also just my opinion… but when a certain point total differential is reached, break out events and golems need to stop being usable by the dominating server.
I suspect that making objectives harder to capture would actually make zerging worse.
what they need to do is make it easier to take undefended objectives, but harder to take defended ones. taking an undefended objective needs to be so easy that 2-4 players can do it quickly, no matter how upgraded it is.
if they did that, zergs would be forced to leave people behind to guard each objective (if they want to keep them), and the team that has more objectives would naturally need to dedicate more people to defense (or risk losing everything to small roving groups).
unfortunately defense is boring and unrewarding, so while this might be an effective mechanic for server balance, it’s not much fun.

The developers obviously don’t want WvW to be a defensive game. In the real history of medieval war, if you are behind the battlements of a castle wall you are virtually indestructible and can rain fire and arrows down on your opponent. This is why they built castles to begin with. In GW2 you get blown up in 2 seconds flat by meteor showers and other ranged effects. The defender has no advantage.
Now if you could actually make arrow carts in protected places without taking damage, 1-2 people could defend a keep, but right now it is biased in favor of the attacker. No objective is truly defendable. They don’t want it that way.
