We have a almost half of the people on the server switch for free to other servers I just found out. I WvW (Eternal Battlegrounds) we do not have enough people to compete with the other servers playing. Add more people to the server or take and redistribute the players to other servers and take out the Eredon Terrace server all together. It clearly is not balanced and as I have repeated it, the servers should have same amount of players playing there at a same time. If they don’t then you have a problem and it becomes unjustified and cowardly. That’s like killing an ant with a giant. Right now, I encountered Kain which has over 50 people taking over areas that we can’t keep because they and Ebay have more people to help kill us and more resources to take from ET server. How would you like to be on a server with only 20 people or less playing against 50 or more at a time? Its not the players that I’m complaining about but the amount of players playing there at the same time.

If it makes you feel any better, Ebay is only down here with you guys because our server as a whole lost a fair amount of guilds during the first season, and a few more as season 2 started. Also WvW basically comes down to “how much does your server prefer to WvW then PvE?” Were just now getting people back into WvW to recover from the amount we lost the first season.

Meh if you gonna complain go to a higher tier server. ET has seen much much worse, hell some weeks we have 15ppl for reset, other times you got 2ppl defending a 30man blob. Its the price we pay for sticking to this server. So either get used to it or get out.

Once I accepted that “World vs. World” was really another way of saying “Coverage Wars”, I found that my own patience grew immensely.

Matches are decided by who has the most coverage at any given time. Kaineng and Ehmry Bay have more people than Eredon Terrace. Kaineng even has a “night crew” that reduces both of our servers to 15ppt at various times.

We on ET can recruit our PvE players, we can spend more time in WvW on an individual level, and we can do a few other things. At the end of the day though, you can’t squeeze blood from a turnip. It is what it is and I suspect our WvW population may continue to decline the further we get into the season as we are matched against servers that outnumber us much more than KN and Ebay and the frustration level continues to rise.

If you’re on Eredon Terrace and you expect, at least in the short term, to consistently be #1, then you’re going to have a bad time. Savor and enjoy the fights when numbers are equal. Enjoy the Community and camaraderie. Get on TeamSpeak and have a good laugh, or cry, with us.

I can assure you of one thing, though: There are many of we “hardcore” ET’ers that subscribe to the “never say die” philosophy. We’ll be out there every day doing everything we can. With such a small fighting force, every single person makes a difference. Every. Single. One. As an example, we took an opponents Bay yesterday with 3 people. THREE people.

We might be deterred once, twice, or ten times. But we’re a tenacious bunch. We’ll keep coming back no matter what.

When I first started really playing WvW on ET, it was when the top server in the match-up was finishing with three times our score and we were lucky if we could hold a single tower in the Eternal Battlegrounds for even a few minutes between being spawn camped. Yes, there are times when the enemy has so many more numbers that they can pretty much take anything they want from us, but I think we’ve been pretty competitive during prime time. No, we aren’t always winning in PPT but we are keeping it close, which keeps the game play entertaining. What will be worse is if ANet starts putting us against servers in the tiers above us again which have much larger populations than Ehmry Bay or Kaineng.

That said, I do think that handicapping the game so that lower population servers are more competitive against higher population servers or servers with much better coverage in terms of points and/or winning fights would be a good thing. No professional sport or competitive game would survive if they let the players bandwagon to a handful of winning teams leaving it impossible for others to even think about winning. They all have handicapping in one for or another.
