I was having a discussion with one of my guild mates last night and he suggested sentries were worth having since they light up the map and let you know where fights are happening on the map, but I disagree with him. The single guard is so laughably weak that one decently geared player could easily take it down solo. Since the fight markers don’t scale with the size of the engagement, all anyone can tell is fighting occurred.

One idea might be to make them upgradable, just like the other points, but on a much smaller scale. Players would have to bring a full bag of salvage and be allowed to add 2 guards, one per upgrade with the T3 upgrade providing a temporary swiftness buff to anyone that travels through the area.

Not overpowering, but it makes the points a little more useful, and they’d require at least a minor effort to take.

Thoughts?

The swiftness buff is a good idea since they generally sit between supply camps and an important objective. Extra guards won’t help much though. I can nearly solo an undefended supply camp, with the only thing holding me back sometimes being the claiming npc so I don’t see 2 extra guards helping sentry points.

They do kill supply caravans if they’re not guarded.
