you are wrong.
if you tag them with enough damage before they dive, you will get the wvw kill and a chance for loot bag to spawn.

i just experienced this yesterday night.
me and a guildie were at the top of the well in eternal battlegrounds jumping puzzle.
both of us just gotten invisibility from the 2nd mystic well on top of the well.
then i spotted a IoJ thief (we were SoS) and me and my guildie (both warriors, invisible from mystic well) proceed to get near the thief and attempt to kill the IoJ thief.

i hacked him with my axe and then suddenly he just ran down some cliff and died.
then my guildie told me he feared him (via “fear me!” warrior shout) and the thief just ran off the cliff and died just like that.

both of us got the WvW kill count and i got loot bag with badges.

those who dive to die probably just wanna avoid repair fees.

I believe this is an issue that needs addressing,
let’s say you’re fighting someone and simply because they know they will lose the fight they take a dive from the nearest cliff and die, now what happens is you are denied your loot and he avoids repair bills due to no armor break from falling damage.

I believe that if you’re fighting someone and he decides to take a dive and die it should still count as a player kill, why ? simple, he wasn’t out of combat fell and died ! NO, he was fighting a player and now that he is losing he wants to cheat you and the systems in place !

Here’s why:
1 – he only dived to avoid the death penalty and save money.
2 – he is trying to cheat the system and deny you your loot.
3 – he is also denying you of you monthly WvW achievement this way.

It’s funny when you jump off a high cliff with as a mesmer, survive, other guy jumps, and you just portal back to the top.

Spectral walk used to do that, good times. i am not sure when that stopped working but i know last week when i was using that trick it failed me more times then i want to admit. Still not sure why i was trying it over and over hoping for a different result but o well.

Don’t fight near cliffs?…

It’s not an issue. I use cliffs to-

1: Get away
2: Trick my opponent

You’d be surprised how many people will actually follow you off of a cliff and die as well.

What do you do about people who take advantage of that? Memsers – Temporal Curtain, Guardians – that bubble shield, Necros – Fear ability. There are many things that can push a player off a cliff. It’s not just players running off them.

This is about falling off cliffs, not people who kill their client to avoid losing a fight. Jumping off a cliff makes me chuckle. Alt+F4 is reprehensible and for slimes that shouldn’t be playing in the first place.

For 1 simple do so when your in downstate your armour get damaged then they can alt-f4 how much they want they still will need to repair and ofc your armour should get damage how every you die or if you get ressed or press ok.
