Transfers, Links, and Population Data
They can run with the constant zerg and hit 1 and get the tickets, and there’s not many times when there is an outnumbered map.
Zergs don’t get pips faster than anyone else. Badges of honor, karma, loot, sure, but not pips and tickets.
You do if you’re consistently coming 1st and it takes much less effort to maintain your participation in a zerg. Hence why anet yet against fails to break up zerging and indeed makes it worse because they fundamentally don’t understand the mode.
But their Zerg is so big that they can just spam one? And you are not outnumbered thus giving you more pips per tick?
Population deficits have caused problems, but Pips isn’t one of them.
Outnumbered also depends on the 3rd server, thus it is not consistent even facing BG.
If BG outnumbers the map, both servers will get it.
I’m pretty sure that not correct unless they have changed it. Heck I’ve been on EBG when we’ve been significantly outnumbered by both other servers and we still don’t get outnumbered buff.
Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
So this is why servers like Desolation are ‘Full’.
Desolation has been a populated PVE server since launch, but since the introduction of megaservers, we’ve had this population on here filling up the quota?
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.
Deleting worlds and redistributing players is something that has been considered and discussed. In the way described it is not an option that we feel works to solve the complex issue of world population balance. There are many factors involved many that are not immediately obvious without the data we have access to.
Let’s see some of this data please.
timezone participation is hard to balance
Merge Tiers
In SPvP 4 vs 5 means Game over.
In WvW it’s more like 2 vs 5 for many Servers and for way too long
WvW is too broken to be fixed with a Screwdriver
It needs a Hammer to restore the fun.
And the few days after the last Pip Patch where all maps were full were the best days in WvW since years where winning or losing did not matter at all because people just had alot of fun on all maps around the Clock.
1. World sizes are based on WvW play hours and players. People who do not play WvW, or are guests, do not factor into the population size of a server. If a world is locked, it is because it has a larger population than our “Full” threshold.
2. Yes and no. We look at timezone participation but timezone participation is hard to balance because people who play at certain times tend to all gravitate towards the same worlds so they can play with a lot of people. There are not enough off-hour worlds that we could link to create 24-hour coverage for every world. It just is not possible with our current world populations.
3. Yes, high population servers are usually the benchmark for when we link worlds. For example, if Blackgate has 10 players and it’s the highest populated server, then we try to link worlds so their populations are also around 10. We can’t be totally precise so sometimes worlds might end up with 12 or 9 but we try to get as close as possible.
We are having major issues in WvW mostly because the linking system makes it impossible for most servers to have enough players to cover what three linked servers or even two can field during many times of the day or night. can.
There is no ‘balance’ in the linking system, which I posit as a cause, not a symptom of WvW health and population roller-coaster ups and downs.
Secondly, where I used to be able to understand most people on my server, now I can understand few on many servers – Korean for one – doesn’t even come up on the screen – leaving blank pages and pages of chat text space where information about the enemy or properties should be. Spanish for another. I can’t speak either and I can’t communicate with others who can’t speak English at all. So how is that a ‘game’ and not a ‘we are working at cross purposes’ which we are much of the time, hurting the server and all players who are striving for points to win any skirmish or week?
How can anyone believe that if we don’t have a common language or approximately the same populations, that any ‘fight’ is viable or winnable? They aren’t.
The moves which might be lucrative for Anet coffers aren’t healthy for WvW which was supposed to be a cooperative environment with people who can and do get to know one another – it isn’t happening any longer.
And because of so many glitches and imbalances in blobs coupled with lack of a common language, many of us are spending fewer hours in WvW, both of which have yet to be addressed.

Based on today’s link and transfer update, this analysis from ANET is failing the player base. Our server continues to have low participation, but is still closed and still has no server link.
The issue won’t go away unless people ready to accept drastic changes.

I’m on TC. Even when we were in T3 and still falling we lost guilds to BG. It makes no sense that the T1 server would be open and the almost constantly outnumbered T3 and falling server would be closed (at that point anyway, that’s been a while back).
I get that they don’t want anything to happen to BG, but they need to revisit their current setup.
Te Nosce [TC]
Because wvw pop status use a fixed threshold which is itself full of flaws for 24 hours pvp content.
