Make WvW user friendly, team speak problem
5 gold says that the OP plays a bear/bow ranger……
And if he was, even if on teamspeak and following orders, I’m sure he’d be put in a trash party and not revived if downed.
If you read earlier in the thread, you’ll see that I agree teamspeak is necessary. But so is acting as a team. Which is something I’ll bet 5 gold you don’t know how to do.

Wait, are people really not ressing others? Even when watching a duel, ressing should be done at the end.
Unless I know that person sucks and will die anyways, it seems like a kitten move.

Rofl ouch!! I’m not sure where the hostility is coming from! My statement was not a personal attack on anyone, and was meant as a joke (bear/bow ranger generally doesn’t do much to contribute to zerg fights lols). I am sorry though that people are treated that way where you are from. SBI is a pug friendly server, or has been… we have a lot of new xfers. But it’s pretty common practice to revive anyone who’s down, regardless of class or even if they are in squad. I honestly don’t have the time to check who it is that I’m reviving in order to discriminate lol.
As for being a team player… well… I’m an aurashare healbot ele. It’s kinda all I do. I am constantly monitoring the health of the players around me. Team play is actually one of my favorite parts of the game!
Many commanders, self included, have a specific composition in mind that has optimal spreading of boons and other buffs on a per-subsquad basis. Many of these skills/boons/buffs are coordinated, and called for on a specific basis. For example, Guardian 1 is there to provide the first stabilty and purge, while guardian 2 provides the 2nd stab and 2nd purge. That stability prioritizes those in the subsquad. Those that are trying to be a full part of the team, coordinating to their fullest on the common method of voice communications. There are many other buffs from various classes, such as auras, spotter, etc, which many of prioritize subsquad first.
I cannot see how you can be upset that the commander wants his organized team to take precedence for the buffs they coordinated together. Or that he places together based upon voice callouts on TS. You don’t want to be part of the team, whether you cant be due to whatever reason or you refuse to be, then do not expect to be held at equal level as everyone else in the squad.
I run in WvW without TS all the time. I have no expectations of being placed in an organized subsquad, but I am pleased when I am. But, I am not upset when I am not because I am not running the way they are. I am just joining them in-game and I get what I get.

On the subject of the trash party, I sometimes get appointed lieutenant for this kind of thing, and have gotten whined to by people who don’t understand that boons typically have a short range about on the matter, but in the end you just can’t accommodate everyone. And no, i’ve never kicked anyone for any reason other than the squad almost being full and they’re either offline, or following another tag (????)
If you join the squad on a thief or ranger, and I’m moving icons, I’ll put you in the “misc” party unless we know what you do. If I’m the thief or ranger, I also place myself similarly, and bring my own stab on druid— I don’t expect special treatment. It’s just the way the game is, not because I hate you or anything; frontline classes just need the extra priority. I really don’t have the time to worry about bruised egos. Although to be fair I try to keep venom share in mind.
Exceptions abound. If I see at DH plinking away with a bow and using medis, I would definitely put a known healing druid above them in priority.
A lot of guild groups blobbing tend to have the better sense to put all the pugs in a single group, and I don’t see that as a bad thing because the ability to ctrl-T a target is more beneficial than boon share in most cases.
There was this one occasional I set all the druids to a single group and assassinating targets is pretty hilarious. It’s kinda scary how many people no longer know what a reflect is.
I’ve generally told people that micromanaging unknowns is a bad idea, and more trouble than its worth, but hey, whatever works.

The thing about the ones who are racist, sexist or generally rude is they often don’t think they are when really they’re alienating a lot of players. The people that don’t want to join TS because of the general rudeness, sexist remarks, racism whether mild or extreme aren’t doing so because this one time someone said something mean. They don’t join because more often than not they hear these remarks over and over again and decided their life is better off not hearing people. You don’t need TS to stick to the commander, push, regroup, blast, change direction etc, if you’ve ever done anything slightly organised you can read the situations and know where to be.
This isn’t about talking either, it’s about having to hear this rubbish while being on TS whether you talk or not.
I don’t generally join TS because having fought the server we are linked with I came to the conclusion they’re a bunch of immature players who happily gank others, spam emotes and bleed them out for no reason than to be salty. I don’t care if the commander has a voice like the smooth crooning of Frank Sinatra, I won’t join because I think they’re a bunch of kittenbags.
If those remarks are not intentionally inflammatory, maybe it’s time to grow a thicker skin. You know, despite what some splinters of society and certain blogs are trying to make you believe, you do not have a duty to take offense.
The thicker skin argument is a strawman.
It’s an excuse for crappy behaviour. Period.
Why not try not being adults?
OK, here’s how to be adult:
So people don’t want to be in TS because they don’t like what is said. Exactly. Players in guilds that get on TS do so for more reasons than just fight coordination. They also socialize with each other. Not every Tom, kitten, and Harry is going to get along. If you’re not going to fit in socially with a guild on TS, we don’t want you on TS with us either nor reading our squad chat. It makes for bad social situations. Have you considered that some “adult” guilds are 18+ or have requirements such as “mature player”? Is someone going to complain that adults are in the wrong because the game is 13+ so it is unfair that we don’t allow players under 18 to join when the chat is inappropriate? Adults know they have choices with who they socialize and play with and don’t need to be making demands to be included in something that isn’t going to mesh in the first place.
Bull-kitten.
Keep the guild chat within the guild window. You have every right to subject guildmates to whatever you all deem acceptable. Don’t like it? Leave the guild.
WvW on the other hand requires multiple guilds/personalities/whathaveyou to operate effectively together. Start alienating any one set of folks and the map falls apart.
Being an adult sometimes means compromising.

What’s with the constant use of bull-kitten as a response? It appears to be outside of your consideration that guilds sometimes have friends that join raids who are not in guild. Actually, that’s pretty normal. Some intellectual humility is in order. The maps don’t “fall apart” just because of 18+ restrictions. That’s like saying the economy will fall apart because adults didn’t compromise and let minors go to bars. LOL. People CHOOSE not to get on TS and the maps haven’t fallen apart yet.

Just going to end the thread here. Everyone has the right to play however they want. You absolutely cannot come in here and say I have the right to do whatever I want and other people have to play with me. The commander, has every right to not want to include people for not joining team speak, or playing the builds they want because its his/her raid. If you don’t like that go make your own raid or go do your own thing which is what you are doing anyways by not being a team player. You can’t have it both ways.
I hate all of the pugs like this.
