I’ve not been around for much of this match but what I have taken part in has been some of the most fun i’ve had in a while. Thank you to both Fort Ranik and Riverside for being such great opponents. Hope we’ll meet each other again soon.

Kodash and Koa are pretty good but so is Riverside and RSC… Tbh i dont think we have expected to get as high as we likely to be and that alone is a achievement.

We will see how it goes and learn from it, we might surprise people, we might not have the same coverage, we could even get relegated two tiers… i dont mind either way, next week will be more relaxed from my perspective, we know we are the underdog and will try enjoy our battles (unless they make culling even worse ha) with Xmas coming things will start to be effected too.

Piken is still trying to find its natural postion… which to me could be t3-t5 due to numbers… the top four BT,VIZ,AS, SR have better numbers and coverage… then theres elona’s alot of numbers, barach alot of off peak, Desolation still pretty big in comparison, kodash bigger than us and more organised (collectively) So that pretty much means tier 2 is not what we are aiming for.

then you have millers, not sure their current situation they seem to have stalled their massive momentum, Riverside and piken are similar as the last two weeks showed. Then there is two servers below to keep a eye out for and that is gandara and auroa glade, two servers we havent fought yet but have recruited and reorganised. I would also include augury rock as they pushed us too but they seem to be declining slightly atm.

So thats a whole bunch of servers in and around where piken are and should be…. Piken is probally the hardest server to predict because of a few factors. Like i said we dont even know where we belong

I thought this week would go to the wire, Riverside you pushed us very hard… I don’t enjoy your defensive style as much as other servers, but i can respect it. I’d personally prefer more roaming battles, equal number or double… not just wait in towers and come out in big zerg but every server as their own style and must respect that even if its a tad tedious at times. You closed the gap to 6k at one point, you had the momentum and then piken countered in a big way and took all the momentum, some defining moments that night. If you focussed FR more maybe would of scored more who knows

FR have had a pretty free ride, most their points come from zero pressure at times, then fully upgraded and retaking them… they are very good vultures at times… although if they wanted second they should of put more pressure on you, In EB for example they always seemed to target piken, and when their bl was full they would target piken more than RS… that logic i dont get

Our defensive playstyle is a result of the hard weeks we’ve put behind us. We faced Vizunah, Blacktide, Arborstone and other nightcapping servers for quite some time. In these weeks we logged in everyday and had next to nothing on maps, while the big servers had everything fully upgraded. Therefore we developed a more progressive approach as we tried to protect the few towers/keeps we had.

We’re in even brackets against servers with similiar numbers now, so its time for us to get more active and put pressure on the enemies, instead of trying to absorb the pressure. It always puts us on the backfoot and in positions where we react to enemy actions, that will set us behind most of the time.

Anyway, it has been a fun week, props to both sides. Good luck to PS in the higher tier, you will stand your ground for sure. And it will make you even stronger, which frightens me a little bit

Hopefully we’ll meet again sometimes, although I’m taking a break until February. So maybe then. ^^ All the best, have a nice christmas and a happy new year.

I must say parts of me were hoping we would not go up. We’ve had great fights with RS the last two weeks. In addition at times when things have gone badly, the /map chat have been overly negative. That is something new to my experience in Piken.

It is clear we face tougher opponents in the coming week(s), I hope we will still stay together as the great community this server is.

Finally a big heads up to Riverside for the two last weeks, it’s been great fun. Fort Ranik has proved themselves as a wily foe, that will surely challenge again in this tier.

Great evening action on pikes borderland this evening. Marvellous fights against BOON and PX, on the field and in the keeps.

One question though – how did you get back bay so quickly at about 10:00 pm? Would’ve been sad if you did it with portal abuse. That would give this great evening a bad taste. Doesnt matter anyway. Was great fun for us, DTK and FX.

Thank you for the sometimes really narrow battles – in my personal point of view we did a quite good job against the piken guild-squads.

BOON ported to Citidel to come defend Woodhaven as we ran to Woodhaven our scout spotted you golems hitting Outer door.

We quickly wiped the 5 or so I assume flagging at woodhaven as a distraction and ran into Bay but you melted the door so fast and we figured we would be well out numbered so I called for us to stop and go up and hide on the green cliff bit in the NE corner of Inner bay as we did u capped so would never have got inside inner in time anyways – basically you didn’t scout us or the scout missed us as ~25 of us "turtled on my icon with our fingers crossed. So yeah didn’t even use a portal although I think we did portal 4 guys close by.

As we hit your inner door you guys hit Garrison water gate,, we stuck to Bay and yelled for everyone to hold Garriosn. Then you got even more bad luck as we capped the Garrison waypoint was 15 secs of cooldown and we all ported into Boss room and hit you all from the side to add insult to injury :/ sorry, we almost felt bad!

And yeah the carnage at Hills was epic lol

Yeah, great move then. Thanks for the explanation. We’ve been a little bit too slow with the portal chain for the golems – needed just 30 secs more for garrison. ^^

Dont feel bad, luck often comes to the guys deserving it. Well done at bay and then a nice coincidence with the timer – result: win. ^^

Hills was really epic. ^^ At one point we thought everything was over, but then a bunch of our guys came back from spawn and made it through, so that we finally were able to push you out with some portal action. Lucky us that your raid was splitted, so that we were able to sweep the guys in front of the southern gate and afterwards could take the rest in front of the lordroom.

Was really, really fun. Unfortunately you seem to leave our bracket upwards. Kodash is a well organized server with a decent population and Deso is a former T1 server. Really, I donnt wanna change place with you, though I like the Kodashi. Good sportsmanship and fair play over there.

Seems that we will have to deal with Millers and the newcomers from Gandara. We’ll see how they will do. With Miller we’ve had some hard matches, they are always highly motivated when it comes to a fight between the two of us. Will be interesting again.

Yeah we were forced to split your guys coming in the main gate built siege on the bridge that was hammering us so I rushed BOON over to clear it which we did but cost us half the raid with the seige in boss room shooting into our backs at same time by time we got back in it was all going downhill, still great fights inside there.

Next week will be fun, we met Kodash last week and had lots of good fight there, but yeah PS core see prime time fun > server ranking so we kinda short on numbers outwidth that times so expecting to "take a beating " in WvW scores but have fun during prime time as always, but yeah T3-6 is good enough for us nice fights with no drama, stress or ques :P

I am just pleased to see Fort Ranik get the beating they soundly deserve. Opportunist backstabbing and double teaming do nothing for a server’s reputation and Riverside, thankfully, has invested time in beating them soundly at last.

Riverside, Kodash – servers that Piken has respect for.

Fort Ranik can join the “naughty list” – no wintersday presents for them.

Hey DTK, greetings from GG who you might have seen during your times in Eternal! Who’s your commander that I think plays a Mesmer? Norn female I think. Big props to whoever that is because they’re a real pain in the kitten to fight against, good tactics and I wish our friendlies listened to me as well as they do to you guys Its been a fun week, you really made us pay for not mounting a serious assault on Stonemist. Curious as to how next week is going to go. It could be either Desolation we face or Elona Reach, and if it is Elona, then we’ve almost fought every german server in the ladder! Just Millers, but we’ll get them eventually

Ahh yes, I forgot about that. Kinda been a bit stupid there because I was just checking to see how many servers us Piken have faced, turns out to be 14, I think. And I counted Millers in that tally as well -.- ahh well, its 1AM after a hard days WvW

Didn’t play that much tonight, as it was pve/x night, and had helped build up such a big lead, TUP was only in the field in very small scale numbers… i kept getting asked to join, eventually was just two of my guildies getting jumped by a bigger guild party of 5 or so FR players in piken… by time i got finished naffing about in pve land… couldnt find them in piken so went FR looking for them, took some camps had some small scale with them…then saw the germans was attacking bay with big flags going off, so perfect time to take back lake with just one ram.

As match up is pretty much won, it was all about the fun left to be had… so 3 of us decided to go and inspect this german assault on bay… we got in the south saw 3 cata’s being built… pulled in and skirmished, killed or made german overextenders run away. My two guildies died, i went on outer wall, shooting down at cata’s… germans took exception to this sent alot to deal with me, i jumped over to the rock in the east, shot the cata’s some more from there, again they took exception and sent a party of 6+ to hunt me down…

With all the distraction, it gave french time to home their siege on the cata’s location.
With no where left to go, i jumped in the water and swam around this time being chased by french defenders haha… my guild mates by this time had respawned and run back to join me… we regrouped at the pier in bay… this is where we noticed similar tags to who we had been fighting earlier, was same guild group and others defending for FR.

We decided to get our roleplay on and started emoting to the french… we then decided to peacefully go on a fishing trip in bay… two asura sat down in fishing boat with a human. The French saw this, and one friendly french resident came out to inspect our fishing passes, then other french locals joined in our fishing trip. Im not sure how we managed to fit them all in our small boat, especially with the huge norn sat at the back. Everything was going well, then one riverside poacher came along and started shooting at us from above.

Our fishing party was not happy about this meanie, the total disregard for our lives and the boat. So we became a bunch of vigilantees seeking justice for fish everywhere, together my 3 man party and the french locals went looking for vengance. We stumbled upon the poacher near the top of some steps, and he wasn’t alone. He had brought some bandits with him that were destroying everything in sight. The local children and women weren’t safe… more importantly the fish were frightened. Something had to be done about this.

So together our fishing party from piken square and locals from fort ranik beat back the bandits from riverside and kicked them out of the french fishing area, we thought for good, but they kept throwing stones at the french homes. So we had to march together as one to put a end to that. The French locals seem pleased with our efforts, the mean bandits didnt seem too happy. There was plenty of cheering and saluteing from the locals for our brave act of kindness. The Fish was Save atlast Long live the fish

lol @ Wamgor. I feel with you – and the fish. I guess my riverside-comrades were just a little bit confused, seeing fishermen with frogs in one boat and so they decided to take a closer look on this strange scenery.

The female norn commander is DTK Spring Teufel (the jumping devil). I by myself play a pigtailed sylvari thief commander, DTK Silva Del Rey. The two of us are jobsharing lead in eternals with the TIA guild, Lady Twixi (asura ele) and Steinid (charr warri). All we know we learned from DTK Edana Atreides, Primarch of DTK. Thats the guy who led us yesterday evening in PS BL. Always an honour to follow Edana.

I remember those epic battles as well, it was back in the days i didnt have a badge yet, and coordinated the EB anyway.

the reason it was 2 am, is cause the 20 golems we had ready earlier, got wiped on the server crash, so it was delayed quite a bit.

However, there are 30-40 more ppl on at that time than normally, just because they wanted to stay around. Something that makes me proud to be a piken.
