Alright.. I wanted to create this thread in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, some of the people who ‘think’ some people are hacking, could come to a better understanding of what really is going on.

I would like to preface the following, that I do not pretend that there are not hackers in GW2, nor do I condone their behaviors. However, when players use their brains with tools that ANet has provided them, then get spammed by multiple people from opposing servers, with shall we say less than kind remarks, it gets a little tiring.

That all being said… When ANet introduced the new Field of Vision camera changes, it opened the door to a WIDE view of areas. Simply put, on multi-monitor setups, with the camera view set to its highest height and viewing angle, you CAN see over most tower/keep walls… and while using Arrow Carts you CAN pan your camera to be able to ground target behind the wall. This is the single-most item that gets called out for hacking. Is it? Maybe an ANet dev needs to chime in, however, those of us with multi monitor setups can pan our camera WITHOUT any sort of hacking, just simple right-click swivel around, and we’re able to target/hit inside walls. (You can also simulate this effect by running your game in windowed-mode, and sizing your window to full-width but only half height…. think of like a filmstrip viewing ratio of 21:9)

Now let’s also think about the physics behind an arrow cart… It’s a projectile… Why wouldn’t you be able to fire it up and over a wall to hit object behind it?

So Anet, please advise us on what we are to do, when being spammed by people, claiming we’re hacking, and saying they’re reporting us and sending videos of us to you…

yeah.. i have been called hacker too, simply because i was able to target the enemy’s arrow cart and destroy it with dragon’s tooth…. zzzzz

Using super speed and rocket boots to jump into keeps isn’t hacking either but it’s still a pretty kittenty thing to do

The arrow cart and rocket boot jumping are exploiting weaknesses in the game design, which is generally frowned upon by developers. I’d imagine there is a clause you agreed to somewhere saying you wouldn’t do it. That said, if they can’t be kitten d to fix it, just keep doing it.
