Map looks sloppily done
Yeah, it’s kind of amazing how terrible it looks.

IMO The one thing you can’t say about the map is that it is sloppily done. It’s very pretty and far far more complex than necessary.
No wonder it takes so long to make a map! We want sloppy, we want simple, we haven’t got it.

Yea, it’s horrible. How can they release something like this? Do they got no standard?
Notice that EotM is integrated into the map, but for the new BLs, it doesn’t look like they even tried.
I noticed this too, and chuckled, but didn’t feel badly about it. It is true, however, that part of the art dept. time for this change should have changed “the mists” to reflect this new map. The story dept. should have been involved to justify the change, because WvW is compromised by binding to Tyria and lore. Do that right, or stop doing it.

cmon guys when u map out that just a visual effect that will fixed, also does not impacts the game.
for sure they have that in the to do list.
Yeah, I’m not sweating this one. It’s just a matter of thoroughness, and it doesn’t need to be on a to do list. The map is a flat raster image. It can be done by an artist in photoshop, if nothing else.

I mean that it should have been done before it needed to hit a to do list that isn’t yet done, because it is trivially easy to complete.
However, again, I notice it without really worrying about it. I take it as indicative, and nothing more.

Actually I’d really expect something THAT simple to be done before release. It definitely seems like another 3-4 months would have been better for them to complete hot.
Where is the old “when it’s done” philosophy?
All we wanted was a GvG.
God forbid that map of the “mists” that shouldn’t even be connected to the real map of Tyria because it’s actually in a separate realm of it’s own does not blend in with the splash/artwork surrounding it.
I’m sure they will fix it eventually.
Sloppy is not a term I would use. It’s actually the opposite. They put soooo much detail into it when all a lot of people want is a big empty field with some objectives in it.
These new maps have all these different levels etc that in theory would lead to good fights but in reality will be completely ignored and actively hinder movement.
