I would think a Guardian zerg > warrior zerg. Perma-stability and keep blasting retalition the warriors will kill themselves or be forced to run away.
From what they showed in the livestream the new heal will be pretty bad, 3 seconds is not long at all and in no way will you take enough dmg to heal you full within that time or even get as much hp back as healing surge.
In zergs it might work ok if you get lucky and a whole lot of people hit you(or you go complete suicide and put it on) but in any small scale type of fighting it will be completely useless.

I could see a team of warriors pulling a time-wasting tactic used with it. Run into group → Endure Pain → Defiant Stance. Just 1 warrior bought at least 10 seconds for your server to get there. Multiples? You may have bought them 30 seconds.

It’s just endure pain with healing. Mass Necro fields remain a great way to counter this; plus if they aren’t running healing signet they don’t have that constant regen like they usually have.
Not to mention nothing in between recharges. Unless they are running Endure Pain and Defy Pain trait.
I haven’t feared direct damage as a warrior for a long time now (laugh off 90% of thieves), but it’s condition + direct damage that takes me down the most. (mesmers with a good mix will beat me more than any other type.
I think this heal will have the potential to make some massive heals, but generally I think the blocks would be more useful than the damage conversion.
I’ll be equipping my unblockabke daze just for the like since now warriors and guardians can be trolled by it.
Easy, go stealth and/or put out 20 clones and run away because you are outnumber, or wait 3 seconds then attack.

ill use Muddy Terrain and Krytan Drakehound and watch them stand in one spot for 6 seconds while i /laugh at em
Currently @ some T1 server in EU
Kill them in the 30 seconds after they heal for 2k?… Each damage tick you take during the 3 seconds heals 900 or 9xx so realistically it will heal maybe 5-10k in the middle of taking damage. The fact that it’s so conditional already makes it gimmicky and limited use.
The warrior’s new heal seems like one of the worst ones and it doesn’t complement warrior it all. They should have made it instant cast and stun break. Only thief’s new heal is worse.

No offense but, I can’t see any use for that Skill except for Zergs vs Zergs.
There is nowhere else that you will receive enough hits to make the new Heal worth using.
That skill is most of the time, a nerfed version of Shelter.

It’s obviously not a 1v1 skill… It needs around 8 hits in 3 seconds to match healing surge. And they need to all be AoE hits because the stance is visible to your opponent. This means 1v1 the skill will heal 3k at most, every 35 seconds… Except vs conditions it will do more but again, it doesn’t complement warriors because they almost all run condition reduction. The skill just won’t see any use until it’s buffed.
Some of you make it sound as if it’s an over the top skill. The only possible decent use of this I can see is in a small group fight where the warrior is near death, pops the skill, and the others stupidly continue to hit.
In a zerg vs zerg battle, a warrior pops it, and as someone said, it may heal them 5-10k if they take a flurry of hits. After it wears off though, then can just as easily take 30K + damage in less than 3 seconds. That’s exactly what’s going to happen if their in the front lines.
It’s cool in the effect that it can heal dependent on how much your hit, but in reality, is usefulness is limited.
endure pain + traited endure pain + berserker stance + stability , and at the end you can pop the new heal skill.
14sec of ZERO damage received if you have stances traited.
It’s three seconds of not dying to damage.
let me think: Do I want to have a healing signet, which doesn’t have enough healing to keep me alive, or a skill that can make me invincible for three seconds?
Do I want to take 90,000 damage from a zerg and die, or do I want to take zero damage from a zerg and keep their attention long enough for my zerg to assassinate them?
Hmm, let me think about this:
Do I want bags and bags galore, or do I want to suck and be a liability to my server?
Man these are some tough questions. I’m gonna have to do some soul-searching before I decide whether really awesome skills are appropriate for my build or not.

I agree with what has been posted here, this heal is very very situational, and I doubt often used. Also, I’ve yet to see a “warrior zerg” like ever. And seriously doubt I ever will. Maybe goofing off during off season time, but not during the wvw season rush.

The signet isn’t a serious issue. That said 2 guardians and 3 warriors per party times X is dominating right now. The only way to beat it is to bring a bigger group of players by a good bit.

Yeah I play an elementalist, I know the meaning of super squish & how imporant it is to use AoE(armor of earth) which is about 6s- I tend to run around the zerg though lol

yep kiting is pretty much the only thing u can do, but most of the times theyll get u even there. lots of those trains focus caster right away…yay i love haveing such great swiftness on my mes!!!..wait.

I’m not saying it’s easy, but you can kite a zerg, it works approximately as a single character. You can avoid it as well, just as you try to dodge a zerg which is attacking you while you are in a bad position.

Yes thats correct,they do absorb all dmg.
Saw warrior hitting the heal and getting healed for the conditions ticks and even the siphons.
I would guess that siege dmg also turns into heal.
If you see a gear above my head……run
