But it makes perfect sense to repair a broken wall or gate after an attack or during even (to prevent further incoming attackers).
Any respectable WvW player wouldn’t waste supply on a wall that continues to be trebbed (no matter what the attraction of an achievement is he says doggedly, looking at that kittening level meter that just needs a few more done to complete). Newbies will do it until they have been ‘re-educated’ – chievies are, well .. just chievies and will do what they will.
We have few enough specific daily tasks that we can do .. don’t reduce them.
(I have to know! In WvW, do Legendary NPCs drop Legendary loot?)
It’s problematic because often it’s not doable due to factors outside the player’s control.
compared to the other WvW daily objectives, there’s a lot more involved in being in a situation to progress on it. depending on the server/tier/timezone… it’s something you might not be able to do for weeks/months.

I think all achievements in WvW should be removed entirely from the three BLs and EB. (reserve them only for the Edge of the Mists Map if they need to exist at all). I think instead of achievements a static reward system should be implemented for each server based on their season performance in PPT scoring.
As you mention, achievements run counter productive to strategic gameplay. They junk up the server population with loot hounds and achievement junkies that would rather help themselves than help the server team.

Achievements in WvW should all be useful for WvW…
I agree the restorer one is harmful to WvW.
But taking camps, sentinels, killing yaks, are usefull thus, they should stay…
And there should also be defense achievements in dailies, that are not situational, like yak escort…
Caping bloodlust points should be getting bloodlust instead, useless to have people running around points insulting players who try to get bloodlust because they can’t get their caps fast enough.
