Oh oh. Do you remember season 1? Glicko and Swiss Tournament are definitely better than people. I’ll take holiday from the forum when ANet make matches manually and the people know that.
We will see which solution the overhaul bring.

Manual intervention when the Glicko fails to respond fast enough is needed.
But I believe the best (for a tournament at least) would be my suggestion of a Modified Swiss Tournament based on Glicko.
The big difference between eu servers and NA is that most OCX/sea are on the NA servers. Some servers can just dominate a single timezone against much smaller forces wracking up ppt keeping them propped up – hello SOS…..

There is another big difference: language specific server
They reduce the overstacking trend
You did well one week, but it takes a few week to catchup, else servers could push 1 week and then negate months of less points.
One problem with the current system is that rarely does the 3rd place server in the tier face the upcoming server so they can duke it out. (This does not hold in the EU as they are more equally distributed).
I’d tell you server mates to push the PPT. SoS doesn’t really belong in tier2 with their current numbers and I believe it would be more fun for everybody (including SoS) if they dropped to tier 3.
SoS’s time in T2 is numbered. TC and FA both want SoS out of T2.
All I can say is keep up the good work and you’ll have a more permanent spot in T2 before you know it.
I thoroughly enjoyed having DB in T2, there were some quality fights early in the week, something SoS hasn’t given us in many, many months – You guys deserved to win last week!

That’s a 38 match win streak.
now obviously we’ve been gaining slowly since that time.
But if they can see the fault of their ranking system in pvp and start awarding streak mmr then the same principles should allow slacking or tryharding servers to gain and lower ranks faster in wvw too.
Glicko is meant to keep people from losing tons of mmr from unpredictable matchup loss streaks or gain tons. That’s a problem for huge player bases and smurf accounts. It solves a problem wvw doesn’t have, and in ‘solving’ it, it stagnates movement between matchups to the point where everyone is just kind of sick of seeing the same tactics and fights over and over

Best WvW I’ve had. Even when we were outnumbered and desperately trying to use up supply on repairs before you took the towers it was great. The clashes were awesome. SMC flipping every 5 minutes between all 3 servers for over an hour was insane. Can’t wait to play against servers like you 2 again where it’s an actual fight.
Congrats to DB on beating FA and TC. You won T2 last week. That is now fact.
Continue to do that each second week if you roll up and you will gain enough Glicko to be a permanent member of T2.
With luck you can settle in one of the top 2 spots.
For TC and FA, just play normally or play the same from now until Glicko changes or you may undo all glicko gains/losses when you revert to a previous pattern.
Not the best example. I wasn’t active at this point in time, but I can guarantee you BG pushed hard in order to stay in t1, while SoS and FA tanked because they definitely didn’t want BG stuck in t2. Week 36 would be a better example, but it probably has problems too.
On SoS we didn’t tank—we didn’t have to. BG’s hordes completely overwhelmed us for 20 hours out of the day. Worse yet, they were mostly good fighters too instead of the mindless drones of YB.
FA might have tanked because FA does stuff like that, idk.
