I’m not sure if this has been posted yet and I’m not going to claim this as my idea. There is a discussion going on over at the GW2 forums about getting people to play later on in the matchups. The idea put forth was to take the score off the scoreboard.

By removing the score from the game, you are far likelier to get individuals into the matchups because they will be unaware that they are actually down 70k points. I’m not saying remove scoring. I’m saying just remove the ability for people to see it. ANet can then post the scores as the end of the week.

You know what? My initial reaction was to just immediately dismiss this as stupid. Then I thought about it a bit, and it’s actually one of the best ideas I’ve heard in a while. I’m actually all for this.

This is one of the few good suggestions going on about progressive changes to WvW. I’ve seen it mentioned on guru. Its not my prefered solution to make scores more meaningful but it would definately have a positive effect.
