No but you can limit the amount of damage a mindless spam F1 train of players can do to smaller, skillful, yet organized group of players. 80 players just spamming skills should not be soo overpowered that servers stacks themselves beyond full just to win or get free bags against a well coordinated group of say like 15 or so maybe even less.

The zergling playstayle is simply just too overpowering and rewarding for the smallest amount of risks. It’s soo bad that no matter what changes are done to WvW outside of nerfing zergplay. WvW will ALWAYS face that huge population imbalance. Because many people are just too lazy to learn how to play the game and win without having a overwhelming numerical advantage.

Make zerg play much less lucrative and then you can start to herd people towards making balanced match ups. ANet can’t force people to not bandwagon for free bags and easy wins. But ANet make people not want to do as much or as badly.

Zerglings should have to be force to split rewards, after a certain point. If they outnumber there enemys 3 to 1 or more, in one 80 plus man zerg ball. That just don’t make any sense what so ever. Make players choose between more rewards or just mindlessly zerging for easy captures. Don’t do anything towards PPT or PPK however, I agree zerglings shouldn’t punish via PPT or PPK, but making them choose to just skill lessly train down their enemies for the easy win, or more rewards by splitting up and taking many objectives with groups of friends. Instead of one objective with just flat out strangers/bodies that don’t really care about each other, just getting bags and reward track progression.

That’s not teamplay that mob mentality to it’s fullest.

I maybe a troll with class.
But at least I admit it!

aoe cap is what gives the big zergs the edge. if a 20 man guild group drops a nice coordinated bomb and hits the whole 80 man zerg it should hit 80 dudes. these zombies reduce damage with numbers which is why people blob it up and why guilds quit the game.

Giving some the cane while you give others a bigger stick will never work. The most effective way to encourage a change like this is to make the apple dynamic.

Suggestion:
- Implement a reward track participation cap status that changes depending on how many people you are running with.

eg.
<5 pax : 100%
<15 pax : 75%
<20 pax : 50%
<30 pax : 25%
>= 30 pax : 0%

Cap an objective then stick around with x number of players for more than 5 minutes and your participation cap will change accordingly and your current participation will reset. If balanced right this would encourage people to split up when there aren’t other blobs to fight.

The aim would be to make the apple of ZvZ similar in size to that of roaming and scouting whilst reducing the size of the apple for ZvE due to the safety of it. It would also discourage the “mindless zerg” as the majority of the reward during zerg play would come from killing other players and a “mindless zerg” is generally a juicier one to those more organised.

I can get on board with this idea. Sounds pretty decent. Doesn’t pervent players from omni map queue blobing but it’s a start.

Mindless zergs should be easy to take out. Especially with boonshare nerf now. Not that I really zerg that much myself, but this IS large scale WvW combat…Every single server zergs, and this idea wouldn’t change the mentality of every server. Plus, who plays WvW for rewards? Ugh.
