I’m hoping that I am wrong but some of the new crafting stuff(dragonite ore) is going to be acquired from temples and mega bosses and from wvw keeps and castles. While I do appreciate being able to get this new material from wvw, I really see this only further encouraging zerging(and possibly to a further extent, continue to discourage defending).

Not only zerging also not defending or upgrade lol. Why do we want to defend or upgrade now when we gonna want other server to flip keeps for us to get crafting mats

Going to be interesting to see the first co ordinated borderland flips. We’ll take all yours, you come and take ours. When we’re done, we all swap and retake ours whil you retake yours.

Rinse and repeat.

After a couple of weeks of this, it will stop when people realise the drop rate is about the same as ascended items from rank levelling (ie non-existent, rares are 1 in 20 or so(, whereas pve’rs are guaranteed a rare for turning up at a dragon and going afk hitting it.

Easy solution to all that, and lessons learned from WAR. Have rewards for defense to discourage flipping, equal to or even greater than attacking at least over time. Have it tie into how much you upgrade a tower/keep and it has tiers of bonus if you get it fully fortified and actively defended.
