Why PvE(LW) events on WvW?
When I saw that bloom icon on the map I thought my game UI was bugged.

To give voice to everyone’s concerns, we don’t want to have to man siege at garri to fight off Aetherblade pirate skyships.
I think that sums up the concern here in a single sentence.
This. Having to waste our siege and supply to fight stupid PVE npcs that are taking over our sentry/camps/towers/merc….that’s such a waste and something I can’t seem to comprehend.
Why was it added? Who thought this was a good idea? (especially during Leagues!) Infact, I thought we were promised no changes to our maps or anything else in WvW during leagues. Why was that promise broken?
if it was everyone’s concern no one would be doing it ?
Odd…. all this kittening.. since for the most part they spawn in the mercenary camps they can be ignored. I know in EBG most of the time we flipped mercenary and ignored these mobs made it take a bit longer since more stuff up+conditional effect. (if nothing else more targets to regain stack quick)
On a side note silver = 250wxp, gold = 750wxp — I do not know vs copper completed them when we had some downtime.

DAOC has/ had these things…that is the reason that this game has them!
I remember several events that had things popping up in the frontiers bringing extra people out, not to mention there were TWO major PvE+RvR dungeons (a whole expansion revolved around one of them).
Mostly popular, because there were no queues and no real overcrowding.
Not sure what DAOC you played.. but it sure is not the one I left a little over a year ago to come try this game out. Frontiers was just that… open world pvp fighting. No PVE events distracting folks from taking or defending keeps/towers.
But that’s not the point of this post, its about the problem of introducing more PVE to WvW when most of those that I WvW with (on SBI) wanted much less. Its causing many of us that only do the WvW for pvp in this game (and not the silly arena stuff) to look at alternative games. Many of us only go to PVE zones to farm mats for acended gear, etc.. not for fun. Our “fun” part in this game is fighting other players on an open world pvp zone (wvw). And not being distracted with more PVE silliness while we are out there. The sadly ironic thing is… if Anet focused on WvW for the WvW zones they might get more players coming to play this game that enjoy that style of play. But by throwing in more PVE in WvW zones they are actually pushing us away.
I honestly think the devs do not understand the primary player-base that plays WvW in this game. If they understood us… they might consider suggestions we have made (such as NEW borderlands maps that are DIFFERENT (and not identical) with challenging terrain to fight in (deep thick woods with tree-forts, high cliffs with rope bridges, etc.. ). And or differing keep designs that offer different tactical challenges to attack, and defend with. But its like they don’t listen, or don’t care. And that apathy is also what is driving many of us away.

So in the end, we are being ignoted to oblivion again? i dont think thats the correct way of aproaching the forums and the players, as an important matter like this one is being just left to dust, being deleted once
Meh it’s just another thing that divides opinions in WvW. For me personally WvW is just an extension of the PvE world that allows for PvP so I’m happy to see more PvE stuff added periodically. I find it rather funny when I down someone and then /sit and watch them being finished off by say, the Veteran Warg or standing back and watching someone fail with their attempt at soloing a camp, confused as to why they didn’t dodge more.
With this new Toxic Alliance stuff most of it is out of the way so it never really factors in, but I do like the event on EB that’s in the dredge cave. It’s quite funny bumping into a bunch of zerglings in there and leading them around the toxic pollen. Nobody seems to slot that new heal skill so their easy prey whilst the Elite Toxic Krait munch on them. I used to do a lot of Dark Souls PvP so I’m used to actively luring people into situations where NPC aggro creates funny encounters and I’m glad GW2 allows me to do the same thing.
well wvw is a big karma/wxp train who cares if they add more “content” lol
Eh, I’m a WvW player only, a commander who needs gold to buy siege and pay for upgrades… I usually put $50 a fortnight into this game for gems but now since Anet has decided to screw up WvW more they can officially kiss my money good bye…
I’m sure the sPvP people wouldn’t appreciate having to fight the LS when they are trying to cap a point, I don’t see why WvW players should have too.

That would actually be a trip! (Just not during leagues! Infact, that is my biggest problem with the PvE in WvW…it was introduced during leagues)
Not sure I agree that the Toxic stuff is out of the way. They disrupt supply. There is already plenty of that.
There’s no words to express how much I dislike the LS stuff in WvW.
Maybe if it was in out of the way places, it wouldn’t be so bad.
Currently running through those merc camps is so annoying I simply avoid them.
And they also disrupt yaks which is annoying. Now forcing people to escort, an activity you took away rewards from last year…
The visuals are kinda cool, I’ll give props on that, but it doesn’t really have a place in WvW.
When are they gone? Please tell me it isn’t permanent.
