ele SHOULD be the fastest class in the game infact…
no other profession is locked in short range…..

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

The question that should be asked is: Why are you trying to chase one guy? Seriously?

ex 1: to prevent him turning a camp
ex 2: to be able to get bloodlust bonus
ex 3: to clear your spawn area
ex 4: to prevent him to enter the keep and kill all your sieges with a superior arrowcart
ex 5: to prevent him going near the lord room and banner ress the lord

How much more reasons do you want i have many?

Still inconsequential in my mind.

1. stand in camp – if he runs away your problem is solved
2. if he is running away he isn’t getting bloodlust bonus
3. if he runs way your problem is solved. besides all spawn areas have 3 exits
4. any class can do that.
5. all warriors should be banner ressing the lord if they can. other classes can do the same.

Thieves are just as fast or faster than warriors. If either run from you – who cares? You just stopped them from doing something. You win.

here’s the thing that gets me the most about the “If they run away you win” or “Just run away from them, they can’t catch you, and you win” arguments: you’ve not won. They have. Whether they run from you or you from them you have still left an enemy on the map that can flip camps and stop supply from getting someplace, and there is usually nothing you can do about it. If they are really good they can troll multiple people at the same time with these builds.

A good perma-stealth thief with decent enough crit damage can flip a camp by themselves before most defenders can respond unless someone was already anticipating the attack and headed them off at the camp. Same is true for PU mesmers and even highly mobile wars that can easily flip in a LB once they got to the camp, and then if they had to run, change the LB back to main hand sword, etc while running away and breaking combat. I can be fairly mobile on my engie and there is no way i’m catching them/stopping them and they can be absolute game changers all by themselves. Get 2 or 3 on a map ahead of a larger 20 man group and they can get key camps flipped and golems started for a bigger push while playing distraction for that larger force. So no, letting them just run away and saying you’ve won is not ideal nor should it be so easily done.

Hmm no, cause mostly that running is done in order to reset combat and warriors have all the tools to exploit that combat reset range ( which is way too low) in a blink of an eye and that comes on a low cooldown.

Yes, the “If he runs away, you win” sucks. When you engage someone in a fight, you’re basically saying “I bet I can win.” You invest your position on the map as well as all your stacks. If I got my warrior and ran away from a fight without sacrificing what I have put on the table, then the game is rigged in my favour.
But this will never be fixed. Everyone knows the devs play warriors.

Thats the point. My Mesmer is slow as hell. Fighting a warrior at the moment is completely senseless. If you gona win he charges away like the roadrunner and escapes …

I am using the traveller rune but in comparision to a warrier i am as slow as a turtle vs a rabbit.
This has to be fixed in my opinion.

I remember when the charge of the dagger/dagger ele has been nerved. Charge CD time increases, when no target has been hit with the charge. Same should be used for the warrior charges.
Also the range should be reduced.

This is the most sane answer. I know it’s just a game but a full plate should never outrun something as lightweighted as a thief. Bad design right there.

In that case, Asuras have body types of an infant, they shouldn’t be able to run as fast as adult humans. Norns are overweight, they too should be slow runners.

If they run away,they seem to be pretty effective in it as you can’t catch them and have to laugh about it for some reason,usually these warriors are playing You,and you don;t seem to realize it…Warriors mobility should be used for whatever the warrior wants to use it for.

What you fail to realize is that they are pretty much useless in combat.

Maybe not in 1v1 or small fights, but a bunker warrior can also be very fast and be useful in Zerg fights.

If you lose to a warrior as a thief, ele, or mesmer (in my opinion the most broken dueling classes) that is pretty sad (guardians are really good if used correctly). Unless you’re not built for roaming, in which case you wouldn’t even be posting here. All they can do is run, good thieves can burst way harder and dodge and juke with blind+stealth. Mesmers can stealth, stack condi’s (wow they barely last a second, – condi duration op?) keep stacking them and kiting that warrior, you have so many tools : images, blink, chaos armor, stealth. Ele’s have always been up to par with thieves, they’re so sick when they’re actually good players playing them, you can’t kill them, you can’t catch them, you will probably die in a long drawn out fight against one.
Anyway, pretty sure a lot of people have said it enough. Warriors can’t do anything 1 on 1 against these classes because they’re so predictable, so all they can do is run from them and all they can do is build to zerg. (please don’t try telling me how you destroyed some light armor uplevel with 100 blades saying warriors are good at duels).

lemongrass can be countered with +40% food. Then most cripples will still last 1s which is enough to counter Rush/WW/Savage Leap.

Sorry if I ofended you some how with my opinion… but I really dont think they are playing me, they play to kill me and when they cant kill you on their first chain of skills and you give then a hard time they just move and flee because they have the best mobility of all classes.

I just stated that this is funny because usually you dont expect a warrior to run away so easily and most of then are doing this, I am not saying they have to fight untill death because of some kind of warrior honor is just that many are running for nothing they are playing like thieves, if you cant win on the first blow just move away and try again later.

Warrior can’t have everything.

An escape/mobility build is not good at killing things. Don’t chase them, they are specced to get away. Just don’t let them sneak up on you at a weak moment because it’s the only way they’re going to kill you.
