Spiking needs to be removed.
I find joy in spiking someone to their doom. And there are ways around getting knocked back stunned etc. Hint… “Blindness” , As for the Stealth downs, For mesmers, watch for the second character to reappear, the clone is always the first, for thieves, Watch for them to “blink” away and just keep auto attacking where they blink to if they go stealth afterwords. As for elementalist… lol really.. do i have to explain this one? just hope they dont go mist form into their group/team/zerg.
And for warriors, if they get back up from downed, and not being a rally/revive, just run away from them, they will die shortly. =P

My point is at first it was a novelty which I as well found amusing. Now it has become nothing but an annoyance that I wish had never been put into the game.
Easier to just look for the red arrow.
I think they should do like they did for PvP and make it easier to finish someone who is downed by damaging him instead of it being so reliant on finishing them.
The objective is to fight, not to stop and then in slow motion (unless your lucky enough to have quickness up) Jump up in the air and come down 3 seconds later. After which 9 times out of 10 the person will vanish, knock you back/down, or just get up and run away.
If only there was the option to just continue fighting and using normal skills to kill someone instead of having to use finishers every time.
Yeah the game is too hard because I have to finish people.

80 Mesmer – 80 Necromancer
I wouldn’t mind spiking if it weren’t for zerg noobs being able to rez their fellow noob at a ridiculous rate in the middle of combat.
it’s not that hard to just shoot them to death? Thats generally what I do.
It actually irks me to see 9-10 players using [F] to kill a single player, when it would be much faster to simply shoot them to death with 9-10 players worth of dps.
Commander of Phantom Core [CORE] on Borlis Pass
So…just kill them instead? You can do that, you know.
That said, sometimes the finisher is the only viable means of actually getting rid of them. I end up in 1v2-3 and 2v3-4 a lot, and simply DPSing a downed player down isn’t enough when people are trying to revive them.
They are not going to take it out of the game. Ever.
Without stomping, down state would be way to strong in small fights.
And on the other side you see topics arguing down state needs to be removed…
No to both…
Spiking can stay if they sort the drops for player kills better, otherwise it needs to go and just make it so they have to be killed again.
Dragonbrand – Level 80 – Human Ranger
Some classes you HAVE to finish. Some you don’t have to and can beat them to death.
Other times it changes based on the battle situation.
