“Feel sorry for Kaineng. This is probably the best matchup they can give and it’s still a disaster.”

No, we’re somewhat equal with Devona’s, add in who we used to fight, Ferg or Borlis, and we’d have a fighting chance…at least when we fought them we held more then 2 camps

i know how you feel.

i’m on borlis pass. kaieng, ferguson’s and devona’s are usually decent matches. we’d occasionally stomp one of them, but at least it wasn’t one-sided.

right now, we’re just getting wrecked by ehmry bay because of dat night-capping. we did absolutely fine during the day (we were in first, i believe), then, i went to bed and lo and behold, we were like 20k points behind and 3 orbs down.

EB: 215k
FC: 30k
BP: 29k

It’s simply population right now. Shiverpeaks has waaaaay more. (2 to 1 would be fine, 3 to 1 would be ok, I think 4 to 1 is where it gets iffy for DR) It is a higher pop server, and it is the lowest ranked of the original servers… There will be more guilds established simply because it was there from the beginning.

At some point they will have to fight another server with similar population and I fear they’ll be right back down here with the low pop ones. :/ (I’m not sure if that is funny or not!)

Luckily, we get more badges than they do and they have to wait in queues!

I think it will sort itself out though in the long run… they could also lower the caps depending on the numbers using a formula (as in, only allow a 2 to 1 etc, something along those lines)

I understand this thread however there are a couple of incorrect assumptions by the general public in assuming we do not have WvW guilds on Kaineng. We have a few smaller guilds collaborating and some very large guild in WvW. We are just plain outnumbered. period. Last night NUKE and LaZy teamed up for a match to get our server a bit more united and to work together more, and we learned a lot about defending, working together as a team, and other various things. The main thing I learned though? no matter how much siege equipment we put up and no matter how smoothly we worked as a team, it didn’t matter when we made our last stand at sheradon and held on with our teeth as that last spot was taken from us. It was heartbreaking in one respect however we united under one front and stood up against the tyranny of shear numbers. This is what makes us Kaineng. I hope arenanet or the players can fix this and help us a bit. We have the potential to be great and work together in a united front. Hopefully we get the numbers to back that up. I personally don’t like to be in a mindless zerg and defense tactics was one of the things that originally drew me to WvWvW and ultimately Gw2.
This being said PvP is not the only problem on Kaineng, PvE suffers as well. A lot of times I have to transfer to a higher pop world just to get access to dungeons because of not having enough people in cursed shores and higher level areas in order to clear the prerequisite events.
If you are interested in helping present a united front for Kaineng I ask politely that you join http://www.kainengunited.com/ so we can work together in a more efficient manner.

I was not able to be on last night. I’m glad to hear Nuke and LaZy joined forces last night though. Overall I find the people on Kaineng tend to work well together which is what allows us to be competitive during prime time against Devona’s Rest and sometimes FC, but as you say there’s a point where all the teamwork in the world can’t compensate for overwhelming odds.

As for Kaineng, a lot of our problem is population, but that’s not the only issue. I suspect there’s a bug in the code that balances WvW population in general. It seems to be affecting all the tiers.

A couple of nights ago we were in Kaineng Borderlands fighting NSP. They clearly had us outnumbered. We had about 25 people total from what I could tell. We had the outmanned buff. My wife decided to join us out there, and she got stuck in a queue!

How do you have an outmanned buff and a queue at the same time, especially with only about 25 people in a zone that’s supposed to hold about 500 (according to the WIKI)?

I read a thread this morning from the #2 server saying they were pushed back to their spawn point they were so outnumbered. The #2 server isn’t lacking population, so how are they outnumbered in WvW? There’s clearly an issue here.

BTW: I love the idea of the alliance if it’s done correctly. I caution though that we can keep it about the server, and not about the guilds or the individuals. It’s very easy to alienate guilds and individuals with a lot of boasting and that divides a community very quickly.

Lately I’ve started to hear individuals boast about their own personal greatness, or hearing guilds gloating about taking SM when there were 20 other people there representing an assortment of guilds working just as hard. It’s a real turn off for people.

Or as Tyler Durden says: "Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You’re the same decaying organic matter as everything else. "

Server first. If we can manage to breathe that mentality into our alliance on Kaineng and keep it that way as more guilds start moving to our server, we’ll be able to keep what makes Kaineng awesome intact.

Just my $0.02. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the battlefield tonight.

Were still looking for guilds to transfer to kaineng.

We promise no queue times.

We managed to crack into EB today with a little coordination and pick up a keep.

Then I went and had a picnic at the beach in NSP territory for about an hour and a half till they zerged us with 30 people. (because we beat the 15 they sent before that with 6).

Yeah, PVE in Kaineng is interesting, and quite challenging as well. I was on a high pop server before this server opened and there were zergs everywhere which made PVE somewhat easy. Running around in Orr on the Kaineng server is quite the challenge though. When I log on, every point is contested… and when I end up logging off at night, every point seems to be contested again. At times it can be frustrating, but its somewhat fun. I hate to diverge from the WvW topic… but i can’t help but add that there. The WvW repair cost has had be playing around in PVE until things normalize a bit… the constant 5v30 fights we seemed to always face haven’t been fun as of late

I have to say from being in WvW for about a week now, I do like the mentality we hold as a group when we can muster up enough people to take points for Kaineng. We may be small, but we got a lot of heart and work together rather well. As for PvE, yes it suffers greatly. I’m level 80 and it’s very hard to find more than 2-4 people in maps higher than lv50. I realize it’s also only been about 2 weeks since the game hit, so maybe a little patience is just in order for the server to (hopefully) grow more. Just one gal’s opinion.
