Devs don’t need to respond they need a community lead who’s job it is to talk to the players and engage them. They will focus on the positives, when it got silent the forums turned awful. Arenajunkies is less toxic…

China gw2 is taking up a lot of time, that’s not bad. But think of all the new tickets and bugs they have in that client build. We are beta testers for the biggest economy in the world. I bet google translate is Anets best friend right now.

City State games have already communicated more about their plans with RvR in CU than Anet have with their plans for WvW 2 years after release. And CU havent even reached Alpha stage yet.

You mean just like how ArenaNet communicated much more before release?
That is basically what every single company does.
They communicate massively before and during release on order to get players interested, but sooner or later all of them communicates less and less.

I think you’ll find it’s the ones where they know their game is failing that refuse to reply to players.
Games which are still steadily going on, the devs and mod at least try to reply to some threads, or post updates every now and again on how the game development is, or isnt, going.

Honestly, just look at the amount of great games coming in fall/early winter. (not MMOs but great games none the less). GW2 has a life expectancy of 4-5 more months maximum if they only keep doing this boring LS crap (last episode I was literally yawning all the way through) and do not provide a worthy competitive expansion.

Even ESO has had 3 features patches and is starting to look quite tempting.

GW2 has been killed by ESO, Wildstar, new WoW expansion, [insert any new game here] and yet it still looks very much alive.

The “next big thing” will always kill all games that was released before it, but usually those games doesn’t die from it.

its not other games that will kill gw2, its gw2 that will kill gw2. The people go to other games when they are dissatisfied. And, my guess is numbers are down, last reported quarter showed a noticeable drop in earnings from EU, i think the downward trend will continue, Wildstar did actually take a number of dissatisfied players. In a few days they will have quarterly report, and though we wont see the numbers of people we will see the amount earned, its safe to say if they are gaining money they wont mind less players much.

Your right, shouldn’t have mentioned another game… The reason I’m so disappointing about the lack of WvW development is only because I care about Guild Wars 2.

Other games are being discussed in the PvE forum also: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Is-endgame-being-developed-or-what

Honestly I think the LS is leaving PvE players on their appetite also, it’s nowhere comparable in content to the GW1 expansions.

World vs. World
Updated the names on past WvW tournament world-placement achievements.
The Toxic Unveiling Volley skill no longer shows up on an Arrow Cart’s skill bar until the skill has been unlocked.
Guild Arrow Cart skill-damage tooltips now properly reflect their superior-level damage.

ITS WHAT WE’VE ALL BE WAITING FOR THE WVW FEATURE PATCH!

Let me summarise for you the patch notes, since the big april 15th patch:

May 20 Content Release Notes
World vs. World
•Fixed a bug in which Ballista Mastery V wasn’t working while operating a superior ballista.
•Updated the text for WvW-related daily achievements.

June 3 Content Release Notes
World vs. World
General
•The Battle Historian now has WvW tournament rewards. These rewards will be temporarily disabled while we resolve an issue with Tournament Ticket distribution.
•Due to fierce financial competition, one of the armor and weapons merchants in each staging area has declared bankruptcy and moved on. Their goods have been claimed by the remaining merchants.
•The player-count requirement for breakout events has been lowered from 10 to 5.

Edge of the Mists – who cares.

June 17 Content Release Notes
World vs. World
•All players who qualified for rewards from the Spring 2014 Tournament have been given 100 additional WvW Tournament Claim Tickets.
•World vs. World Spring 2014 Tournament placement achievements and associated tournament chests have been redistributed.
•The Battle Historian’s Tournament Rewards tab has been re-enabled.

July 1 Content Release Notes
WvW section missing.

July 15 Content Release Notes
World vs. World
•Fixed an issue preventing the WvW armorsmith vendors from selling to level 60-69 characters.
•Fixed an issue in which Build Master II caused the incorrect amount of supply to be spent when building burning oil, cannons, and mortars.

To be honest, I’d switch all of these for a bug fix on the “stuck while building siege, switch weapons, or type an emote” thing.

BTW, just so some of you know, some of us are still waiting for Anet to switch us from the server we “were” on to the one we “are on” and it’s been six weeks or more…

Representing doesn’t mean a thing if you are still representing the last server or even FARTHER BACK than you are on right now.

What I think I’ve just heard again is apparently the result of an inwardly focused culture that seems to value internal processes above customers (concerns/experience.)

I hope I heard that wrong.

I’m at a total loss to understand this, both as a retired software developer and as a customer.

Not sure how to think about this: on the one hand, some players will appreciate the response; I personally would have felt better not having seen it (reinforces unwanted concept).

Well stated.

Like our government who says, literally, slight paraphrase, "We answered your query the way we wanted to answer, you can’t contact us again on this subject (put any problem here.).

Not kidding, just received that letter from my Senator who is the epitome of the problems in this game.

Funny thing, they are both in the very same state with the very same attitudes:

“You don’t count, I do, and nothing you say matters no matter what “it” might be."

“You don’t count, I do, and nothing you say matters no matter what “it” might be."

So that’s the same as saying “We develop the game, you dont, we’ll make the game how we see it”

Well enjoy playing the game by yourselves then!
