Since it now takes 20 successful dolyak deliveries for a camp to upgrade, this mission is no longer viable. The time limit has been extended to 60 minutes, but who in the world will stand around a camp that long?

You do know that guild missions are fire and forget right? You pop the mission, cap the camp, leave it. You can be anywhere in the zone, you will still get awarded if the mission completes.

Sure it take longer, annoying as kitten and should get tweaked (who had the bright idea that camps should take so long to upgrade?) but its most definetly viable.

Lets be honest, wvw guild missions were absurdly easy so far. There should be at least some effort put into guild missions, and there should be possibility to fail them, specially when enemy works against you.

I am not saying current version is the best one as it requires you to hold all the towers and keeps around the camp too. I would prefer something like “capture a camp and hold it for 20 minutes” instead. No dollies needed to reach anything, simply take the camp and then guard it or leave it and hope enemy wont retake it.

I agree that some difficulty should be involved, but not a ridiculously long wait. And unless you are doing the mission in the middle of the night, when there is a chance nobody will take the camp during the hour you are elsewhere on the map, guarding it against attack is the only alternative. Besides, this is the “easy” mission. They simply need to come up with a decent alternative.

Not really an issue of difficulty; heck I siege up camps for guild missions for the sake of comedy.

But there’s certainly an issue with time:reward ratio, and as par the course for WvW is terrible. On average, guild missions do not take anywhere close to an hour, and that just turns people off. It’s not like it rewards more commendations.

Make it a flat 20-30 minutes of defense or maybe hold 2 things for 15 minutes.

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards,
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Its not hard to guard a camp its just tedious.

My guild got 11 guild commendations in 1 hr 20 minutes of PvE guild missions last night. This WvW guild mission alone may take an hour and also has a high chance of failing (yak gets picked off, supply camp gets blobbed) and it’s really boring too. They should just make you hold it for 15 minutes. It shouldn’t take way longer than the PvE missions.

EB seems easier as the dolyaks move quite fast now. We did it in about 20 minutes using Umberglade which is in our side, but of course we were lucky that it could be flipped. Without it I wouldn’t even be sure where to go. The other thing is we actually had other folks defending Bravost and Durios. And this again pushes it towards EB because the bls are so spread out where you are unlikely to receive any outside help.

Problem is that is you really need to keep nearby towers intact and there’s really nothing you can do if the enemy zerg comes. So the best to do this is get a camp on your side…. but then it’s more likely you’ll be holding the camp on your side anyways— running into exactly the same problem that plagued pve temples— how do you capture something that you won’t lose anyways? Or more importantly, people don’t want to lose.

The same applies to enemy borderlands; the camps most likely for you to viably finish the mission without making a huge push into their borderlands are also most likely to be flipped.

So basically if your server has a strong presence in the area, you may be able to just sit around. If not, it’s going to be a drag if your guild group is small.
