Just got out of EB. A lot of doom and gloom in the HoD chat. But to be honest it’s to be expected, for quite a lot of us this is a bit of a first :P

JQ really stepped up their game and it’s frightening how effective a fighting machine they are now. You guys have really outdone yourselves and have every right to be proud of your accomplishment. I don’t think there’s a server right now that can honestly come close to the level of organization you guys have going on.

I do wish more HoDians would stop QQing about why we are losing and instead look ahead to what we can do to improve our game. I feel HoD is going to be in a transitory period for a while and it’s gonna hurt. The main central leadership is essentially gone, people are going to be leaving / coattail riding to the next big winner (JQ, fair warning – be prepared for this! ) and for all intents and purposes we’re back to square 1 as far as having any sort of server-wide organization goes. Still, I’m confident that with time we can rebuild ourselves and remain a competitive force to be reckoned with.

That being said, I’m honestly looking forward to next week’s matchups with JQ/SBI/HoD, assuming HoD is still in tier 1 by then. You can bet we’ll be out for redemption after this week

I’d like to give a little credit and a shout out to the Commanders on Jade Quarry for their role in the JQ surge. People aren’t simply chasing the pretty blue dimple. We’re working not only on strategies but tactics as well, taking time to plan and try out different attack styles, etc. and it’s the commanders that are really stepping up and making it happen.

A zerg isn’t a zerg when everyone has a role and a plan.

I didnt get much chance to play this matchup aside from friday night, but the commanders on JQ, in JQ Borderlands, were indeed awesome, which was a refreshing change from the lack of any meaningful strategy on ET in EB (switched 4 days before the match-up for new guild reasons, before you insinuate)

Friday night queues on JQ are going to be hilarious… Don’t you just love the bandwagon? heheheh

If your third place you might as well be an RP server.

Fact is that JQ is an active community with a team speak dedicated to WvW, there are multiple strategy sessions every night, communication between maps, guilds and scouts is unbelievable. Our “zerg” uses our TS and listens to commanders, takes direction well and learning quickly. We use the commander pins extremely effectively. We are proud of what we have accomplished this week and it isn’t a result of any of the whining above. We played kitten hard, put in some serious hours where we knew that if we logged off we would fall behind – so we stayed on. For every push we tried to mass a counter. This has been the most I have had in WvW. Period.

Our guild left JQ because of the queues. The players were great but we prefer to actually pvp, rather than sit in a queue all night.

Now that JQ is on top, the band wagon players are all on your server. But by your comments it is obvious you enjoy pvping against a queue more than actual pvp in the game… So you should be very happy friday night

It was fun while it lasted, while its definitely a good frustration, I am glad there are still guilds on HoD like GIN and PRX that are still giving us a good run in the last few days, although the action has died off a little since yesterday. Also for FOO/FOER from ET for hitting anybody no matter what.

And also RUIN on ET for what someone mentioned earlier “Mongolian tactics” by farming karma. ET lacked the numbers on all maps, so RUIN just gathered ALL their forces and just zerged each map, took over points, then changed maps. As much as we can frown upon it since it does provide the “X factor” in the 3 way matchup, I have to say I’m sure they are having fun doing that.

I have noticed a couple or so new people in BGs popping over from other servers, and perhaps a former hoD or 2. Its to be expected, even though it changes up things. It was fun trying to beat HoD, but I guess at this point with TA breaking, and people transferring out, its kind of anti-climatic for JQ who worked so hard to try to beat or at least come close to beating HoD at its prime. Nevertheless it was worth it in the end.

We have been getting better Pug/guild support on WvW, from having people escort yaks, people scouting on different parts of the map and upgrading things on their own, and donating to each other. We are still having issues with people listening and getting on teamspeak and instead following the zerg, but by the time people get all their pvp gear from badges and karma they need, hopefully the ones who stay in WvW start to contribute more to pvp effort.

I also wanted to give a shout out to some of the guilds on JQ just so they can be recognized on here (I know I’ll miss some but I’m sure I’ve seen you guys or at least know of you).

[TW] Tempest Wolves- a very elite guild of good players, usually Charr/Asura, Indo/Daboss/Pico
[JP] Jagapotatoes, but they are mostly japanese. Pretty cool
[WPAK] I forgot the name, but I just remember the Golem commander Hawthorne
[ESOL] Elite Solidarity: My guild, Rawnoodles and and Vaen Naeth the leaders
[FIRE] A big guild with the commanders Agress and Aress, their voices are renowned on TS3
[MMAC]Mixed martial arts and crafts: Meenace and Bluntaki, a very big presence on battlegrounds
[DC] The korean guild that we can’t really communicate with that well but comes on in the morning
[FS] Fong Shen, I also can’t really communicate with them but I THINK they are Chinese… dunno.

If history repeats itself and when I say history I mean what has just happened with HoD and guilds breaking up,

I am pretty sure JQ will get bored or something and split up as well. I know I would stop playing if there was no challenge. Its definitely not that fun going 30v5 in a server. If world transfers remain free there will always be that one server that the bandwagon flocks to for their WvW dominance which really hurts WvW overall.

Every server except JQ , HoD, ET, SBI are all ghost towns in WvW or only have enough players to max out only one borderlands. Lack of interest is a huge factor in this as well. People who want to play WvW will join the WvW servers which are the ones I mentioned.

I agree… I feel that eventually (at least in terms of WvW) everyone will flock to the top 5-6 servers… not necessarily because they want to win, but because they want to play with actual people and not just hit doors and npcs.

You know HoD/TA did all this but were trolled for being bad the whole time. Get used to being spat on, comes with winning.

Don’t bet on it. HoD has been full for weeks. If bandwagoners want to move, they will find a way.

@Zierk; I could have transfered to JQ this morning so please stop saying it’s not possible.

You can get on to JQ easy if you go at the right time.

However, something inside stopped me from doing it though.

But after reading that statement, I am inclined to prove you wrong and move over just to show you it can be done….

I can’t speak for anyone else on HoD, but personally I’ve been avoiding WvW lately due to my aversion to dying from invisible hordes. If/when they fix the rendering issue, I’ll participate more. Until then, I’ll only participate sparingly.

All you have to do to transfer is wait until morning and do it when the server is high instead of full.

Wish to thank the two guardians from JQ who thought it would be cool too exploit their way to destroy our siege in a fully walled/doored lowland keep this evening. Bravo!

Btw, this was at least 30 mins before JQ actually took it if anyone is going say.

We watched these dudes, one from [DC] and another from [ML] who magically got up from the water and onto the wall many many times. Did infact kill them a few times but they kept coming back.

Was to busy fighting them off to even get chance to report or get their account names, sadly. Have a screen shot but that is of little use. Hopefulley someone else got their account names….probably not though since there was only around 10 of HoD left in EB at that point. Sigh.

I can tell you that the people that have played on JQ from the start do not condone exploiting in anyway, I can’t speak for the others.

It’s easy to point fingers, but unless you took a screenshot of every possible entrance as well there’s really no way to prove it, there is a water gate as well.

Be happy it’s only seige and not all 3 of your orbs on day two all within an hour. I’m surprised that little stunt didn’t completely demoralize JQ. Or maybe it just fueled the fire.

DC is a Korean guild. Dunno about the other one though. Either way, it’s too easy to move around and join any guild these days, it’s really not fair by any means to call people out based on server or guild. Heck even a bad enough apple will cause grief to its own guild if it can. Who’s to blame then?

Ok so I have an Idea for HoD. I know that since the TA disband most of us have been qqing about whats going to happen and most of the guilds in the alliance jumped ship. Its true that we dont have much of a presence in WvWvW anymore, but why not change that. Seems to me that there are way to many smaller guilds running around and our commanders really dont command anymore…. Since my guild transfered off, Me along with some of the members of TDA have decided to form our own guild and are currently trying to recruit and form alliances. It will take some time to get back to where we were but at least SoR is trying…

Back on topic. HoD has had a couple successful night taking objectives back. I’m not sure how long that will last. Last night was much better than the night before. We probably still will not show good next week. SI is tough. HoD still has the desire and ability, though, when we get the numbers.

Well I personally will be relieved if we win next week and the following week because we, according to the ta standards, will have beaten the game. I can’t wait

A mega server that is easily winning all it’s matches will ultimately implode.

The game has devolved in WvW to the point that losing servers either can’t compete due to transfers, resulting in a lack of numbers. Worse yet, they simply quit by mid week leaving the dominate server owning 90% of the map and a 300K point lead. The end result is the same, no WvW action.

Free transfers is the fuel that will eventually burn WvW down to the ground.

WvW maps are a ghost town outside of tier 1 and 2? Why? Because the game lacks progression at 80.. But at least SpvP gets an iceberg.. Which btw is a horrible blog post that basically said nothing.

HoD went down the tube when the guilds leaders (not members) decided they beat the game and left their people who still wanted to play high-and-dry. 24/7 coverage is non existent and on some maps we don’t even have more than 20 people on it.

Jade Quarry will suffer the same faith as HoD when their guilds get bored of roflstomping their competition because people are transferring / stacking on JQ now because it’s the only server consistently full.

Water gate was FINE. No way I am going to bother wasting my time to prove it to the JQ forum warriors; screen shots will prove nothing. Only a full out fraps vid will do that, but I didn’t have it up. Me and a few others on HoD do know they had to cheat to kill a couple crappy siege weapons which is pretty pathetic imo.

Any rate, HoD is done.

Diference is, hod never roflstoped on US prime time.. they allways did US nightcaping poind lead that demoralized other servers.. nothing else.

All the nights i played in the past weeks, JQ was equal or beter in potential points compared to HoD, in my borderland.. and i played wvw 10 hours a day..

So yeah.. TA leader got bored of roflstomping doors.. not the competition..

Fixit, I’m on JQ and I’m not doubting you for a second. I can say, though, that the core of the WvW community here, those on TS and really trying to do it right, do not in any way condone such actions and even the mere mention of something that sounds like hacking or even simply insulting others on TS are immediately called out. It’s not to be tolerated. I hope you were able to report them and you can be sure that we’ll be reporting people even on our own server if we catch them cheating like that.

It’s going to suck if a few cheats immigrate to our server and tarnish what we’ve set out to accomplish. I’m not afraid to eat my own to keep that from happening.

Lol, if you want to cling to the notion that HoD was only good because of nightcapping, go ahead. It doesn’t matter now, anyway. All I have to say is: enjoy the queue times this weekend.

One day soon the good guilds will learn to leave quietly out the backdoor. And then for some weeks, we will all get the WvW we were hoping for.

because HoD and ET were to busy griefing the jumping puzzle, JQ captured both of thier keeps, including all thier towers for a full map control and then flushed them out of jumping puzzle.

jumping puzzle is JQ only for now. and HoD and ET both need to learn that while its ok to have some people in that puzzle. it isnt worth it if someone is taking your keep.

I really want to give props to ET on this week though.

Part of the reason JQ was able to knock henge off their pedestal was really because ET was in this fighting for a chance at winning it all.

They could have eeked out staying in Tier 1 if they were willing to act as dedicated spoilers and going for second instead.

The end result is that the point totals this week really don’t portray how close this could have been.

ET did do a good job, that propaganda that was spread on monday suggesting that JQ and ET were allied really helped push HoD out. they werent allied, but JQ did make sure HoD couldnt hit ET while ET took back their lands from HoD.

the effect of this was increased morals for both JQ and ET and demoralizing HoD. the effects of which are still evident.

tuesday, ET got a little to confident, not knowing how much of the effort pushing HoD back was actually JQ. and hit some of JQ’s keeps. JQ responded and thats whats its been like ever since. JQ owning all the maps.

ET is a good server, i will admit that. thier weakness (besides the apparent lack of communication compared to JQ) is that they dont seem ot have a night crew. HoD on the other hand has an amazing night crew, but thier day crew is just a random zerg…not effective.

communication is key. if HoD’s night crew were to move to ET then JQ and ET would be close to be equal. that is, if the ET/HoD hybrid were to use teamspeak like JQ does.

why am i saying this? no, it isnt to give my enemies ways to beat us(or fight us to a draw) i say this cause i want ot see tier 1 servers all equal in strength so we can have truly epic fights.

When HoD and SBI were both in tier 1, it wasnt right. as SBI didnt attack HoD as much as they should have.

WvW should have the bottom 2 servers attacking the first place server. which is why i like this week’s match.

ET, you have my respect and i hope to see you guys continue to grow into a force to be considered.

@arenta: hello coat tail rider, obviously new to JQ who does not know that they have been doing this for weeks, camping the JP with gank crews.

p.s. telling us night crew to go to ET is insulting. How about you go to ET and help them then and even up the servers? Hahaha, as if.

SBI had a 40,000 point lead at the end of the weekend. HoD was being pushed off borderland maps. SBI pressed them hard. It wasn’t until they got workday night caps rolling that HoD over took SBI. HoD gained more during night capping periods than SBI could recapture in primetime.

Not complaining about night capping as it good to have full coverage. However, during prime time, HoD was (it’s dead now so gets past tense) not any better than SBI, JQ, or ET. In fact most prime times ticks SBI, JQ, and ET had more points than HoD.

SBI never teamed with HoD. SBI got severely demoralized when they lost a 40,000 point lead in two night capping sessions.

JQ doesn’t get demoralized. We’re just playing for fun, but playing hard for fun. And playing to win, even if we don’t win. Attitude is everything. ET has some of it. HoD lost it all because one guy and a guild decided to give up in WvW.

It is exciting to see all our hard work, dedication, commitment to #1, community organization, and laid back attitude pay off.

It is boring! Wish HoD and ET would come back out to play. We’ve worked hard for weeks to take #1 but wasn’t expecting it to just be given to us. C’mon guys get back out there and fight.
