Lets get a list together of the top 6 servers folks can transfer to for top end WvW.

It needs to be 6, otherwise tier 2 will be a 2 server tier.

Sea of Sorrows got some transfers from the TA breakup as well. Only reason they’re not decimating is because they are in a match against SoR which also got transfers last week.

I think Tarnished Coast looks like it may be the next closest after SoS.

why do people need to transfer all over the place all the time?

This list needs to show queue times and server time zone weaknesses if it is a serious one that is trying to make 6 to 9 strong 24/7 worlds. I believe Laylyn is working on such a list and has been trying to help servers recruit for the time zones needed. I can’t find the original thread atm but here is a cut & paste section of it from guru . Lets not have any more massive random server transferring if we can help it. Yes it is up to the community to make this stuff happen in a way works well for everyone so lets keep it logical. These lists can be improved with more data.

Any list that is made needs to get re made from week to week, and because of this it can’t be considered stable for the higher brackets… may work for the lower ones though.

Don’t you guys have friends who play this game? Or guilds which you belong to? Why can’t you just stay on your server and make your own rankings higher? And don’t you lose the ability to play with those friends or guilds when you just jump all over the place?

The real difference between T1 and T6 is the number of people playing WvW. If you find a WvW guild on a mid tier server, you will have a very fun time while simultaneously causing that server to rise in the rankings.

Transfering to the top 6 does NOT make WvW more fun for anyone.

I’d put Tarnished Coast on the list of great servers to transfer to. We are a few non NA Prime Time guilds away from really pushing to be in the top 2 Tiers. We will be in Tier 3 next week as we do very well during the day.

Also, our queue times are not that bad. The first night of a new wipe is pretty rough, but after that the queue times are far lower than the servers above us in higher tiers. I’ve had people from the higher Tier servers say they often wait 2-4 hours to get into WvW. I’ve hardly ever waited longer than 30 minutes and we usually have no queues after 10pm pac.

Anyone looking to transfer that can help fill up our late night or early morning hours (Oceanic and EU I’m looking for you), think about coming to Tarnished Coast. We have a community that has been praised by those that are here as being the best they’ve seen on any server.

SoS and SoR need more coverage. Both will get destroyed in tier 2. A group of BG Oceanics transfered to SoR and took the whole mao in like 6 hours. It`s still a top 4 with 5 and 6 way below at this point just like when HoD was in charge except the top 4 are close now.

Yea the top 6 servers wont be the top 6 in a couple weeks I cann assure you of that while these transfers are open. Really 2 weeks ago ET and HoD were top 6, next week they will both be in tier 3 probably

And the list doe alot more harm then good. Being on JQ I can tell you if the people keep xfering in we wont be in tier 1 cause for the most part the bandwagoners are horrible and just take up space.
Very hard to be effective when more then half your guild is in a queue and the “I never buy siege, I never carry supply, I take supply from garrison and keeps to repair walls being trebbed, I auto attack reinforced doors, I wander around mindlessly with anyone with a blue icon crew” is in their place

WHAT? I play only for WvW and here’s what the last 2 weeks have been…

Sitting at spawn points looking at a zerg with siege equipment or….
You and small zerg take a supply depot or tower only to see a much bigger zerg come and take it in a fraction of the time.

So yes, being able to do something in WvW will be fun for me which nullifies your “not make WvW more fun for anyone”.

You know what would make WvW really fun? If a bunch of the top WvW guilds would spread out as even as they could on all the servers. Not just transfer from a top tier WvW server to a middle tier server. Low queue times, some oranization on each server which may bleed into other people “getting it” how WvW is suppose to be which would lead to a much healthier WvW game for EVERYONE.

I think Anet could continue to phase out free transfers. Instead of limiting to 24 hours, limit to once a week while we have weekly match ups. Then as the brackets stabilize, they can go to charging gems for transfers. I just hope we don’t go to bi-weekly match ups anytime soon. I’m on Blackgate (and have been there since launch) and this would be terrible for us.

It does harm to YOU, not the people transferring. Even if the new people lost on the new server, it’s a much better WvW experience then most have been having by far.

No it does more harm to the server and the system.
A person who randomly walks around following a commander from place to play not contributing anything except auto attacking they can do that on any server.

People need to focus on making the other servers more competitive instead of bandwagoning onto the best and most popular servers. Let’s get a list together of servers that need more help in terms of overall WvW population, proper night teams, and people/guilds who are willing to help organize and take charge.

I think we should make list of server hoppers and where they are so people on their server know who their fairweather spineless friends are.

There’s not enough population to make all the servers competitive. Once everything starts to settle from this last group of transfers, serious WvW players need to look into moving up to the t2-t3 servers to make them more competitive.

Should be encouraging people to transfer to the bottom 6 servers really

What? Of course there is. We have ranks and brackets for a reason. The goal is for each bracket to have an equal chance against each other. Right now for most servers there is one server in their bracket that is owning everyone and the other two servers have little chance. That needs to be fixed. No not everyone needs to be in 1st place but not everyone wants to be in first. They just want the matchups that their server sees to be even matches. Right now that is not the case.

The problem is the tier system doesn’t function properly if the population of the server can change drastically mid match. Its placing was based on its previous population, not its current, and that breaks the tier system, resulting in messed up matches.

Do nothing? You can do way more when you dominate a server then you can being dominated because of your servers WvW size. Wow, we can take out a sentry and then have to run from the zerg. I do love taking a tower and then have it instantly taken back over by the dominating team because they have numbers. Yes, 2 people can take out a supply depot only to have it retaken over 5 minutes later in a fraction of the time.

From time to time a smaller population can get enough people together to have some battles, but more times then not it’s a slaughter and if you try to take anything out on the map, you can be sure a zerg will be there to farm you.

I think the thought of this thread is to just designate 6 servers as the competitive servers and if you wish to be competitive go there BECAUSE the big population servers with the queues have decided to not move to smaller servers to increase the amount of competitive servers in WvW and reduce their queues which would allow them have more time playing WvW.

I HATE the idea of consolidation… I wish there wasn’t a dominate server or set of dominate servers because it’s better for the community, but it’s getting to the point where people are walking away from the game because it isn’t fun.

My only guess is that ArenaNet thought the people would be smart enough to spread the WvW to all servers, they were wrong, instead you have people complaining about queues that can be fixed easily by moving to another server because most people don’t care about “fun”, they care about winning and the bonuses and chest pounding they can do because of it.

Just like most PvP games, the top PvPers say too bad to the worse players and soon after, have a very small pool of players to play against. PvP needs as many people in it as possible.

I’m still confused why there’s a free transfer every day? You’d think if playing with your friends were that important, you’d be on their server. If you have friends on multiple servers either persuade them to move or make a decision till the guest ability shows up.

There’s enough WvW people that ALL servers could be competitive with each other(and have lower queues), the only problem is that people don’t want to be competitive, they want to win and with that, they pile onto the server that does that for them. You actually make money on a winning server, getting your kills, taking over towers and keeps, on a server that’s losing, you just keep having to repair and lose money overall. Mind you I’m talking about servers who are just getting destroyed because people are moving around on servers to make the current tiered system invalid for making balanced matches.

I have had a lot of people message me here and in game to tell me how happy they were that they made the move to Tarnished Coast. Particularly guilds outside of NA who are able to have an immediate impact with our late night group as they now suddenly have no queue times.

It’s also been pointed out many times in many other threads that the maturity level, co-operation between guilds, and community feel on Tarnished Coast seems to be a lot higher than other servers being the nature of the server itself.

With all due respect to Tarnished Coast, SoR is going to dominate their tier 3 matchup so I am fully expecting a massive influx of fair weather players onto SoR next week that will move off the following week when SoR gets moved up to Tier 2.

Sanctum of Rall is going to turn into Crystal Desert and will get 1 week in tier 2 before being crushed and never seeing it again.

The following 6 servers were the only ones with full population

JQ/SBI/IoJ/BG/SoS/TC

I’m not so sure that TC is a good server to transfer too. TC often get’s stomped by the T2 and especially T1 servers. Though I admit they could use some Oceanic players. Their North America Primetime is already pretty packed. If you do think it’s a good server to transfer too. Europe and as mentioned Oceanic. Otherwise if your NA you will end up with the same 1-3 que’s.

Just depends on what your plans are – if your focus is being on a Tier 1 server for WvW and being in a ultra competitive WvW atmosphere, then no, TC is probably not a good choice. If your focus is being on a server with a nice friendly community that is very active, though not Tier 1 (and probably just shy of what a solid T2 server looks like in WvW, mainly due to coverage times), then it is a good choice.

It is the un-official RP server too, so the diversity of interests on the server makes it kind of unique. Although I’m sure folks would welcome some WvW focused guilds to our server, we are also very happy with the teamwork and positivity we see in both our PVE and WvW environments, even if we aren’t always winning in the WvW maps, and so I personally would hope anyone who came to TC would have this in mind and would seek to help us preserve what I perceive as a very positive community.

As long as there are free transfers you’re hurting yourself by not playing along. I held out for a while too. Dragonbrand completely emptied of pvp-ers and anytime I went out it was impossible odds. Now I’ve transfered and am having fun in well matched battles again.

I dont need to win the war, just have a shot at it maybe and win the odd battle.

No. And no again. Please do not transfer to the lower tier servers. We are attempting to fight and prove ourselves without the drama, grand standing, chaos and egos that come with the infusion of a glut of “power guilds” looking for a solution to their boredom.

You’ve made names for yourselves in the top tiers. We’re all very proud of you. However…we really don’t want you muddying the waters in the lower tiers.
