Hello there

I am wondering about some issues. I’ve compared several characters. My main warrior at level 80 with rare gear, then I log onto my alt warrior at level 4. Looking at the stats, the Attack, Crit rate, HP, and also armor, the level 4 warrior has higher stats, even though he was using the starter gear ? For example my warrior higher level character has attack at around 2.2 K while my level 4 warrior 2.4 K, even though the higher level character has 30 points into traits that goes into power/attack. I was thinking that as I level up the character, and putting points into traits, and getting more expansive gear, he is going to be more powerful in WvW, but its not.
Is it true. Then there is no point in leveling to max level. If its the case its ok lol, I just want to know if this is how it works, then I can just take time playing my other characters and enjoying the game rather than blasting to max level like a lot of people usually are used to do. Do I want to know if its true, about how this works and what people’s opinon are on this, thanks

It is because you are not wearing max stat level 80 gear (Exotic/Legendary). The stats of a level 1 scale up to be the same as someone wearing level 80 gear at level 80. If your gear is not literally top notch, you will “technically” be weaker than a level 1; However, your level 80 would stomp your level 4 because you have all your utilities, your elite, and all your trait points. Those make the huge difference that no amount of stats can fix. I go apekitten on anybody I see with that little upward arrow next to them name. Sure they might be level 79, but they might also be under level 30, and therefore weak prey in WvW. I stomped a Necro who was camping the waterfall jumping puzzle waiting for people to jump down the other day. I jumped down, already having seen him and his marks he tried to use to trap people when they landed, but avoiding them, and with half health, proceeded to kick hiskitten on my Elementalist lol. Dunno what level he was or whatever, but I’m sure level did have some degree on my advantage over him, considering my health was likely much higher than his as well. You also have to keep in mind that it doesn’t scale any particular stat higher like a level 80 would have, and balances them fairly evenly

I see lol I just though it was weird that my lvl 80 character has lower attack power, crit rate and HP with rare gear + accessories that gives power than my lvl 4 with white gear/ npc gear. I probably have to get an exotic set than lol.
