I noticed ArchonWing’s Forum Specialist tag is gone, and I dunno where that second Specialist went.

I take it that the Specialist program has been deemed a great success, and no more feedback from the players is desired at this point?

Or perhaps Archon’s weekly reports did not contain sufficient amounts of kissing kitten .

Perhaps it is better to contact ArchonWing about this in private first?

Probably too honest about the state of WvW.

WvW forum specialists was a blatantly obvious attempt for Anet to appease the community by saying “look, we do care!”, followed by the exact same silent neglect we always see. There is nothing the specialists could have done to make it work.

The FSP program was a farce to begin with.

Just look at the forums, the devs and mods reply to even the most mundane comment in general discussions, yet leave WvW alone and barely touch sPvP.

It was yet another ploy to get the most gullible to believe they were doing something when in fact they werent.

Do you think they even bothered to read what ArchonWing wrote?
At no part of the description of the FSP program does it state that the devs will reply to the FSP.
So I would be very surprised if ArchonWing ever had a conversation with a dev at all!

3 years is enough for me, especially being ripped off with DLC being sold as an expansion. I only do WvW 3 times a week now.

About two months ago, I decided that I wasn’t going to have the time to be a forum specialist. Truth be told, while I still WvW a fair amount, I’ve played a lot less myself, and the fact is that a majority of my friends and guildies just don’t give a kitten any more. A lot of times they just agree to tag along because of commendations or because possibly to shut me up for 30 minutes and yes I thank my guild for not gkicking me since reading my chatter in guild chat can be a pain.

Given that there won’t be any major changes in the near future and also the relative secrecy on major overhauls if it even exists, there is far more than enough feedback than is needed. It’s all on the front page, and they get it or they don’t. There’s little more we can do.

This was also during the time you guys asked about whether or not they were finding another specialist and I figured I shouldn’t just step down and leave this forum abandoned without finding a proper successor. You know, I could at least be like dead El Cid on a horse until things were sorted out but I did have the intent of at least helping until this point.

And sigh, honestly, this was yet again not the best way to do things. I hope this really shows that [Anet] does not understand its player base very well. People notice these things really fast.

Now, I’m certainly not going to deny that there was not really much that could be done on my end. I’m going to take credit for a few small things like wvw armor salvage and not counting pve pops in among a few other minor things. (Sure, there’s been complaints about it for years but soon usually equates to “never”) But anyone reading between the lines knew that when I came along, the HoT changes were pretty much set in stone; I’m guessing I’d have to be in place 6-12 months before this to really aggressively shut down what I saw as rather bad ideas that led to the situation in the first place.

I never really aimed to accomplish anything major though. The reason I decided to go with this, because let’s be honest— Who’s the best specialist for WvW thus far? Obviously me, which says little, because I pretty much win by default. No offense to anyone else; I am sure the others put in good work, but without actually speaking with the community you can’t really understand what they’re saying. I took it because nobody else would.

In any case, I know that in terms of material gains, we only got a few things here and there. But that was never my point. I believe in leading by example, and hopefully anyone else that wants to bother taking the mantle will have gotten a few things from me in terms of generating discussion and giving feedback in the future if things get better, or in whatever other game you guys move to that you deem worthy of your support. So to whoever applied for this spot, I hope I’ve laid a better example.

It’s also fairly true that they really more of an active role for the specialist program. You can’t really just leave an echo chamber.

I know some of you aren’t going to care anyways, but thanks to everyone else that supported me. I’m just not the forum specialist you need right now.

All and all, the people of Gw2 WvW deserved much better.

ArchonWing did any devs even reply back to your collected feedback?

FSPs were only supposed to hold a post for 6 months and then another chosen. I’ve lost track on how long it has been.

But it’s nice to know that Anet feel they do not need to replace you!!

I think that tells us everything.

ArchonWing , thank you for your time in the WvW forum.

It must be difficult to reconcile getting feedback on Desert BLs for the devs and not really seeing fruits of your labor. I think the yak structure upgrade change was a good one, even if the number of yaks is a bit high.

If you’re responsible for the WvW armor salvage I’d like to thank you for that too since I had maybe three to four sets of those.

Where is zhonnika from Jade Quarry, by the way? I saw them post a few times but never anything consequential?
