The 33K Kill Shot in WvW
I don’t find Kill Shot to be an issue. There are plenty of classes that could burst you badly if you gave them the amount of time kill shot requires. Not only that but it requires adrenaline.
Easiest thing if you are worried about kill shot is run some sort of reflection if you have it. 33k killshot intended for a naked noob will likely to 20k to the glass cannon 80 who tried to shoot him.
I can’t count the number of times I tried to see someone Kill shot me and I dropped a reflect in their face.

How do we know this isn’t getting a warrior with Frenzy on? That would easily hit this hard on a GC warrior with frenzy up.
As for “lawl, QQ bout backstabz” Warriors can’t stealth and repeat when they miss, screw up, etc.
I doubt the shot was setup on purpose, but I’m pretty sure it was most likely something to the effect of either lowbie, frenzy debuffed, etc.
Here’s the thing: 33k should not be possible for ANY single attack in this game. I get it…it’s cool. I get it…there’s a timer. I get it…you like doing massive damage in 1 hit. This is ridiculously stupid. Hell…10-15k to someone with 3k+ Armour is ridiculous. I have 14k HP as a Guardian, that’s literally 2/3 or more of my HP in 1 single attack through a very very large amount of defense. In a 1v1 or a world without Culling it’s a fair attack, though I’d personally also say some kinda little flashing “Gun” icon should pop up over their heads for THAT much damage…but there is NO way to know it’s coming in WvW unless you are insanely lucky.

ive had 30k on other frenzied rifle warriors several times before. the funny ones are the piercing shots that do like 50k+ dmg to a fresh pile of portal bombers.
also ive had a volley or two do 18-22k. yeah its as balanced as it sounds.

Yes sir. A 33K Killshot from an actual WvW skirmish. If it indeed requires zero timing it should be easy to reproduce.

Here’s a hint for the less informed new player of MMO’s such as yourself, Pushing 1 button to kill some random noob in PvP isn’t timing…Its playing a class with a high damage killshot against undergeared noobs…Nothing to do with timing…
The only timing you’re going to get from it is how long your epeen stays up from your pretty screenshot.
If you actually had to aim your shot, and guess where he was moving, That would be timing… Till then you’re just another terribad Warrior with a gun.

I was running around in WvW the other day shooting critters because our opponents weren’t around. After getting a full adrenaline bar, I used Kill Shot on a rabbit.
I hit it for 324,768. Also got my rank 7 overkill achievement in the process.

Ok .I will roll a lvl1 new toon,unequip all armor and weapons and come to wvw.Try to kill me with any killshot if this skill is op like many try to make it seem.
I give anyone 100 tries of killing a lvl1 naked toon with killshot and i can bet my xmas presents you can’t make the kill.

the player killed is no longer in the picture it seems. Look at the screenshot again, he’s been hit by also another class, he’s safe from combat, and now looking at his dmg. What level 80 hits only a few hundred on grenades?
Those non-crit numbers for grenade 1 are actually fairly typical for a fully exotic geared lvl 80 with 30 points in Explosions post nerf. Going full glass cannon you could probably squeeze a little more out of it, considering Super Elixir was “fixed” as well that would be a very bad idea though.

So when all your damage goes into a single attack, when happens when I dodge roll or use a block?
Warrior then proceeds to bull charge you and lay the 100B smackdown on you. It’s not like they have only 1 weapon that can do high burst.

Shockingly they aren’t as good as the ranger.
Its a difference in how the damage is dealt.
1500 range, tons of conditions and moderate damage.
1200 range constant sustained damage or 2 burst skills.
But that’s fine, we all get rangers are weaker than they should be. They aren’t however the garbage people want to make them out to be.

not much of a surprise. Anet has already made it clear enough that Warrior is their favorite class and they want it to be better than all others. just surprised they havent given it stealth, teleport, and a machine gun.

Please! They still want warriors to party at least sometime, hence why they’re given a number of blast finishers (including every banner), but only one type of combo field (fire, for might stacking). Let the other classes lay out the smoke field and they’ll stealth the party with stomp/earthshaker/bannerofX/etc. SYNERGY!
Incidentally they have a faux-teleport; it’s sword skill #2, which is a leap attack (Savage Leap I think). And Asura warriors have machine guns in their golems. :P

So… much… win…
IMO they only spend a time playing war/thief… and look at spreadsheets for the rest.
So they looked on a sheet and saw that eng nades were doing a lot of damage… regardless that you can literally walk out of the aoe before they land. That’s why almost no one was complaining about eng nade damage. They also might see that nade eng’s pay for their damage irl with carpel tunnel (dear god fix it to where I don’t have to spam my keyboard so much on my eng).
If they actually plaid the other classes they would have noticed many of the problems/bugs they are having before the patches hit (ex. mesmers phantasms issues in the past few recent patches)
If the dev’s aren’t willing/able to fully test out everything (and in fairness I’m sure they are busy and doubt they have time)… then please for kittens sake put up a public test server so we can do it for you before these things go live and we have to deal with new bugs, , glitches, unintended nerfs, etc. for at least a month.

I was pleasantly surprised that there was more ways than one to finish of a low health guardian (usually people stack conditions).
The first time an 80 glass cannon warrior Kill Shot me my health dropped from about 5 thousand to less than a hundred, and I breathed a sigh of relief, broke combat, waypointed, looked at the log, talked to a warrior friend, and thought “that’s pretty cool”.
That’s not your typical warrior, their play-style it’s different, has its own unique challenges and drawbacks. It only hits people with no armor for 33k (you can do the math, it’s just a division problem). You should be able to one shot level 1s who have no armor.
First thing I do on lowbies for WvW is invest in toughness and vitality because it scales and you need it to survive at all in WvW.
tldr: I’m a Guardian and a Mesmer and I’m glad thieves and warriors have these powerful abilities.
