What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
skill lag, rubber banding, screen freezing then every plays out really fast to catch up with what happened.

What server are you on?

It happens sometimes but the majority of the time when one person is experiencing lag the rest are even though some are effected in different degrees.

Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
No. Everyone feels it. feel more lag on EB than on the other borderlands

Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
I mostly play at EU prime time. So many will be on the map with their zone blobs of 60 to 80 people. Also lag when there is new PVE stuff

If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
start at 40 up to the entire map as one blob

Lag always happened during EU prime time.
Large scale encounters were impossible due to the skill lag. Zerg vs zerg or blob vs blob never work well when lag is present.

Mainly skill lag, skill lock if it gets really bad. Skills simply stop working or take ages to cast.

Complaints are usually map-wide.

It’s definitely worse near the action, but when it gets bad the entire map lags (e.g. massive fight at Garrison, feel lag at southern side of map)

Almost consistently when there are very large numbers fighting in the same place.

-If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?

More than 60 on each side. If it’s 2 servers there will be lag but not unplayable, if all 3 servers are fighting you basically can’t use skills.

-if we are in the same place yes everyone feels the same lag, i have confirmed cause we have pc and laptop next each other and feel the same lag, its not a hardware issue.

-yes, f.e. in EternalBattlegrounds the guys in the spawn dont face the lag we encounter in the StoneMist Castle.

-yes, when we are about to face a zerg, or get close to StoneMist (but this is probably cause on the other side of this castle there is a fight between the other 2 zergs.)

- when in the fight are more 50v50 we experience skill lag and as the crowd becomes bigger the skill lag holds longer and we can reach on frame issues when there are fights with over than 175 participants

Most of the time everyone around experiences it however there were times where some players had it and some other didn’t.

The lag is worse in Eternal battlegrounds and Red Borderlands for some reason, and it most often happens on reset day/night.

Everyone experiences it when there are 3 large groups fighting of at least 50v50v50. Sometimes I experience it when there are 2 groups of 60 or more each fighting.

It’s always terrible around SMC even in smaller fights like 50v50. It’s unplayable when it’s a 3 side clash of 40+ from each server anywhere. It did this when I was on CD and same thing now on HoD. I’ll have some of my skills work but the ones I want to work won’t. Like for example sometimes my Hold the Line will go off instantly while spamming Stand Your Ground for 20 mins before and after. Totally random. It does die down as more people wipe though.

It seems a lot of people will lag and some won’t lag it all, it takes turns. It’s really dumb because a lot of the time I can’t press ANY skills while some guy training me can do whatever he wants, it’s frustrating.

I really think you should change the way conditions and stuff calculate (it has to keep recalculating every single tick which is insane when 200 people are bleeding) It should just be a static bleed number based on what your condition damage etc was at the time you hit them with it, instead of constantly changing with your stacks and might etc. Because it always starts shortly after the battle, not when we’re getting ready to engage… and by that time it’s too late to save yourself except running and spamming your skills trying to make them work.

Seeing the same thing on AR. All the same issues with rubberbanding and low fps when the zerg is around, but the skill lag is constant, even on the nearly empty bl’s.

Teleporting Doylaks – they appear invincible and then teleport a huge distance. A good sign is often the guards are nowhere near it.

Another point of lag is instant death. This may be when you rally, but are then dead in the blink of an eye – in an almost subliminal way.

Fun enough, I have not experienced a lot of skill lag.

We’ve been seeing a lot more threads popping up about skill lag & other lag related issues lately. Also, we’ve experienced it ourselves.

I would like to get some more information to see if there’s something we can do to mitigate, or fix the issue completely. Here’s what I’m looking for (please try to answer every question if possible):

  • What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
    • Skill lag, rubber-banding, etc.
  • What server are you on?
  • Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
  • Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
  • Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
    • For example, when 1 zerg is facing another zerg.
    • If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?

Please try to be as brief/concise as possible. We’re not looking for stories of when you experienced this, just some solid data.

I was on Ft. Aspenwood when it was worst, have moved since.

Friday before last is when it started.

Mostly in EB but also in other maps.

Rubberbanding – time standing still – skills not working – all of the above and then disconnects – dozens of disconnects.

Did NOT matter if I was in a zerg but obviously a zerg was worse for more frequent disconnects – up to every time we logged into WvW… disconnected.

No disconnects on ANY other map, but as I stated before, many rubberbanding and time issues – dolys jumping ahead or behind…

All of which impacts scores on all sides sorry to say.

Thanks for getting to the bottom of this!

Actually saw some skill lag tonight during a fairly large battle for Ehmry Bay’s Hills. It’s rare down in Tier 8, but it does happen occasionally.

Eredon Terrace during NA prime time.

    • For example, when 1 zerg is facing another zerg.
    • If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?

The only time I see skill lag on Tier 8 is when two 30+ groups tangle, usually for a keep or SMC, and not always. Siege weapons are usually also in play by both sides.

When zergs meet zergs. Itdoesn’t matter if it’s close to me or not, as long as I’m on the map. EB seems to be worse than borderlands.

Zone-blobs usually creates the most lag.

Skill lag but no rubber banding, i do see one or two ther people rubber band in a group.

I’m on EU Aurora Glade.

Me and several friends experience this skill lag at more or less the time, some are in a party others are not.

Can’t say if one party is the only one experiencing this.

It happens usually at peak times.

Can happen in a zerg or when roaming in a small group.

That’s about as bad as I’ve ever seen it. Only a handful of others experienced it and leaving and requeuing for the map restored it to the usual “can’t do anything but smash 1 because nothing happens, they flash for a few seconds then go on interrupted cooldown, or flash for 10-15 seconds then trigger at some random point between where I activated the skill and where I am now” style lag when ships either pass in the night or collide.

Size of groups doesn’t matter. Sometimes you can 40v40, fine, others 20v20 is unplayable. Hell, I’ve even gone 50v50v50 with no problems yet lost a 1v1 due to skills not firing.

Things started getting a lot worse around the time that 400/500gbps DDoS was tearing around the internet, so could WvW inadvertently be triggering some kind of mitigation rule?

Since the worst of the lag seems to be related to “position” in the map’s “messaging queue” (is the best I can do with 0 knowledge of how the servers operate), could there be mutex issues updating shared memory before the various bits and bytes are sent over the wire to the client? Are the NIC drivers and Layer 3 miscellany up to the task of shifting around large amounts of time-sensitive data?

How closely are the physical servers themselves being monitored? Are there RAM issues? How are the various voltage/etc sensors looking since I’d imagine the processors are being given a hefty workout? How is overall system latency? Are there any IO blocks? Is any of the networking equipment incapable of handling the amount of traffic an MMO generates? Is the layer 2 connection between the servers and various other network equipment being saturated with collisions and causing packet loss?

If none of what I suggest above is the problem, then it’s obvious: Something wonky with the actual server code itself. Easy peasy.

SoS, just felt unbelievable skill lag in EBG while attacking red keep.
I watched my health bar go from almost full to downed without a single skill going off.
Other characters were rubber banding all over the place.
Others on TS at the same time near SMC said the lag was not as bad at certain times.
WP to blue keep, lag is more manageable, but still present.
There were 50+ players on each side at least.

    - I know my internet connection isn’t the best, but I start getting skill lag when I encounter more than 30 people in a particular area, friendlies or otherwise. Most other people get skill lag when there’s more than 60 people in a fight (30v30)

*Whole map has lag, there are a ton of messages on chat and all members of my party say the same thing even though some might still be on spawn.

*I play between 7 and 10 pm GMT only in EB and there is lag about 60-70% of the time.
*Lag comes when there are big zergs fighting but it seems to not be map specific. That means that if 2 zergs fight in Bay on a Borderland, EB will have lag.
*Blobs versus Blobs, God knows how many….

One mention is that this was not an issue before. Sure 3 zergs attacking SM in the lord room in the same time would cause some lag but that’s it. Now the time i spent in EB is a lagfest rather than a lag-free.

A: It seems more common during clashing zergs, but I’ve had it hit me (and the smaller groups I sometimes run with) everywhere in WvW. Doesn’t matter which Borderlands, what keep/tower/camp, it hits. It doesn’t start off that way; first 30 minutes of roaming or zerging I’m doing fine, but I see others mentioning lag. It’s like as soon as I’ve been playing for 30 minutes, the lag and skill delay/locking kicks in.

2 months ago, I rarely ever had any problems with lag, rubberbanding or skill locking. If I did, it was minor lag and that was usually around the time my ISP was getting ready to do maintenance. After maintenance, no more lag.

Put that thing back where it came from, or so help me…

A: ISSUES 1-2 happens mostly on monday 21:00-00:00 Gmt+1 (gets better at 1:AM)and sunday late afternoon
This happens even if maps is not full.

P.S. every check was done to ensure it wasn t client side nor for hardware overload nor for connection …. (gaming)

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

5. Skill Lag usually starts to become huge issue if all 3 servers have 40+ and they collide, or our ~30 clashes with a ~80 blob.

Seems that the servers can’t handle more than 120 players fighting each other at once (40+40+40 or 40vs80)
In under 120 players clashes, skill lag usually is ~1 seconds or less, over that goes to 2-3 seconds or more (and even fails to activate, gives only flashing button animation)

WvW, Any borderland:
-When playing you are attacked by more then one person and get hit by a barrage of skills: The server simply can’t keep up and most conditions and damage applied to you gets grouped up and dealt at once.
-Ground target casting not able to cast, Simply put any skill that has an animation for casters not firing usually when there is a certain amount of people around.
-When in a not too crowded fight there is also a delay on casting and damage applied to an enemy and myself.
-Transformation animations also have a delay when in a crowded area..
-Basicly any skill that is not instant or auto attack lags.
-Any applied effect also lags.
-Rubberbanding at random moments
-Freezing in place after interacting/building/keep upgrade etc.
-Freezing in place after Stun,root and immobilize. (real game killer)
-Permanently in combat after dropping off a cliff or taking environmental damage
-Stuck in animation after a change of the map (keep/tower/camp capture) effect.
-Im combat 2 minutes after a fight even when running across the map.
-Movement speed change when a fight starts rendering on screen. (not in combat but the movement speed does change)
-Speed up /slow down of movement, catch up of skills, animations, damage,healing seconds after the fact.

This. today 11 est skills were freezing against a Devonas Rest zerg (50+). I’m assuming everyone had very bad lag since enemies and allies were rubberbanding all over the place and map chat was filled with people complaining

after the fight most of the devonas rest players vanished but we still had residual lag around any SM fights

also whispers were delayed for 5-10 mins

only started /w people after leaving wvw

(plays on anvil rock)

this last patch has made lag much more frequent at least for me

Skill lag in WvW, steps to reproduce:

  • Get each faction to a 50+ man zerg.
  • Direct the 3 zergs in a small area like the StoneMist Castle lord room.
  • Spam skills
  • ????
  • ZOMG SKILL LAG

Edit: also the reason I think there are more skill lag posts for wvw is the new wvw season started, and the zergs are bigger + more frequent. Hence “more” lag.

1 healing skill stop working, then i change to best Performance so AOE skills and so are not shown and then usually heal skills work.

3 hear often other have lag when i don’t, noticed more ofen now that I get DC from time to time, but that i think have to do with that i have setup so AOE skills drop as soon as i let go off the key. (never got DC before I changed to that)

Skill Delay that can be as little as five seconds delay up to skills just not responding at all, Rubber banding and stutter like character movement, Dolyaks appearing to be in one place but are invulnerable when attacked and then warping.

No we always feel the lag at the same time.

Some players feel the lag to varying degrees of severity, If your closer to where the large zerg fight is the lag tends to be worse.

Usually worse at peak times when the map has queues but it also happens offpeak if large amounts of players all meet and fight at the same location.

  • If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?

i would estimate 40 Versus 40 would cause severe skill delay.

  • Server- Vabbi
  • Happens at no particular time of day.
  • Seems to be worse on Eternal Battlegrounds Map (although do have problems when on others)
  • Happens even when I am fighting 1 NPC with nobody else around.
  • Map Chat delays – sending and receiving.
  • Not all party members have the same problem at the same time.
  • Above problems can happen even when there are only 3 people breaking a tower door.

-Party experiences the lag as a group. Although there are times when some players have it and some don’t: usually rubber-banding not depending on fights.
-The lag seems to be in the same borderland.
-No specific time.
*I experience the lag when there are a large amount of enemies in the map.
*Estimated Group Size: 3 groups of 40+ or 2 groups of 50+. If 3 groups of 80+ , the server dies. There is far more lag in keep fights, mainly Garrison and Stone Mist.

Skill lag and condition lag. Skills are not cast, if the lag is very bad not even autoattack works. Conditions don’t dissappear after their time runs out. Also the “Repell the enemy attackers” timer seems to be different for players. Mostly it stops at 0:00 and stays there for another minute, if there is a big fight in a keep. Also passing through the portals at a gate is lagged. However movement, dodging and chat are not lagged.

Skill lag occurrs explicitely when there are 60-80 people infight. It is often the case during threeway battles for Castle SM or the Garrison on the BL. The skill lag also scales with the number of players. The more players, the laggier. Also the area where skill lag appears seems to scale with the number of players. The more players fighting, the bigger is the area where players have skill lag

almost every day some of our raid have laggs while others dont have, different ppl every day!
most times laggs are when groups of 30+ fight vs 30+, fights in garri on a border or in stonemist lagg always(skilllaggs),fights with all 3 servers involeved ( 30+ each) are almost imposssble to play because of skilllaggs, when there is a fight in stonemist most of the time whole eb is laggy, sometimes i have warping laggs without any enemies around me, most time it disappears after 10 minutes and everything catches up after (gets faster)

Yes, on Borderlands and EB in every fight bigger than 30 vs. 30 or in every fight 40+ with 3 servers included.
EB is even worse: Nearly unplayable at EU prime.
Bigger numbers of fighting players: Not even able to press skill 1, you just stand on one position and port from time to time

After the fights: Massive speed-up (Casts, capture ticks, condition damamge, …)

Yes, on borderlands this happends when zerg vs zerg clash somewhere on the map (like 20v20), only if you near the fight you get lag. If you’re on the other side of the map, no problems.
No, on EB with three way fights 50vs50vs50 whole EB has lag, everyone and anywhere on EB.

Yes, with zerg vs. zerg clashes many times.
Three way fights, always.

No, busy spamming #1.

Additional info:
If we run with a group and we tend to lag (FPS counters drop) we stop running to look around and within seconds we spot the enemy zerg/blob. So it’s also a ‘dead give away’ on where your enemy’s are ….

Rubberbanding is probably LAN/WAN latency, not server CPU lag:

I recently played for 2 months via a high-latency/packet-loss WiFi connection, after I had played since October 2012 via cable broadband. I’ve since returned to cable broadband.

In the WiFi situation, both endpoints were high-gain access points creating a bridged network. Packet-loss was relatively high, 1-5% on average, and latency was 30-300ms on google.com pings.

That configuration caused severe rubberbanding in WvW fights. Network instability caused crucial packets to be lost, which could lock-up a WvW fight for many seconds. All characters on-screen would continue the last movement direction and animation that the client had received instructions for, walking off into the sunset (or where ever) until the packet stream resumed and had included enough data to tell the client what to do about it.

When that began, the entire scene would rubberband multiple times and would often accelerate, playing out some (but not all) of the animations I had not yet seen. My guild/party reported that in those cases, my own character would disappear and reappear as if I had either logged out (in a long lag) or used a lag-switch (in a short lag).

A Data Collection Method:

ANet can reproduce this scenario for data collection in house. Create a controlled WiFi experiment where you can isolate both the client and its access point. Have the access point router connected to the real Internet, and log the client into any real WvW server. During a battle of any size, run high throughput network activity through the access point from a separate client, to overburden the access point itself (not the game client sample). At the game client side, monitor that data.

Skill lag and rubberbanding. I play a thief many times I will enter stealth after 5-10 seconds then portal backward about 50 yards my abilities will be on CD no longer in stealth and a group is about to hit me in the face.

I can’t speak for the other servers but I everyone on the map talks about lag at the same time.

I can play during the day and get almost no lag but around NA prime (1700 or later server) and the lag starts to really get going.

The lag only gets worse when it is zerg vs zerg but it starts if the E-zerg is at SM and we are at our keep.

Estimated zerg sizes, All servers in the T2 match-up have been running heavy during NA. ZOD had 25 on tag yesterday and about 10 pugs just following along, there was a 3 way fight with Mag and DB both of which had about the same numbers. On reset Zod had 35 members while the rest of the players were on the other side of the map. Fighting DB the lag was incredibly bad just 1z vs. 1z I couldn’t imagine that they had more than 50 players in Hills most of the time.

Originally I assumed that it was due to servers running extra heavy however I have noticed that my server will have the outnumbered buff on a BL and only the BL home server is there but we still get the lag during NA prime even if I am roaming and there aren’t any fights on the map. I would assume that DB and Mag have had the same basic experience.

This is linked to the CPU binding of data throughput for the client. We have talked this out in-guild and in-server, finding that FPS in battle scales with both the strength and make/model of CPU and north-bridge parts. Intel still performs better than AMD for this game.

In any fight where FPS/skill lag is at its worst my AMD machine will hit 5-15FPS where an Intel player next to me will hit ~20FPS. A very high-end Intel player in-guild reports >30FPS in all fights.

The severity scales with number of participants to the battle. It’s that simple. This hasn’t fundamentally changed since game release.

Skill lag: often not apparent until I realize the veil I dropped hasn’t appeared (or appears behind the commander — always fun) or an iBeserker has not spawned despite my tendency to spam 4.

Rubber-banding: Usually of other toons. I’ll be happily plugging along, and other people will suddenly and quite randomly start bouncing back and forth. Interestingly, I rarely rubber-band on my own toon.

Frozen movement: I’ve recently started getting this weird situation where I’m moving but my character isn’t. She just stands there like an idiot with her sword in the air. I can turn, but not strafe or run. Dodge has no effect. Blink has no effect. I have to /sit to break the lock, which is entertaining in the middle of a zerg battle, as you might imagine. Didn’t start happening until the lag became an issue.

Yes, though it’s usually more universal. Sometimes others complain about it but I don’t notice it — I assume because we have a fatter pipe.

Yes. Usually the lag is restricted to areas with lots of other players.

Lag has always been primarily related to the number of other models on the map, particularly player models. Usually 100+ within visual will trigger it, and it scales exponentially with the number of people involved.

Someone else mentioned that it seems worse around structures. I think I would agree with that. The worst I’ve experienced has been around SMC and in the valley between Garri and NW Tower (which was nearly unplayable in a 3-way battle last night).

EDIT: Additional info, per the Intel/AMD discussion above. I’m running an i7-2600, 3.4GHz. We have Gigabit internet and hard-wired connections. My video driver is AMD Radeon HD6800. All drivers are up to date. Only programs run during gaming are Mumble and the virus scanner.

Skill Lag of 1s up to even 15 seconds… and sometimes even being locked out of using my skills. (Not even /dance or /wave fixes, I need to completely log out and back into the game.)
Rubber Banding occurs when using a blink/teleport or roll-backwards skill (Ele Fire 4)
Insta-deaths, etc…

Same Answer for both questions: No – It happens to everyone in my guild when there are zerg on zerg fights ANYWHERE on the map.

Not meant to be accusatory, but it seems to happen with a slight bit more frequently when facing Jade Quarry… or when JQ is fighting Tarnished Coast elsewhere on the map. That said, we do seem to experience a bit of lag when fighting TC as well in larger numbers.

If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
Lag starts to become noticeable (1-3 second skill casts) when there are 40+ people fighting each other… and becomes unplayable at 60+ people. (5-10 second skill casts, rubber banding, insta-deaths out of no where.)
We had a 3-way in SMC one night… 100+ players in one area, and the lag simply became comical.

PC Spec:
Intel i7-3930k
16GB RAM
(2) Samsung 840 Pro SSD’s in a RAID0
eVGA GeForce GTX670, using latest nVidia driver.

I maintain 60+ FPS even in zerg fights I haven’t seen an FPS drop at all this week. I still get the skill lag.

- Extended timer on invincibility buff on lords/camp leaders.
- Teleporting(rubber-banding)/invincible yaks.
- Epic skill lag. Skill lag occurs map wide. So you could be at the southern most part of a map and still experience lag from a zerg fighting way up north.
- Hot bar keys lock up and don’t work even after lag is gone(not sure if this is related to lag, could be just a glitch)

- The servers can barely handle 25 people. Anything over 25+ you start getting skill delay, and it quickly becomes increasingly worse. Three way fights almost always result in skill lag. So basically, the epic fights are the ones that have lag, unfortunately.

It’s worse in EB for certain. For some reason entering that map, even at spawn i can’t use skills.

It seems to focus on primetime. And only when non stop ‘orange swords’ pop up. It seems the battles are so heavy that the server is, I dunno ‘slower’ because he’s processing older battles while the new ones go off. Sometimes there’s 10 min no orange swords, but the lag remains, as thought, the server is still pushed to hard by something. It sometimes happens in borders, but more rarely. To be honest, last few days have been much better. Then again our queues (and enemies) queue’s are shorter, wich might explain it.

It seems to happen more against stacked servers (especially was bad against Riverside), but also happens with Augury Rock now (stacked server in primetime). Against deso it’s been easier overall.

And something else, A hunch you say, it feels to me the ‘non language servers’ fighting each other, results in less lag then when mixing each other (FR, DE, SP etc). Maybe because Germany to belgium (internet traffic) is further then NL to belgium to Netherland, there is overhead? This is a pure hunch as i know nothing of it. But fighting language servers always felt more laggy. For instance, Vizunah square, lagged us WAY more then Seafarer’s did, although both are very stacked.

Also I spam my skills but nothing seems to happen. But enemies seemingly non stop hit me. After much thinking, either the other server lags and we don’t (major balance problem) or more likely, the server still queues skills, but delays them 20 secs, wich makes if you stand stil (stay stonemist inner), and spam skills, they will still go tru, but later, and without visuals to support it (i never got any damage numbers, but sometimes some lootbags, could be because retalation though).

TL:DR More lag in EB. More lag in primetime. Even more lag against language servers. I suspect it’s ‘skills delay kind of lag’.

I’m from piken, I rubberband sometimes, but mostly skills don’t go off. People in party sometimes lag less more then me. Estimation number people (all colours) 120-180, when the lag occurs. Sometimes less (60-100), but that is most of time after lag already initiated before it. I agree with above poster, it seems worse on patch days. And on resets also.

Edit: (additional info, might be usefull).

PC info: 3570K, 16gb ram, amd 6950 (gigabyte oc version), SSD (crucual 128gb). Very fast internet connection (60mbps), cable.

Historical info: Borderlands almost never lag, EB sometimes lag (but much less then other ppl i knew). Only time i truly lagged massively was against vizunah square. (1 min + delays). Then the lag felt differently. You press a skill and still feels like it goes off, but the server, delays it, and it happens later in the battle. Current lag feels more chaotic. Like the server truly lost track of skills, and order of them.

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

- Hardly ever. It’s usually the opposite. I am often one of the last to suffer, but in recent days it has deteriorated significantly. When I have issues, many do as well and I can see a lot of complaining on map chat. Maybe because of Vizunah’s Square in the matchup?
- Yes, there are almost always orange swords on the map. Especially if they happen in Stomenist Castle.
- >50 usually, very often 3-way battles

I can add that it does not matter if I take part in a battle or not. I have had situations like I was scouting Quentin Lake, roaming far away from it or running a dolyak and started having terrible lags when all three servers entered the lord room in SM.

- Core i7 3630QM
- Windows 8
- 16GB of RAM
- Radeon 7970M

I usually have 40-60+ fps in Wvw and even during huge battles it drops only to around 15-20fps, which is much better than many people have.

I have checked my connection many times in such cases by running something like “ping 8.8.8.8 -n 250”. Always same result: ~30ms latency, 0 packets lost.

    • Skill lag, and also the animations playing at the time that it begins will continue to repeat themselves. When the lag ends all the events that took place while skills were unresponsive get played back at a highly accelerated rate. I don’t rubber-band on my own screen, nor do I on my party/friends’ screen. I.e. they would tell me not to move so I didnt move myself out of the ring.

We encounter skill lag frequently on Dragonbrand. I would say any time the total number of players in the battle exceeds 80 or so.

The skill lag is shared across nearly everyone in our guild, altho some seem more sensitive to getting it than others. It lasts for a few moments after the battle is done.
