So if the matchups continue the way they are going all of tier 1 will end up playing against each other again in tier 4.

So lets assume that they all perform to the same lvl’s next week….

they might end up playing each other a couple weeks in a row in tier 4.

While it’s not very likely they will end up playing more then 3 weeks in a row that is the only matchup that will be the constant in the next couple weeks.

Crazy. So, the T4 wall is going to be re-created. xD

Eventually a tier 5 match will generate enough to vault one into tier 4 thus forcing one of the the three down. That tier 5 match will be an absolute blowout and the new tier 4 matchup will blow that third server up causing them to tank in rating forcing those two up to tier three with the third server going back to tier 4 preparing for another blowout. Somehow this is “good for the game”.

What will be funny is when someone finally breaks out of T4 (under this hypothetical scenario) it’ll likely be a stompfest up to T2, then whatever server is unfortunate enough to get into the vacant T4 slot will be pounded into submission… eventually the three will meet in T2 depending on how much of a point lead the “T1” (quotes intended) servers build up there. We’re potentially looking at a few months of things being screwy until the real T1 servers get back up there which is unfortunate considering how much the three have worked to get / hold their T1 status.

The biggest loser here is Kaineng…they finally get to tier 1 and suddenly all the tier 1 servers bail 3 tiers below xD

Probably the way its going to work is Tier 4 servers are not going to move up, but everyone else will move down from getting blown out by BG, TC or FA.

But there are essentially 4 T1 servers currently. I wish for a 4 way matchup SoS, JQ, SoR, BG. Seems like theres always going to be an uneven balance in at least T2.

All I can say is you have to love Anet’s changes.

Ya it was a really bad decision to reset, when finally what we have for the most part are balanced match ups except for 2-3 servers.

no it wasnt. tier 8 was a trap for any hapless server unfortunate enough to drop to it because of the rating differential. a server could have won by a small margin and lose 100 rating on their first reset, which was then impossible to recover with similar showings. heaven forbid they lose the first week like SF did. it took DR 8 or 10 weeks to get out of it. it took kain 4+ weeks of total domination to get out.

I doubt it will create much of a wall for the second week because if it stays close, servers that score blowouts will skip past T4 and servers that get owned in higher tiers will drop to T5 or lower.

odds are they will be planning to do a reset every “insert time period”

So it’s best to give them as much feed back so that they and better plan out the next one.

Alot of servers were complaining about always facing the same servers so maybe this is the only solution to that senario. Plus people saying they can’t get map completion….

either way if the servers keep getting tossed about tier 4 will continue to be the 3 big servers.

Where has Guild Wars 2 officials posted next week’s match-ups? Before then, any talk of next weeks match-ups is just speculation.

Of course it does. It means the moment one of us breaks out there will be a series of completely screwed up weeks as the victims unfortunate enough to face the T1 servers get steamrolled, plus there’s the matter of pride the servers that legitimately earned their T1 spots have. How many weeks has JQ been in T1? Every week was fought for and earned, not gifted due to a fluky reset.

JQ has faced a total of 7 different opponents since the 1 week matches began. Ferguson’s Crossing 6. For some servers, I think the rating reset could create a little bit of fun for awhile if only to see some different opponents for a change. Yes there will be some blow outs, but I think some games will also be pretty good. Assuming the reset takes place, I’m personally looking forward to seeing some new server names up on the WvW match frame for a little while.

The novelty of new server names will wear out quickly and you will be left with a pointless week of WvW. Although ironically, it looks like JQ could end up facing SoS and SoR again, just in a lower tier.

keyword being awhile. After the novelty wears off, reality of getting crushed for weeks is gonna be super fun in those mismatches. On the other end of the spectrum those WvW focused guilds in T1 will have exhilarating time fighting mostly casual guilds & doors. No offense intended but I think its gonna be rough.

I know exactly what it implies, and have no problem with it. It seems many don’t see things my way though, which is understandable … my views are very biased based on my own situation. For example, I’ve never been on the receiving end of a total and utter blow out. I’m sure those that have carry an entirely different view on the matter.

Kaineng isn’t in T1. SoR however is for the very first time this week.
