PPT Cap/Night Capping solution
When China gets their servers, maybe some of the Oceanics will transfer there? Then we’ll have EU, NA, and Asia. Balance achieved!
Perhaps some Asians, but it will still leave english speaking Oceanic players on NA servers.
Which in turn will only lead to making those few players even more valuable and sought after by servers, destroying any hope of balance between time zones on different servers.

Modifying the scoring system is the wrong answer, will create a bias that isn’t meant to be in the game.
Here are two solutions:
1. Get people to fill your coverage gaps. It works – look at Blackgate or SoR in NA T1.
2. Quit sleeping. Sleep is for the weak anyway.
Both solutions are ones that anyone can implement, no ANet involvement required.
Neither of your solutions is practical — the problem is ANet’s to fix. Whether they will do so is another matter, but having matchups decided by Sat/Sun and no servers moving up or down is not good for the longterm health of the WvW game.
I disagree. Both of my solutions are the ultimate in practicality – if you have a problem, fix it yourself. Begging for random solutions to problems (I don’t like it that other people play when I don’t! Boohoo!) that will result in screwing other players over just doesn’t seem like the way to go.
From a personal standpoint, I also disagree with your statement on stability. I like the fact that my tier has a long standing rivalry with at least one of the servers in our tier. Although it tends to make the forums ugly (who really cares about forum posts tho? lol), folks sure are competitive on both sides. Makes for better fights, imo. Also, now, when a server moves up or down a tier, it has the feeling of something epic and a large sense of accomplishment (or loss, if it’s moving down). Just had a new join in our tier (NA T2) two weeks ago, and they are incredibly proud of it (and rightly so). It’s a big deal.

I just can’t help myself here, but… A big deal? They got bandwagon transfers and moved up, it’s not something we haven’t seen a dozen times before.

The jealousy is strong.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Anets solution is to recruit more guilds for your off peak hours.
Better start recruiting.

If I wanted to play in a tier with skill lag and queues I would. I am not jealous in the slightest, I am merely stating facts.

Better a bit less “successful”, than having server-hoppers on board
This is the official response by ArenaNet to this issue:
Matt Witter“Our answer is that WvW was developed as a never ending continuous battle. We feel that everyone should have the ability to contribute no matter what time of the day it is. How we’ve came to this conclusion is that no player’s time is more valuable than another. Everyone has different off peak hours for whatever reason. Players should not be punished or unable to experience and view the same content as everyone else because they play at a different time. They too are paying customers. This is not saying that we are against any adjustment to scoring, or against developing another mechanic to improve the capping system. This is simply saying that we will not be changing WvW based on some players’ idea of off time hours.”

Night capping isn’t a problem and it doesn’t need a solution.
I say this as a player on Anvil Rock where our keeps routinely get night capped by the other servers in our tier because we lack sufficient manpower/timezone coverage.

Aion had a much better and thrilling siege system :p
No. This is an international game. It’s your server’s fault; not Arena net’s.

Doesn’t matter what’s right or wrong this is the answer.
Any limitations to what can be earned during a period of time (North American, Asian or European) would affect the gameplay of people playing in that period of time and thus change the experience which ANet are strongly against.
Developers have said in the past quite clearly they will never make a change to the way the scoring works as WvW is meant to be a 24/7 event.
Sorry to burst any bubbles you had.
Of course they should just leave it how it is if they want people to stop playing the game because there’s no competition on most of the tiers. Every tier winner is pretty much decided by Saturday/Sunday, and the winners/losers are not moving up or down tiers.
Sounds like an incredible system that they definitely shouldn’t think of changing.
Let me put it another way; Noone forced EU players to play on NA servers. They chose to play NA servers knowing NA would be the prime-time fighting period and EU/ Asia wouldn’t be.
Note: I’m a UK player playing on a NA server and i have been for months, Night capping happens but i don’t want special treatment or limitations because of it.

I don’t see any conflict between a score weight (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/PPT-Cap-Night-Capping-solution/2020713) and ANet’s official response. This denies nothing to anyone. It does not underrate anyone (opposing to the current system), it only reduces the (currently absolutely overrated) influence of the time in which nearly no one is playing to the overall score.
It not even hinders you to cap everything and present the opponent the map in your color when he comes back to the battlefield.
Doesn’t matter what’s right or wrong this is the answer.
Their answer doesn’t matter. I and many others would like WvW more if the sieges were more constrained to prime time.
Get more players to cover your time zone, otherwise no thanks.
My timezone(NA) has plenty of player;s it’s the non-NA players where the problem is.. all the oceanics can still PvD to their hearts content- they just wont get thousands of points ahead by doing it.
If we had 2 Oceanic servers and an NA, there would be a lot of complaints about the NA getting penalized for nightcapping.
