Is there anyway to gauge if the server you start on is going to be overpopulated? I don’t want to accidentally join a server and then see that everything is being zerged way too easily. I prefer the underdog. Or do they frequently change which servers are enemies?

Tier 6 currently seems to have well balanced WvW with essentially no queues, and opportunity for single, small group, and zerg level play. At least from my experience playing on BP and watching the weekly match scores.

Take a look at MOS Millenium WvW rankings. It can give you some guage, although timezone comes into play.

Go here to look at server stats and for the most part things change pretty slowly as far as match ups go now that free transfers are gone

You can check here http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA to get an idea of where the scores are standing in the current match up. If you scroll down you’ll see a prediction of who will be together for the next match up.

As far as population goes, higher the tier, the more populated they become.

what does evolution and income mean. is there a key for this graph?

Evolution is the change in the servers rating, income is the current amount of Points Per Tick (PPT) the server was getting at the time the score was submitted.

Each sever has a rating, depending on their score at the end of the week against the other 2 servers in their tier, the server’s rating will either go up or down. If a server’s rating drops or increases above that of another server, they change spots. Simply put, it’s just a ladder, and every group of 3 servers fight each other for the week. Rankings however tend to be pretty stable, and it’s not uncommon to have the same matchup for a month or longer.

As for zerg sizes, t1 has constant 50v50 zergs 24/7, t2 + TC have 50 man zergs during their respective primetimes, Dragonbrand, Maguuma and Yak’s all have ~30 man zergs normally

So if you don’t want to zerg, I suggest you stay away from the upper tiers.

t6 is the most balanced right now…….

T6 is where its at, you couldn’t go wrong with anyone of the 3 servers, all seem to have their off times but it works out in the wash. Good rivalry, good people, fun times.

I’d say to join ET/FC and try yourself against the odds of the Overwhelming SF (Which have more population than the other two). And it’s only 25g since both aren’t “Very High” population.

If you are looking for the most balanced, then all those people suggesting T6 are on the right track.

If you are looking for fairly balanced, but still want to fight as the underdog, then I suggest HoD or GoM on T7. Both HoD and GoM put up a great fight all week, although neither is the top of the tier. GoM does lots of defense and ninja stuff. HoD does lots of super golem rushes (often quite effective). Both servers have thriving and growing WvW communities.
