone who invents their own reality. Day 2 NA prime time nearing it’s end now. CD who began with all three orbs and near total map control has lost all orbs and is in third as far as map control.

Please stop indicting whole servers for the actions of singular twits.
I’ve been YB since day one, have not, will not, and do not, ever, endorse cheating. Most YB I know feel the same. If you insist on pointing the finger of blame, point it squarely at Anet for not putting an END TO THIS!

I’m gonna have to agree with this guy. That was all messed up. Come on now, play fair.

I am a thief on CD and have been since the game launched. Took a brief hiatus to both HoD and JQ to see if I could possibly glean any new / interesting strategies. None to be had. Simply put – Gv3 revolves around either 24/7 presence (if you are lucky) or bandwagon transfers (if you are not).

Server populations will dictate rank for a while but eventually; although the sheep may flock to certain servers, the most organized servers will win out. Notice I did not say the most populated nor the most skilled – the most organized will win.

Sometimes proper organization will not overcome the onslaught of the masses (que 300) but you will be surprised at how much a proper makeup of 30 , blessed with clear communication and sound tactics, can bring pure devastation to hordes of mainly solo players.

I do not specifically refer to the current match-up but to the “meta-game” as a whole in regards to GW2.

It has been a very good fight thus far in my eyes as a CD combatant. Both of the other servers have exceptionally skilled players from the point of view from this solo thief but I shall remind you again of population/organization. In all honestly the vast majority of the CD populace is weak…..they are only participating in Wv3 now because we are currently winning….and I suppose they have had their fill with candy corn…..

One last thing – I’ve seen much talk about orb “hacking” across a multitude of servers. I would ask that you use the term “hacking” properly – as in a malicious attempt to subvert the CODING of the game. The orb “hackers” for the most part are nothing more than simpletons who have found an area within which certain abilities have granted their characters the ability to traverse certain parts of certain maps with impunity. Calling them “hackers” gives them credit which they do not deserve. I know very little of computer coding yet in my various searches for points of interest I have VIRTUALLY FLOWN across the map. I could never interact with the p.o.i that I was after yet I was still able to FLY all around it.

So yeah – stop the complaints with “hacking”…….because they are not “hacking” per se…..

What you are all witnessing is the fortunate folly of an individual who has learned how to make the game map essentially “warp” to his/her will. Ever play Skyrim and tried to run up a mountain that was essentially impossible to climb yet you found a crevice that allowed you to do it anyway? Same kitten thing.

All Anet has to do is slightly move the orbs from their starting locations and these simple “hacks” (in regards to “orb hacks”) will no longer exist.

Just wanted to throw that out there….

I certainly do not condone such actions but I felt the need to point this simple fact out.

TL/DR best of luck to all 3 sides and I sincerely wish that you all fight it out to the end.

Score Update, seems YB had decent night coverage

As a Yak’s Bend player I have to say that like most servers, our Night Coverage seems to be random. In most cases.. throughout the NA daytime into the just past Midnight hours we hold our own. Pretty sure that once the Transfers are more permanent, we’ll middle out in the rankings because of this.

I’ll also say that as a Server, we don’t condone in the Orb hacking BS. If it’s done, it’s not by the will or blessing of the Server in general so just Screen it if you can and report it.

For the most part, The battles have been pretty even in this match up and I’ve enjoyed it. Keep up the good fight on all sides. It’s been a pleasure thus far.

Well day 2 is over and its been a serious battle so far. Today started off with a few Rethesis guild members on different maps trying to slow down the CD advance. We decided to take three party’s and attack the CD map directly together without any of our Commanders on. We took Redwater camp, then worked on a fully upgraded Redlake Tower. Took the tower while killing some pug CD players that came to defend it. Next took Heroes and lo and behold Original Joker one of Darkhaven’s best Commanders came on and then we took Foghaven, and Shadaran Hills. Once we had hills we had enough of an army to take the orb. I spent about three hours guarding Foghaven until the CD zerg overan us. Which was some fun fighting. Then I spent the rest of the night upgrading, and building seige at SH. Around 8 pm CD came at us with 9 Golems one being an Omega. Melted our North gate, but we destroyed them when they got to inner. Few minutes later CD came at us with 5 golems and again we annihilated them. CD pushed a third time without golems and we killed them all, swept for mesmers, killed the mesmers portallin people in, and finished upgrading our keep. Such good battles in the CD borderlands tonight. Remember CD when Rethisis wants to take an Orb and hold it. We are going to hold it all day and kill any enemy that try to take it from us. Really enjoying the match up, its a shame the other Guilds on Darkhaven can’t hold our Borderlands like they did the last few weeks. See you on the Borderlands, Excelsior!

Day 2 over for me. We had quite a few of us staying up very late, and a job well done Yak’s. Have fun with the unguarded doors CD, we’ll be back for them tomorrow.

CD has a greater base of asian players. So your day is our night and your night is our day. If you think we are hitting unguarded doors, its the same the other way round. We are outmanned in most of our maps when you start to take over the maps. It just happened we managed to clear more of your maps in your night time than the amount you clear in our night time.

This, dont assume that the majority of the population for all servers are NA. CD is mostly filled with Singaporeans and malaysians.

Well, as a commander of YB – you have a freking strong off peak group which can match us at full strength.

Darkhaven was also known for their off-hours crew. Either CD has a much better one or we have been too busy with the Halloween stuff, not sure which but this has been a bit of an eye-opening weekend.

it’s a good week to catch up on pve – global zergs with orb hackers vs mad king …

will be interesting to see what happens thursday-friday when mad king is gone. Too bad it will be too late to matter.

wouldn’t matter either way though, it’s not a balanced fight on several levels. our new commanders need the practice though, so give em hell!! lol

CD wvw regular here. I just want to say that I don’t think the majority of players of the servers that house these hackers condone hacking. If it happened that some of our players were hacking I’d wish the other side would think like that as well. They can’t do anything about their hackers. It is, as we all hope, something that Anet addresses seriously in their upcoming patches.

was just wondering cause those people are constantly like “darkhaven you guys suck, look at the score your being destroyed.” blah blah blah. so i blocked them and just thought i’d ask.

i saw that same activity in other tier 1 fights too – it’s the server hopper crowd. There is no real tier 1 server, just servers all the people who want to desperately win jump to.

Ok, after a good nights sleep, I want to apologize to those Yakers who don’t cheat. Yes, I was upset about the orb hack, as anyone would. But as mentioned, I shouldn’t label the whole for the actions of the few. To you I apologize. As for the hacker, I just want to say thank you. It’s obvious that at least YOU are frightened of the Darkhavian army, otherwise you wouldn’t have cheated to get our orb. That is a great compliment that the enemy has to cheat in order to win! Again, thanks for the compliment!

i agree, my condolences to the honest players on both servers in this match – the fights were intense, but unfortunately it seems you are plagued with the winners virus heh…. we started seeing some of that in our last match – fortunately it seems they will be hopping to new servers for this match.

I noticed it yesterday on a run where 3 people built a catapult and 1 person built a flame ram on a cliff like 5k distance away from the wall lol – we laughed it off and suggested the guy flames people when they came at us haha!

I always see this “I saw an Orb get hacked” yet they somehow can’t find the Print Screen button on their keyboard. Alternatively, target and right-click.

The only Yak’s hackers that have evidence against them have been free transfers.

Talking about orb hacking really serves no purpose in this thread. Submit bug reports along with screenshots, that is absolutely the only productive thing we can do about it.

This is an interesting fight, it’s a tale of 3 different time zones really, being aussie i’m only guessing at the time zones here but from what i’m seeing it goes like this:

DH very strong in US Est prime time
YB US PST Primetime through to Aussie Eastern Prime time,
And then CD’s Asian guilds come on just after that and reak havok.

The inbetween times seems to be fairly evenly matched, although CD seem to be slightly worse off than both YB and DH.

As I said I maybe out a little with the time zone because I can’t be bothered looking it up propperly but roughly that’s what I’m seeing.

Each match up will have it’s idiots, these idiots reside on all servers, thankfully for 98% of this match up the idiots have been minimal. Lets hope it stays that way, because the match is turning out into a fasinating one, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out when every one in all timezones are back working

It has been a fun weekend. The whole time I was playing it went back and forth. When I logged CD was really coming on strong and took our Orb. They seemed to have quite a zerg while we only had about 20 people in the whole region. This back and forth nature makes this match up very exciting. Haing to play against good foes like DH and CD have helped my guild develop some good strategies. So well done to them for sticking it out all weekend and making us all work very hard.

And Kudos to the Yak commander who gave back an ill-gotten orb. I only heard about it, but it was a pretty classy thing to do. Unlike the odd nitwit who seems to think that ill-gotten gains are good in any shape, manner or form. I know a person who cheated would get to boot from our guild or from most guilds on our server.

Well it’s been a fun weekend! I tried commanding as best I could but this halloween event really killed alot of our WvW pop. had 100 people on and only 10 in WvW. lol

Oh well, been fun. I’ll be gone for the next 10 days cause the navy thinks going out to sea is good for you. psh…i know how to push a button and launch a missle…c’mon..

Hello. I am French (European) player. There is not only asian player base on CD… We did good job and reached 300points per tick. As CD-Commander, I was leading on our own borderland: I would like to thanks every CD fighters who helped our [LORD] guild to take over in few hours. Some good job also on other maps were going at same time. Now we own all 3 orbs and we will keep fighting. This is also my first post . This week is gonna be fun so good luck and good fight for all sides.

I hate to say this, but Yaks Bend and CD…. Destroy Darkhaven… Utterly annihilate us. Darkhaven has no idea how to win at WvW…. With the exception of the very few of us, nobody on this server defends anything. We need a good thrashing to hopefully get our people thinking! It kills me to say these things, but its the only way. Because one of two things will happen…. Either people jump ship, or they start getting the idea and defend!
