warrior is still in a bad state. If gunflame is getting nerfd look in to classes like dh, druid, scrapper and rev aswell. Condi also overall. Speci to be on par with old builds to get a bigger spec option. Main war since launch, still preform better on rev (3weeks playtime) same gear. But ye still no fan of gunflame, think the old builds are way more fun to play but weak as hell. But since anet have decided to do speci stronger, gunflame needs to hit for a stupid amount.

There is a difference between a skill and the profession in itself. Nobody want to see war get nerfed overall. However, gunflame is clearly way too good a skill when we compare it to any other and what you sacrifice vs what you get in return.

That skill is not alone to be guilty but it’s probably the worse of it’s kind (one button kill property).

I’ll learn to counter it when it stops instant downing me in large fights.. If I had 1% health left I’d be happy because then I could try to counter. Getting instant downed is the friggin problem. Stop saying learn to play or learn to counter. If this is a learn to play issue so is ever single complaint EVER

Should blame your zerg for that,reflect lines are normally being popped forcing gunflamers and heavy range to go to the sides..Also note we have 1200 range not 1500.Also there is no way you’re getting insta downed by it,if you do..that’s all on you.

on normal rifle skills we have 1200 range, but gunflame has 1500

The “too much damage from gun flame” is part of a larger issue in the game and that the new specs having introduced builds that through various traits can heal through or ward off a whole lot of damage (druid/scrapper). Take out skills that hit hard and these builds are harder to kill. leave the skill as is and builds that do not have that same level of sustain and mitigation die to one shot.

You then have classes with great disparity between the amount of health available overall (Necro compared to ele and thief as example) which is premised on the amount of health given each class on release when none of these uber powerful attacks existed.

I think a first step is normalizing the amount of health available base to each profession so there not as great a discrepancy.

I don’t agree, I think ANet need to pull their fingers out of whatever oriface they have them in and take the elite specs back a notch or two. Though I do agree bringing the damage of things down without looking at the sustain of others is folly.

I’m ok with the elite specs bringing something the classes lacked but being a straight up better choice than almost everything else you could do with the class is the problem. Sadly for most classes the elite specs are hands down just better.

I mean compare gunflame with kill shot. Gunflame does the same damage as a lvl 2 kill shot with none of the animation or cast time drawbacks (drastically reduced because of fatal frenzy, a minor), hits faster and has a much lower cool down.

Gunflame is the ONLY non-channeled skill routinely able to one shot me. There isn’t another one even close to this one. I will say again that no skill on any class/build that isn’t channeled should have this capability. Zero. The fact that Gunflame has several other nasty effects (daze, 1500 range, burning, piercing, AoE) certainly doesn’t help the situation.

Some items worth reiterating: Many players believe Warriors need more skill buffs. Warriors do not have to go full zerk to maximize the DPS from this skill due to Burst Precision. WvW is more than just duels. In WvW players cannot see every shot coming especially at range so all skills should have some wiggle room.

Oh and if you are constantly dying to a thief, stay with the zerg when running a zerg build or update the build. Thieves are in a crappy state right now especially against pretty much any of the elites and some of the non-elites. This is why they got several buffs last balance patch.

You are just wasting your time,x-ppl will come and tell you dodge/block/invul one even said you should do it for JUST 15sec.And devs made this ability in first place,so we have to live with it as with many other things.

Side note: we could make a tourney of best responce,i found some “clever” ones in here,maybe if we get it all into one thread,we might at least laugh a bit.

I took several gunflame hits on my necro today. It’s hysterical. If you can pull it off and one shot people… I say go for it! Only got downed once btw, my guild mates rescued me. The rifle boy had his fun and I got a good laugh out of it. Besides, warriors have it pretty bad right now anyways. Let them have their fun.

Other profession have it bad too though and they don’t have a push a couple of buttons 2 win. Thing is it is pretty deadly and if you put deadly tools in skilled players hands it becomes even worse. Oh well. Just something else we have to live with until something is done I guess.. Its not like every day it happens to me over and over again but everytime I do get instant downed it comes from this skill.

Yep. It’s not as kittenome of the other HoT kitten around. You did nail it though… “skill” has taken on a whole new meaning nowadays.
