Medals don’t mean anything anymore due to the volatility of the matches these days. Stomping a lower coverage server 6 times will give you 6 medals, but that doesn’t mean you are a top server in the slightest.

Medals don’t mean anything anymore due to the volatility of the matches these days. Stomping a lower coverage server 6 times will give you 6 medals, but that doesn’t mean you are a top server in the slightest.

I had the option with going with the original mos standard of giving medals to tier 1 only, i decided to make a list based on each tier, from tier 1 to 9.

DH has come in first in the last 13 weeks in a row. CLEARLY WE ARE WINNERS and far superior to SoR or CD, those nubs.

I couldt use the last 13 weeks. They were started with the input of randomisation from anet.

But if you have consistently won gold in all your fights, those are surely some bragging rights

random match up only started 3/4 weeks ago, so only those weeks count i believe….

We are on our third week now following randomisation. so i took only the last 2 weeks score. Please let me know if im wrong and i will make changes.

It will average out over time though. I don’t think many really care but it is an interesting stat to keep track of.

If we arbitrarily assume that

1st gets 3 points,
2nd gets 1 point and
Last gets 0 points,

we base the formula that

11 Matchups so far since RNG was introduced (no.12 is current)

So

[(2*3) + (4*1) + (5*0)] / (11*3) = 10/33

Which = ~ 30.3% of total potential points.

Not too shabby i say.

[(8*3) + (2*3) + (0)] /33 = 90.9% of total potential points

Disclaimer : My maths is flawed and my assumptions bad. Let us not forget rng can play significant roles in determining final scores.

Lets say we play 10 games. The first is given (alike to a game of football) 3 points. If there is a draw (In our case, coming in 2nd) gives you 1 point. And losing (AKA coming in last) gets you 0.

So lets say you

won 5 matches , came in second in another 4 and lost only 1 game

then you take that sum.

so here [gold(3) x 5] + [silver(1)x4] + [Bronze (o) x 1] = 19

Now , the maximum points you could have gotten would have been to have
won every single matchup which = gold(3) x 10 = 30

So the potential points you have made is that 19 divide by the max allowable which is 30 to get is 63.333%

Take note that the average score , as of week 14 is- 44.435

This formula will change when the league kicks in( I believe 5 ,3 and 1 for last?). But i wont be resetting the tier-free score tally unless something drastic is done to glicko. But still too early to tell.

I see some use in having a league now. It will mean the top 6 giant servers in NA will be paired (the 3 Mega servers from each side + 4 Med. Population servers + 4 low pop servers) . But again , there is no specific details yet. I know the week of 15 *rng was tweaked alittle more to be more diverse. ALot of transfers are also now ongoing due to the fear of transfer lock-out.

I don’t know if WvW servers in general are degrading or if everyone is migrating upward in ranks. The lowest 9 servers have gotten smaller in terms of WvW population in general. I believe ET has grown. It does make the T8/T7 matchups more fun for me since roaming is way more prevalent.

Yes there is alot of migration upwards, but we really dont have much info on the league as of yet. You never know that anet may pull a fast one and select 12 random teams vs 12 random teams (which would ideal). 1 more week to go
