Frankly, I’d like to see portals be nerfed in the EB JP because they defeat the purpose of the entire puzzle and give a ridiculous advantage to campers. I’d also like to see it become a no-combat zone because I enjoy the jumping puzzle and having to worry about starting over (with armor repair) because someone kills me ruins the fun. I fail to understand why Arenanet essentially designed portions of the puzzle to give campers a significant advantage in griefing other peoples progress. I definitely support the idea of making it an instance separate from the rest of the eternal battlegrounds map (to free up the queue).

No problem with asking for a mesmer JP port on a borderland.. just dont stand afk for 2 hours asking for it..
ask, no answer.. come back later..

If there is a mesmer, get your chest and make room for other people

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier if Anet just put a portal in permanently?
It would save everybody’s time and stop the arguments.

Those people who actually wanted to do the puzzle could just go the long way round.

Long before I rolled a Mesmer, I used to say “Don’t forget to tip your Mesmer.” There’s nothing wrong with it either.

There most certainly is if the mesmer is cluttering up /map or /team with it. If JP mesmers want to demand/beg for tips, keep it in /say.

My guild will run the JP if we see that there isn’t a que. It’s not bad when running it as a group. As for asking if there’s a mes in JP, really? It takes only like 30 sec to check yourself. I have never asked. As for tipping the mes, I’ll say thank you. If they want to demand my siege, or even gold, then they can kitten off. The mes is there by choice, it’s not a job that they get paid for.

Ignorance killed the cat, curiosity was framed.

Would you like to know why the JP bothers people, because it’s NOT about themselves. They aren’t playing by your rules. Look, the map chat is only for the things “you” want on it even.

Would you like to know what clutters map chat more? People that selfishly tout how many bags they are getting. That’s far more annoying than any communication relating to the JP. Because the one is incredibly selfish and egotistical, while the Mesmer’s are selflessly giving their time for others. Those asking for one are trying to be as quick and efficient as possible. That’s not lazy, that’s intelligent!

I’d argue that any mesmer demanding or begging for tips in ANY chat channel is selfish, not selfless.

I rarely port the puzzle…but whenever I do port, I take my lead from a true selfless JP mes on our server. He does not demand or beg for tips. He in fact refuses to accept tips and returns any tips he receives to the sender. He does not demand or beg for siege. His only request is that if anyone does not plan to use their siege (such as a PvEer who has no use for siege), to please not delete that siege and instead drop it off with him so he can pass them along to those who can use it. He does it for the good of our server and nothing more. THAT’S selfless.

And for the record, I don’t have a problem with the JP showing up in /map…but only if it’s our JP mes announcing ports. Because I know that from the position that our mesmers port from, /say does not reach those waiting at the bottom. And those JP memsers get people in and out and done quickly.

But arguing who should be the JP mes, demanding tips, and demanding that WvWers come to the JP to clear out campers have NO place in /map.

I never tip any mesmer in the JP since i tip my server by paying for upgrades and droping seige all week long. That WP you use isnt cheap.

Also i do the JP when i see someone in map say they are porting and then its a quick hop over and hope i get some rams i use alot of.

I think the issue here is that you’re letting people dictate how you play. I want my JP done, and I don’t care what you WvW heroes are doing right now.
No, it isn’t “bad” to play how you wish. I don’t care about WvW objectives, and you don’t have to either.
“Don’t do PvE in a PvP map” Get a grip, kid.
Edit: No thanks@ “No Combat Zone.” You only have like 40 jumping puzzles in which you don’t need to worry about combat. I’ll keep this one, thanks.
