Guild Wars 2

I quit gw2 after the first year and im back now for the second expansion. I always roamed as condi or celestial ele back then. Well I had a rather “nice” experience with a thief some minutes ago. He two hit me (well I guess a steal was involved so more than 2 hits) and was basicaly permanently evading. I used full dire gear so i was actually rather tanky. So what is that and how to deal with it because 4 years ago as celestial d/d roamer I cant remember anything dealing so much damage to me.

Prob a mix of Pulmonary spam aswell.Pay attention to your boon bar when youre getting cc’d.Pulmonary is an effect you get after you get cc interrupted by a thief that basically explodes after a while of being applied.This can be stacked aswell,and this can be spammed aswell.Dont know the exact damage but i think 3 – 4k is easily doable,add 1k dmg ontop of it with Drain sigil .If you see thief spamming his p4 from range to you,do not attack yet so you wont get interrupted and pulm doesnt apply,let him waste some init while he does so.

Its a glassy daredevil build, if they surprise you, you can easily die but they can not take a hit. If you class can survive their burst with your classes uh oh button, blind or a dodge then you can countering them. Daredevils vault skill (6-9k)was what killed you its a mid range damage/evade skill. If a DD spam vault 3 times they run out of initiative. Yea all of the elite spec are a power creep compared to core professions.

They could have been using macros and it just seemed like a 2 hit kill. Look in your log, you will probably see a few skills going off in an amount of time that’s just not possible using keys. People on here will say otherwise but I’ve been insta-downed in full ascended celestial gear by 1 person as well. It’s usually a thief.
