Imho, it lacks knowing your opponent and your own server at times. Since playing DAOC to WoW and any other pvp game I could get my hands on. The fun was knowing who was skilled or geared. Knowing what you were up against or who you were fighting. As a group or 1vs1. Knowing who you needed your A-game for or who to target first when roaming or fighting.
I remember having that arch rival in every game you always wanted to fight against or find when pvping. You became friends without ever even talking. You just knew you’d gun for them first whether in a group vs group or 1vs1 situation.
I’m not sure if I’m the only one who misses that feeling but wow did it get my blood going. With how WvW is setup you, you don’t see that spam of killing 3-4 people in a row or an enemy doing it to your friends and wanting that person dead. Or even being able to tell one person from the next on another server. And then the server change kills it even more.
My 2 cents anyway. I miss it.
