Charr – Ranger
Human – Guardian
Truthfully, I don’t even want to know how many tokens that I haven’t picked up after kills but I am sure that I would have more exotic gear by now than I do. Can we for the love of jesus please have a true auto-loot system. No tiny little glowing bags that you may or may not see and pick up. If you earn a bag, you just get it. Otherwise we don’t get coin and our tokens on a regular basis.
There’s a reason some “other” MMO got rid of pvp tokens you loot in their PvP battlegrounds some … what, 6? or so years ago?
There are solutions out there.
+1. No idea why auto loot doesn’t actually auto loot.
How could we catch a bag while we kill around by running?!?I generally turn back to place that i fight to search for leftover bags after the zone calms down.
I dont even wanna know how many bags and tokens i left behind me…
Annoying..
I usually hit F a couple of times after somebody dies just to grab the darn things. Annoying when I miss them…wouldnt mind what OP mentioned.
they can’t for technical reasons. that’s the answer we got the the BETA. It will probably get fixed eventually, but right now there’s nothing we can do.
Under what circumstances do the PVP tokens from WvW actually drop? Seems hit or miss for me.
guys, they are working on it!!!
it used to be worse..
when you did kill someone, if you got credit, while on siege or if they ran a mile away, the bag would be on the corpse and then you would have to search the battlefield for loot bags.
then the devs came on in the beta forums and obliged our requests and let us know that while they could not currently make things spawn directly in the inventory as it caused too many other problems, that thye would instead make the bags spawn at your feet instead so people using siege would’t miss out on loot just becaues they werent on the ground fighting.
so stop with the threads, they have already stated multiple times that they are working on it, and have put in this temporary fix until they can get a permanent solution. there are a lot of other more important issues that more people would like fixed ahead of loot being left behind on a battlefield.
Give us an eta then and people will stop asking. Project management 101.
^just because you didn’t see an ETA today, doesn’t mean they didn’t give a time when they did address it.
and besides that, they can’t give an eta for a problem that hasn’t been solved yet, thats ridiculous to even ask, it sounds like you are a me-me-me person.
they said “we are trying to find a way to implement this, but keep running into problems that occur when spawning things in your inventories directly”. and said that they will be working on finding a solutions.
hold your horses bud
It would be nice if when you get badges in your loot drop, you simply get ‘awarded’ the token. Keep the loot bags with the sell-able items inside, but as far as the tokens go, make them a type of currency or automatically placed in your inventory.
I suggested this a month ago it got shot down because it broke peoples immersion and wasn’t logical. In wvw it can get hectic most of the time you’re moving and in the middle of a fight you don’t want to keep spamming the F button to make sure you get every loot possible. Also here is an example say you tagged an opponent earlier and went to chase down his ally the first enemy you tagged gets killed by your ally and a bag drops while you’re jumping down a structure now you have to go all the way back to get the loot bag-.-
they can’t for technical reasons. that’s the answer we got the the BETA. It will probably get fixed eventually, but right now there’s nothing we can do.
technical reasons my kitten #8230; thechnical reason is when a computer blows up. And yes we can do nothing but they can do and change that.
Honestly I would prefer a point system like (dare I say it) abyss points or even something identical to glory but for wvw
If putting badges directly in player’s inventory will cause more problems than solve it, then I suggest they remove badge/coin/mat drop altogether. Instead, have an npc at spawn point that you can talk to who rewards you the badges/coin/loot bags for your kills, caps and more.
To put it simply, instead of all the drops spawning at your feet, it will go towards a holding ‘bank’ of sort (the npc), which you can talk to whenever you’re back at the spawn point to collect your drops.
@ Kracin if this is a good company, you’d identify a problem (if it is even a problem to this company). Setup a project schedule. IE: 30 days to resolve. You would then let your customer know what the ETA is. If you are in jeopardy of missing that time frame. You need to re baseline your project and extend commitments.
That being said the 30 days is just an example of how long one of their internal projects would take.
Agreed with OP… in WvW you’re almost always on the move, little time for looking for tiny little bags. This needs an adjustment.
Honestly in the beta weekends when I read they were spawning them at our feet I thought “hey that isn’t too bad, that should make it pretty reasonable”
Then I got and game and realized that there is at least a half second spawn delay, the bag itself doesn’t appear for another second sometimes, the bag spawns at the BEGINNING of your roll if you are rolling midkill, and there are sometimes random delays for when you can hit the f button and pick up the loot.
Honestly if the whole “spawn at your feet” worked well, it wouldn’t be THAT bad (obviously I still prefer autoloot), but the fact that even with a spawn at your feet mechanic at least 80% of the time by the time the bag appears to me I’m at least 5-10 feet away…ya it kind of defeats the purpose.
