I have seen this happen multiple times and its starting to get on my nerves. So far I have seen a mesmer, an ele a ranger and a guardian revive off of completely nothing and walk away. It first happened when I attacked a ranger with my friend. We downed him in the middle of an open field. he used his mist form and ran but instead of going back down he came back up fully rallied and RTLed away. My friend and I checked for any random mobs that he might have tagged before hand but no mob spawns were even close in the open field we were in. Similar events happened where people would just get up before even using any of their abilities without any mobs around for them to possibly rally off of. Its starting to annoy me and after asking around I heard from other people in my server that they had seen it too. What the hell is this bug if it is a bug at all?

Not unless it’s a new bug.
But I imagine that would have been noticed earlier than this

OH thank god Im not completely insane it IS possible.

It’s also very possible he was fighting someone earlier and when they died, he received credit, rallying. I’ve had people die halfway across the map from me and me rally in seemingly open fields before.

I thought I was crazy. I’ve seen this happen a couple times thinking “how did they rally?!”.

It’s always been a small skirmish with a few on each side, and always in a close fight, where you are super focused. I’ve seen players downed and then get downed myself and they seem to rally with no player res or environments in sight.

I have my doubts this is some kind of an exploit/hack. Id say there is a more legit reason for it.

There is also the off chance they leveled. I have rallied from down after having repaired a wall that was being trebbed a couple minutes before. Defend the tower Event completed I got credit, leveled, and got up. Then got downed again. I’m not very good it turns out.

Just had this happened to me (as the downed guy). Was a lifesaver actually, leveled a couple seconds after being downed because we had just lost a keep on the other side of the map and I got a failed defense credit.

Yeah I had the same thing happen (rally off level up). Some event must’ve finished right as I got downed inside a huge enemy zerg. I saw people who were trying to stomp me fly away from the level up KB.

Huh, well that makes more sense.

When I get those level ups mid-battle it’s like the universe handed me a rainbow-unicorn shooting bow personally, to smite my enemies!

Just imagine if a large [guild] group got all their chars within a hundred XP of next level, and mid-battle your enemy sees you all getting golden halo super saiyen power ups as they get that kill that brings them over the next skill point level.

If you are talking about multiple opponents, one possibility is that there was an engineer that had the elixir that creates the remove conditions/heal downed players field with the tool-belt skill. It can be thrown so it is possible to rez a downed player with that and not be close to them.

Im curious when Rangers got RTL and Mist form… Lol, in all seriousness, I hope it gets fixed if there is a bug.

Hmm, this happened to me once today. I didn’t know why I popped up but I shrugged and ran with it. Thank you Grenth!

I’ve also had my mist form not turn me to mist, so I just ran quickly away, but I assumed that was lag.

One time I was chasing down an engineer with 2 team mates in open field with no NPC mobs nearby and somehow the engi managed to rally 4 times each about a second after we would down him until finally his downed health was so low from repeatedly being killed that he just died on the spot the next time we downed him. This makes me think that there are hacks to let you rally from downed, although the ele you fought could have tagged people previously and got a luck rally. Personally I don’t really care for downed state because in small group roaming play about 80% of players will be thieves and every thief has shadow refuge to stealth downed allies making stomps completely useless.

Rangers have an elite spirit that has a 2 sec cast time on an instant res around it. If the ranger times it right, before he downs he casts that, he gets back up as the spirit finishes its cast.

Engineer has an elixir that he can drop on the ground before he dies that heals fallen allies (or something) for 20% health a tick or so (not sure, I’m not a engi) and will revive him if you don out dps it.
