Blackgate

Sadly guardian is relatively useless in wvwvw. The pvp mechanics are heavily in favor of ranged classes and a guardian just can’t compete. All I ever did was run around flailing away with my scepter and watching 9/10 Orbs of Wrath hit nothing. On rare occasions I got to grip someone and hit them with Whirling Wrath. The only time I felt like a was actually doing anything is during sieges. With the guardian self heals and health regen I could just park myself under a wall, sit there and throw Smite at the wall above me. I got quite a few goodie bags doing that. That being said, I never had problems with not coming out ahead as far as making gold goes. As long as you stick with a group that is constantly capping you should make money. I am hoping that Anet will do something to make guardians more competitive, but for now I am playing a mesmer.

You should at least capture a supply camp each death.
2 Caravans and Camp is 2s 50c.
Your repair per death is 1s 90ish for exotic gear.
I duo normal camps with any combo of class. Play guardian and thief myself. Both work fine.
Basically keep your eyes out for objectives and doyaks etc and money will come in at a decent rate. life is a lot easier outside of EBG also.
And to mr scepter above….ever consider changing your playstyle? Just giving up works as good, i guess

WoW i have never lost any money on WvW, even though I’m buying prints, golems sometimes. Maybe it’s not a huge income but still like 1g per day. Run with zerg bro Just kidding, but who said that war isn’t expensive?
If you got a good team(server), you will get some nice money it’s that simple
A guildmate (on his berserk build ranger) swore he totally made 2 gold in an hour on WvW one day. I don’t make near that much but I don’t think I lose any money. Helps being 80 and dying less though.
so where is this mythical money in wvw?
Your money’s on the dresser.
Its pretty easy to turn a profit in WvW, just dont expect to get 100g quickly or something.
I think a lot of it is smart playing. I mostly WvW on my warrior, and when I first started playing WvW, I had a tendency to charge opponents a lot. The result is I’d now be out of range of my team and I’d get destroyed. So, now I try to hold off on charging until my squad is in a position to push a bit. I just sit back w/ a gun or longbow and pew pew away.
This next one only comes with experience but its probably more important. You absolutely have to know when you’re walking into a wipe/losing battle. And you have to have some utility skills that help you to get away if you end up in that situation.
Mostly if you want to make G’s in WvW, you just have to avoid dying. And it is easier than it sounds. Also, sell everything. Maybe salvage stuff if you’re still working on professions, but occasionally you’ll loot a few items you can vendor for some silver. I got my first exotic item in WvW from a Moa, which I then sold for like 3g on the TP.
I havent made much gold on this game yet, but I always walk away from WvW with a small profit that I’m happy with. Sometimes on the weekends if I play for a few hours in the afternoon, I’ll make a quick 2g from selling loot drops and taking objectives with my squad.
Just do your best to not die.
I make around 3g a day after repairs/expenses, I play 95% WvW.
Also, lol at Guardians being useless in WvW comment >.>
Sadly guardian is relatively useless in wvwvw.
Well if you had seen a group of Guardians forming a chain of shield commanded by their commander breaching a downed castle wall with a zerg behind them awaiting for the attack order, you would think different mate With some organization and the right commander it turns out epic
It’s hillariously bad design that the best way to break even in WvWvW is to just PVE flipping objectives and avoiding actual player vs player combat at all costs.
Almost nobody is going to be able to make money from killing other players in WvWvW. The math simply doesn’t support it. Trading objectives, however, is quite lucrative and easy. Great design there.
So you are saying that attacking (objectives) and defense (killing people with siege while defending) is the best way to make money but it’s not PVP. LOL.
Here is a note, since you seem a little green. Capping supply camps and dolyaks constantly really helps win the overall war. If enemies do that to you then get some people and set up an ambush. If you are allowed to circle cap the enemy is bad or has low population, simple as that.
The objective play is the war effort in PVP and it’s not Anets’ fault if people are kitten and don’t properly defend them/watch after them. In fact every single objective is extremely important in PVP, even sentries.
