Your thoughts of permanent PPK
I think I’ve come around on PPK, but maybe only because it really helps out my server. The bonus is NOT insignificant at all.
How do you know this? Show me where you are seeing the amount of points that you are getting from PPK.
gw2score.com states that my server received over 41% of our score from non tic earned points. As of now, we are at 45.50% for this week from points earned outside of tic.
Where are you claiming to get your information that says it is “irrelevant”? I find it interesting that you make a baseless claim and offer no proof, yet demand proof from others.

I hate PPK, yet again it rewards zerg behaviour.
Take an unskilled zerg and a smaller skilled group.
The zerg it taking a tower and the smaller group comes to defend.
The zerg slowly whittles down the smaller group, which is able to hang on whilst it’s dead players run back again.
Eventually, after several wipes, the smaller group manages to defeat and push back the zerg.With PPK the zerg is still rewarded more points than the smaller group as the smaller group suffered more deaths than the zerg. So even though a smaller group was able to defeat the zerg, the smaller group is not rewarded for their skill.
But as usual the real problem is that WvW is just not balanced! And Anet not spending resources on improving it is not helping; making silly little changes like PPK and removal on white swords will not fix anything.
That’s a bit backwards from my personal experience. My small group can easily kill way more numbers, especially when we have walls and siege on our side. The zerg will usually eventually get the cap by power ressing the dead and pvding the door down but we get a crap load of kills in the process, way more than what the zerg gets.
If it’s an enemy tower or keep and there isn’t a chance to hold it for the tick, we won’t even stick around to fight in lords. We hop out and pick off a couple of the stragglers and then run off.
sure if u got siege placed (superior) and refreshed, 5+ ppl can wipe a zerg , but if u start with 0 siege and low supply, u cant defend tower or keep for long
atm zerg > skill
and ppk add more ppl on blob server (we can see it on the next wvw season)

And no wight swords removes ppl from the blob servers THAT is the balances. Also a blob has more risk in its more point rich then a tower so they must do more then kill small groups of rowers to make it worth them blobling. This makes this group week to havick picking them off from spawns and ppl who simply fall behind.

I posted awhile back that it might make people think twice about fighting. But it seems to be working out great. As Zoel said it really helps against people who would 2v1 to match fix the tiers. I hope they keep it.

5 points per kills when the server is in last position,
10 points per kill when the borderland is outnumberred,
3 extra points per kill when you have the bloodlust,
add a kill scoreboard under the ppt,
and THEN and ONLY THEN will it do a difference in the way people play.

What does that even mean? Regurgitating a bunch of buzzwords doesn’t make you cool. Especially when it has no real meaning

How so? It completely changes the fighting dynamic. It punishes the yolo players. It forces zergs to actually care about defensive siege.

These are some of the worst ideas I have heard in my opinion. Why should one server get more points for doing the exact thing another server is doing, simply because they are behind in score? Thats completely irrational.

I like the idea of bloodlust giving more value to a kill by increasing its PPK value. As to the score board, for PPK, I am indifferent. Sure, i guess seeing it could be a motivator, so it couldn’t hurt.

Has anyone got any QQ about giving away Points by going yolo against groups or players, especially while roaming?
Yep, few times… Supposed to get on TS and zerg instead of giving away free PPK from roaming. Thankfully those people have less than 3k AP and still think PPT is the fun part of WvW…

someone with 3k AP is going to be more ecstatic towards WvW compared to someone who has been in WvW since beta… Nothin was meant to be implied badly upon it, newer people are a bit more PPT focused naturally and there is nothing wrong with that, that’s how they want to play the game.

I thought AP was only used to judge how well someone can auto attack npc’s in PvE. Guess I better get out there and start hitting those dungeons so everyone on my server will know I can handle myself against opponents with brains… oh wait
