Guild Wars 2

I have been playing WvW for a long time now. I enjoy the game and enjoy the close knit community of fellow players. It has come to a point where enough people have left that there is a significant imbalance. With the advent of the mega server and the inability to reach out my server is dying. We have no way to reach out and connect with others to try WvW. If they do come they do not know that they need gear, specs, food and buffs to compete. People do not know that they will most likely get rolled and have no support.

Since it has come to a point on my server that its very close to extinction due to:

1. Only 4 active guilds left
2. No night or early morning coverage
3. Nobody left to defend (see 1.)
3. The imbalance on match-ups
4. Other server guilds “paying for transfers”
5. People leaving for “better servers”
6. People leaving for better games

Due to the lack of support from the developers to fix the general mechanics (Maybe the gum gum drops and Foosball tables are getting to their heads). This game now is loosing my interest and I am not wanting to spend the money to transfer. This is due to the fact if its not tier 1 it will have similar issues.

If anyone has some great MMORPG’s to try let me know. I am loosing hope in the developers of this game.

grind some gold and transfer to another server, dont have to use money. You really like wvw and the game as you say, but you come here to ask for a new game to play? Most of us have been in this position, I watched my server that I was on for 22 months go from #1 to t8, that doesnt mean you cant have fun anymore. So stop whining and complaining about people leaving for other games when your posting here for suggestions about other better games to play. Find a new server and get a fresh start, many of us have done that, its not the end of the world.

your choices are limited to only free-to-download / free-to-play games. it doesn’t make sense to pay for a new game because you’re trying to avoid paying to transfer servers in a game you already know you like. if your choices are to pay to transfer in a game you know you like, versus paying for a new game you might like or you might not, it seems less risky to just stick with what you know.

PlanetSide 2 is free to download / free to play. you might give that a try, although its system requirements are quite a bit higher than Guild Wars 2’s. and of course it has a very different feel (more sci-fi, less fantasy) but in terms of WvW it still has good gameplay — fun and varied terrain, rock-paper-scissors unit types, siege via vehicles, fixed objectives, etc.

Gold to gems exchange has been been better recently. Yesterday it was 228 gold to get 1800 gems. Better to do dungeons for a couple of hours a day for a couple of weeks (assuming you have no gold to start with) than switching to a new MMORPG altogether.

ArcheAge is free to play and their castle system might have good PVP fights, no idea. I hate the labor system and bailed shortly after castles were released. I never got to the point of seeing fierce castle battles. Class balance seems like a major issue in that game too.

I guess Rift with conquest, but I haven’t played Rift in years and I have no idea if they still have conquest or if it’s healthy. And I don’t think they have siege.

WoW and it’s battle grounds I guess. Isle of Conquest does have siege and a capture the keep. /shrugs

People seem to like and are excited about Evolve. No siege, and it’s a 5v1 battle. A team against a loan monster. It does look interesting, but I know nothing about it.
