Improve walls pls, so we can defend

I think he can still have that (e.g. in the Oasis ruin, all of the sand area on top of Fire keep and most of the south of the BL).Others, including me, want strategy on placement of scouts and siege to cover and defend / lay siege to – and that should be a good part of WvW.
It is always great to place siege, either offensively or defensively where enemies can’t reach it just because they can move (shoot there) there without effort.This leads us back to the problem with the low walls on the “common towers”. This natural defense is without function when it can be dominated by two people with AoE rings standing at the bottom of the wall (miss-)using a game mechanic.
The new towers made a lot of things better in their design compared to their Alpine counterparts (e.g. a back door, some parts that could not be destroyed etc.), but the basic wall still is a problem (+ the canons which are a zone of death to the defender and not for the attacker.
You misunderstand my part about players fighting players. I dont care where its done, it could be on flat terrain, or over structures. My point is that wvw should encourage the pvp aspect, not players having a mentality of building acs as fast as they can as soon as they see an enemy. I love fights in keeps, towers, camps, anywhere, I dont care where. What I dont like, is pounding on gates and having to deal with bunkering siege humping enemies who refuse to fight. Do you find it fun trying to fight an enemy blob, while a group of them is firing ac’s and other siege garbage at you? I dont, I think its a terrible direction for wvw to encourage this nonsense.

not if they were removed entirely or there was a cap on how much siege you can use in one tower/keep. i dont think going thru with this wall idea without cleaning house would be a step in the right direction.
there are other things that need to be fixed too but im guessing it would create more problems then it would solve or else they wouldve done it already. that is depressing to think about because it means that those fixes wont come.

I have suggested this many times, I am all for an actual working and revamped siege cap, the amount of siege that can be built in a small area is plain disgusting, literally I just cringe when I go into a keep that yb owns and see what they do inside. The replacement or removal of acs from the game, or heavily nerf them, so they arent just constantly used against players (less damage, more supply cost, smaller aoe radius, less targets etc). A more defensive option to replace ac’s to help defending would be a better solution.
So yes I do agree with your point here, its one of the main reasons ideas like the ones proposed in this thread would cause more issues because existing problems like siege abuse has not been addressed, if anything anet made things worse with hot.

Heh yea, but in all honesty it was a problem before yb came into t1. Yb just takes it to the extreme. I don’t have a problem with defending, I do it myself a lot, sometimes heavily outnumbered, sometimes completely alone lol. I’ve earned those defense titles lol. The problem is imbalance with both existing and new issues that arose with hot.

Erm…..the last thing that wvw needs at the moment is stronger defense. Defensive capabilities are already way over powered!
Defense needs a rework. Not a buff.
