I don’t understand why fsp and piken square got a link and seafarer’s rest and deso didn’t?
Both piken and fsp are strong enough as is and were t1 (piken admittedly with link, but fsp without link). I know I don’t have access to wvw data or anything, maybe sfr/deso showed higher activity in the last weeks? but it seems like the links make very little sense.

Also I may add that KDR wise the last t1 MUs have been the most balanced we have possibly ever had on t1 (all kds close to 1), fights were nice and even..ppt was imbalanced but I know few ppl in eu t1 that give a “kitten” about ppt.

Why put a link to fsp, they are already (probably) the strongest fight-server on eu? now so many good players will just transfer to fsp for easy fights, we already lost entire guilds on RS, and probably a lot of players that understand you can just spend 100 gold to stomp everything in wvw

I have to admit, will all due respect, that this decision feels like the devs may not be as well connected to EU wvw as they are to NA wvw

I have to agree with this. Piken is overstacked tot he teath and they got a link. FSP managed on their own and yet they got links, whilst Deso was so empty last week and the few we met we rotfl-stomped most of the week. Sfr have been super empty since long, so how come Piken the overstacked server have a link and sfr dont? It looks like something went wrong with the links.

EU has been even more unbalanced then NA for a while now, what happened to the guilds spreading out for even matchups thing EU had going on for couple of years?

Can someone from Anet please comment on WHY are the linkings like this?

Why 2 T1 servers one full and the other very high have linkings, and servers like sfr don’kittens

the worse linking they pulled out, just merge already you clearly have no idea what you’re doing, a 5yo kid would do it better.

It does not make the slightest bit of sense, i have completely lost faith in what Anet is doing with server links. Piken just rolls over any matchup for 6 weeks and yet they get linked, so all the bandwagon can stay there for easy wins. FSP is strongest fight server and gets a link, already people are moving there in masses to get carried. Desolation and SFR who are not anywhere nearly as strong as those two get NO links. No one can tell me that there is any plan here, that this does anthing but destroy most servers and WvW overall as a game mode. I alwys thought the theory about them wanting to make money through transfers was crazy, but now i can’t find any other rtational explanation. That or they want to get rid of WvW altogether, which will happen inevitably if all but two servers are basically dead and communities get destroyed on a monthly basis. Honestly, why not turn the servers off now and save us the slow death?

Piken has dominated T1 for 4 weeks with zero competition from both FSP and Riverside, solely due to massive numbers.

Hopefully the links will shuffle it up a bit, otherwise we are back to the same kittening stalemate of one server to dominate them all.

Because they think AG will be saved with 2 links.
Piken isn’t really that stacked though, queues aren’t that bad, especially compared to Vabbilation when the linking tests started.

This is NO excuse, because I am pretty sure overall numbers have went down.

In fact I very well remember a time in 2012-2014, when there was a prime time queue to ALL 4 maps without ANY server links and the maps limits were higher back then.

Deso had a “full” server status, while having NO queue to ANY map at prime time and NO queues outside prime either or occasionally having a very short 1-10 player queue to 1 map. That just tells that the Arenanet formulas related to server population status are indeed a bad joke.

The sad reality is:
1. Arenanet developers NEVER understood WvWvW at all
2. WvWvW still lacks rewards (where is the ascended item vendor, legendary/ascended backbag, gold per h similar to pve farm?)
3. skill & profession balance when it comes to WvWvW has been a really bad joke

Just fix #2, then the numbers are already going to be much better. And then fix #3.

This week’s match up is pretty good for SFR since its Very high population server. SFR vs 3 linked server vs 3 linked server. I dont see the problem, now tell me. How high are the chances SFR will win this match up?

There are probably less players on the Main server, they’re either Full or Very High populated these days, when they’re not.

Nobody understands the linkins, cause they don’t make any sense.

I still don’t know why some servers are linked, I guess there’s a handful of servers that have to be linked that would be way too strong without a counterbalance which in turn leaves pools of not very high population servers being meshed together like AG. They then have to give them something to fight like an unlinked SFR that they can manage.

I think they need to split up the national servers a little so they don’t end up with a map blob on each map because they have to link 3 of them together.

At least I might be able to go deer hunting this linking…

well in NA the #9 server got no link and #3 and #4 both got 2 links… They don’t understand NA either……

It is not possible to create equal teams with the world linking. Stop expecting it would.

It currently is not possible for us to establish an “equal” number of players on each link/world with the current world sizes.

lol you are clueless, if you are actively playing either of those three server you would ‘ve known that piken have numbers without any other server but it’s clearly not over-stacked that so-called dominated is due to fsp sleeping and bored from ppt not from lack of numbers while riverside on the other hand they don’t sleep and they are hard tryers they caping kitten like crazy

Let me tell you something deso was top before all the time because of the linked server,it went down when it lost it and people who choose to stay and transferred to deso are those numbers you are seeing them but Fsp on the other hand attracted people and get good transfers to it without any linked sever and Fsp is definitely with most numbers on it’s own.
So noone is stoping people to transfer to Deso but people not willing to throw 1800 gems

Archi from Far Shiverpeaks here. In all honesty I whilest we (Fsp) do have the potential, only a handfull off us actually work on points per tic. If you were to look at for example the kill death ratio’s I think that offers a far better view on our server.

Either way, before you praise Piken who has been linked for over 3 months to us where we had to keep our head up single handed. Take a look at this week, we finally received reinforcements from Vabbi and let me put it this way. Piken is nowhere to be found at this point now their old link is gone. We’re partying in their keeps continuesly.

Long story short; We (the top 3 servers Piken/River/Fsp) are just carrying the links, and I think the linking is because Anet realises WvW is close to dieing, therefore they link low servers to high servers in the hope that the players from the low pop servers will transfer. That for one keeps WvW more alive for all of us, and Anet earns moneyzz.

Let me know what you guys think.

Dear Anet, a sugestion.

Remove a tear, and give everyone at least a link (sorry BB)

Get rid of 3 of the following servers, as server hosts: Ring of Fire, Aurora Glade, Abaddoun’s Mouth or Dakkar Lake.

And reshuffle all links. With that, no more whine about gem price and everyone as a chance for fair fights.

Gandara got Whiteside Ridge but it feels we got nothing.

I honestly cannot understand why a dedicated person cannot sit down with the communities, and figure a workaround to bring life into WvW before its destroyed completely. Unlinked server against 5 linked French servers last week, same unlinked server against 4 linked German servers this week, I call that diabolical, enough said.

Our goal with World Linking is good matches. This doesn’t necessarily mean that worlds in tier 4 are intended to be competitive with worlds in tier 1, but ideally every world in tier 4 should be competitive with the other worlds in tier 4 and likewise every world in tier 1 should be competitive with the other worlds in tier 1.

Transferring servers generate a big of moolah for anet. WvW players are the only ones who need to transfer servers now. PvE players have it easy. Loot literally scattered on the floor you trip over it! Gold flooding into your wallet! Whilst with WvW we need “balance” to make sure we dont get too much gold, whilst at the same time guild upgrades drain players of their gold and resources. Not forgetting enemy players with multiple accounts wasting away the tactivators which we spent so much of our gold and resources on, so we need to spend even more to take account of such acts of sabotage!
So there’s your answer, keep the WvW players unhappy that they feel that it’s the server that is the problem and force them to continue to skip from one server to another.

You all don’t get it. ANet is treating us (WvW players) like kitten since 2 years.
They don’t care about us or the WvW. They only care about money. They won’t change anything for good. So, stop whining, play that kitten or look for another game. I will go for another game. I am sick and tired.

While i do understand the idea behind this choice i still have MANY doubs about. For example, i do not think that SFR alone vs Aurora Glade & Fissure of Woe & Ruins of Surmia vs Ring of Fire & Underworld & Gunnar’s Hold can be considered “balanced”, just check the score and let me know..
